  1. I also decaled mine over the weekend. Messed up a bit on the big 30 anniversary logo.
  2. I was expecting a 32000yen MSRP and I am gonna get one. Yes it is expensive but not untouchable for me, as I only collect toys on limited franchise and most of those franchise are kind of dead now ...Certainly, different people have different priorities, just take it easy and don't make toy collecting a stress, which is exactly what it is meant to be... I have got all 4 variations of the Ver.1 1/60 ( bought with pretty good discount a few years ago ) and I think they are quite good already. so if the new version is really too expensive for you right now, stay with the old ones and you can still have a lot of fun.
  3. I was going through my old photos of the 1/60 Roy VF-1S DYRL and noticed that Yamato have left the circle on the back pack plain instead of yellow like it appears in the movie. all the other models including Hikaru's Max's and Kakisaki's have the circle in the same colors as the stripe on the chest. This is odd considering Yamato (Now Arcadia) was very careful about details.
  4. The old 1/60 was quite good, except the legs are a bit too long and a bit difficult to pose, Yet this photo makes it look just perfect.
  5. Probably many has bought the VF-1S Hi-Metal. I did too, any maybe I will buy more if the line was continued (not as ridiculously pricey limited edition with super parts sold separately). However, I maintain the point of view that it cannot compare with the 1/60V.2, asthetically. The only thing that I really like about it is the way the arms unfold. Oops, sorry, I thought this was the Hi-metal love thread. Back to topic. I just tell people that I collect toys about 80's anime because only recently they are able to represent the 2d arts so well in 3d. And I don't usually pay attention to their remarks.
  6. I mean the 1/60 VF-22 (and 1/60 YF-21) looks better in Fighter mode as the limbs are too slim in Battroid and Gerwalk modes. (in my personal opinion) The Gnu-Dou figures has better proportion because it does not have to accommodate transforming mechanism.
  7. The SV-51 looks good in all three modes but have very floppy joints. On the other Hand, the VF-22 looks better in fighter then the other two modes
  8. I have all 4 variavions of the previous 1/60 YF-19 and I still want this one. If they issue the VF-19A, I am still getting it. would be a tough decision if they redo the Bird of Prey and Double Nuts in the new format...
  9. Is it a bit too wide at the shoulder area in Batroid mode?
  10. I find all Macross Frontier VFs' head looks like insects.
  11. I am not sure but I suspected that alcohol was one of the reason that My red Metal Composite Z-Plus yellowing earlier then the blue one.
  12. Yes, and I remember (vaguely) that TVB in Hong Kong had aired both the Cantonese dubbed version and the English dubbed version in their Chinese and English Channel respectively.
  13. SDFM was quite popular in Hong Kong as I remember, and then DYRL was shown in the cinema, featuring a then popular canto-pop singer voice over for Minmay. She also sing the Cantonese version of the theme song. Not badly sung at all but I still prefer the original
  14. The old 1/60 YF-19 was already19,800yen as I remember. so it will not be a surprise if this one is over 30,000yen, although I hope it will be less then that.
  15. I like Mospeada too but I am awared that quality Mospeada toys killed Beagle.
  16. Let's not compare it to Hasegawa non-transformable kit, or Yamato / Arcadia completed toy, just compare it to the MG gunpla or similar products from Bandai in the same size and pricerange, like those from short-lived R3 line, even so, this kit is under par, both in propotion and in engineering.
  17. Mine has the left knee cap on both knees so it dosn't fit perfectly in fighter mode. Why didn't the just make the knee cap fit both sides? Can accept exchanging windscreen and heatshield in a small toy like this but the abdomen in Battroid mode is a bit too long IMO.
  18. I suppose Takara and Yamato had both made some profit out of Votoms a few years ago with their 1/48 and 1/12 toys, However, Bandai seems to have got burn for their 1/20 model line. The franchaise is kind of dead at the moment, except a few garage kit here and there. As much as I like it (I was lucky to have aquited nine 1/12 dogs and various option sets, most of them at very reasonable price ), I am not optimistic about it being revitalised
  19. @ Mine is 1006 re-release and it has different shades of yellow on the pearl coat when I open the box already, I kind of accepted that already because I recently painted am MG unicorn in pearl white (gunze spraycan) and it has different shades too . My red one turn yellow first and the blue one seems to follow in some parts. may try the H2O2 remedy, Trying to find a way to avoid damaging the metal parts.
  20. Touch wood Mine is still ok after a couple of transformation but lately it seems Bandai's quality control and the choise of materials could not match their standard in engineering on chogokin toys. most of my DX Valks have scratchs, most of them only noticible under certain direction of light but the VF-29 30th Ann has a badly scratched patch on one of the misile bay. Besides, my Metal Composite 1006 Unicorn's pearl coat has unconsistant colour, and the 1005 Z-plus turn yellow in a metter of 3 years without prolonged expose to light.
  21. True, Thanks xrentonx for the notice. This time for CDJapan and last time with HLJ for VF-27. I Only need noe of each and I got them...
  22. I managed to secure one from CD Japan it was close as I have to create an account with them (I usually buy my stuffs from HLJ and Amiami)
  23. Thanks TCracker and MacrossJunkie, They definately looks better with weathering and matt clear coat. I don't think I will do the weathring as I never managed the airbrush well enough but I am very much tempted to clear coat my valks, both Bandai and Yamato, I'll have to stick with spraycan I guess.
  24. Whoever take a picture from the latest magazine and post it on-line so someone living abroad would know about the latest information is doing everyone a favor in my opinion.
