    Rainbow canopy on a removable cockpit module! Well, not at the prices they're fetching on the secondary market, eh? As much as we worship the YF-19 (and well we should, it's a work of art), the one thing that always disappointed me about Macross Plus is how little respect the VF-11 gets. Despite its auspicious debut -- in one of the finest action sequences ever animated, I might add -- it's never given any attention, treated as merely an outdated model ready to be replaced by the New Hotness. They might as well just used ol' VF-1s for the opening sequence instead.

    The Thunderbolt has always been my favorite of Yamato's valkyries. They never quite did the YF-19 justice, but they nailed the VF-11... at least, in fighter mode.

    Not if it's 1:6000, as labeled. The Megahouse is 1:5000. That's a significant difference, as any Star Trek collector can tell you.

    It would be impossible to transform, at that scale... although I suppose some fiber-optic lighting is feasible.

    Yuck. The cel-shaded paint work may be screen-accurate, but the surface detailing certainly isn't... Is that supposed to be... rust? Or... moss? Acne scars? I'm sure it's intentional, but it looks entirely too much like a really amateur paint job... Like, the brush was dirty, and the paint was too thick, and it dried too quickly, and the painter mixed acrylics and enamels together...

    Yes, S.H. Figuarts Tendo Akane... an expensive piece to acquire on the secondary market. As was Hibiki Ryoga. Thankfully, the Revoltech turtles were re-issued, so they can still be found at reasonable prices...

    I'm a huge fan of Nickelodeon's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, despite it being the only iteration of the franchise I find even watchable... ...and I'm so glad Revoltech gave these designs the respect they deserve. Note, however, that mine have all had minor surgery, to reduce their awkwardly-high shoulder joints: I dremeled out their shoulder sockets and drilled new holes for the Revoltech joints, so they sit at a more natural angle and reflect the CGI bodies more accurately. The ability to shift the eye positions is a very effective gimmick... ...and the alternate heads are lots of fun for posing and photography. No, just the turtles, unfortunately. Thankfully, though, they scale well with Playmates' human character figures: ...although some of the American figures need a lot of work done to match the accuracy of the Revoltech turtles. April required a whole new head! Karai just needed a couple new swivel joints for articulation, and minor repainting. They're fun to pose with most MAFEX, S.H. Figuarts, and other Revoltech lines, too. If only they'd produced more characters from the show... Nevertheless, highly recommended figures!

    It's a good way to test the market for such a large and expensive model kit, I expect... If gerwalk sells well, they can safely invest in developing kits of the other modes, too. I expect Kidz Concept released Minmei as their first Robotech figure for the same reason.

    Irrelevant. All that OCP left of Alex Murphy was a head and partial torso ("not even a corpse," as Dr. Faxx describes): Sure, they used a man in a costume for the title character, but RoboCop could've just as easily looked like this. Able-bodied characters like Tony Stark or the Knight Sabers, however, have no such excuse (although I thought Iron Man made the Iron Monger costume tangibly realistic)... I never saw reason to question the physical reality of Mospeada's transformable aircraft or ride armor -- certainly not compared to, say, the constantly mass-shifting Transformers -- and there's a lot of Marvel stuff that strains credulity a lot more nowadays. When Tony Stark steps out of the Iron Man armor wearing a three-piece suit, I call bullshit.

    Actually, they do fit on the bike, although they look as comically-oversized as most other Mospeada toys... However, unlike most other Mospeada toys, they can support the ride armor unassisted. But yes, the Sentinel boots are obviously preferable in bike mode.

    So, I'm looking at Sentinel's 1:12 Mospeada ride-armor, with its skinny little boots... And Aoshima's vintage 1:12 model, with its massive boots... ...and I figure, why not just swap 'em? Aoshima's figure still sucks, but I think Sentinel's looks way better in Aoshima boots. I've just gotta paint 'em up to match.

    Okay, I'm very excited about this. According to Amazon.jp, there's a long-awaited new series coming out called "Bottoms." Also, this upcoming turbo-custom Scopedog toy stands 113.7 yards, which makes it 104 meters high. And the shipping is FREE!
