The first half dozen episodes, I thought, were terrible, the actors clearly hadn't figured out their parts, the father trying to speak 'Scientist" as though it were an accent he could put on to make you think he was a genius, the main character's ability to get permission to do literally anything, no matter how dangerous or stupid in a moment's notice, it was too much so I bailed on the show. Then a year later all my friends were watching it telling me how cool it got. So I borrowed the DVD's suffered through the first few episodes again, and then the show sort of took off for me. by the end of the first season I was in to it and couldn't wait for more. So I'd say if you give it a chance, make sure you get to the end of the first season because the first few spisodes in my opinion were victims of the cast and crew still developing their show and style.

I went ahead and picked up a second copy of #1 and a couple copies of #2 from Things From Another World linked off Dark Horse's website, just as an FYI, they packed up the comics well in thick cardboard and they arrived in perfect condition. I'm not thrilled wiht paying shipping on comic books, but since my comic shop failed me I bit the bullet. Anyhow, they seem like a good E-tailer. Now maybe I can send a copy of #1 in a S.A.R.E. to LSB and get it signed by the creator

I think you have a little leeway on the sizes, I may be remembering incorrectly, but doesn't it anime magic perfect fit the user in either civilian or armored mode?

Looks like my local comic shop dropped the ball and didn't get me a copy of issue #2 even though I added it to my pull list. I see the Dark Horse site drives consumer traffic to TFAW. Anyone dealt with them before? Is there any other means of buying the comic that benefits the creator more than another here in terms of DH sales numbers?

I shouldn't be surprised anymore, but looking at your masters is always a joy. Seeing the beginning and then the end product is amazing, it's like watching "How It's Made" on the science channel. Thanks for sharing the proces you go through, this is a pretty impressive looking kit!

Just back from Wonderfest myself, I got a couple pics of the AT-AT, Probe Droid, Met Steve Niesen and picked up an SS Interceptor, sorry I didn't get a chance to meet ya. Still interested here too!

They are, I saw some expo on G4 a couple months ago, there were a couple companies there selling TV's and Download Boxes who already had a dozen or so 3-D movies and live streaming 3-D content. I gotta say though, there is definitely the horrifying capacity to have some serious "What has been seen, cannot be unseen" moments if this technology is used for evil. Imagine in 3-D. The world doesn't need to go there.

Hahaha, great post Save. I have to admit to being one of those jackass foreigners, we were in one of the multi-level arcades in Akihabara and there was a Gundam Card Machine Tournament going on and I knew one of my friends back home would want to se a picture when I tried to describe the thing to him because we'd never seen games like that before. I got the camera out, snapped a picture and three little japanese guys literally dove in front of me making X's with their arms saying "No No No" in Japanese then they politely escorted me out of the building. I think I got a picture fo them doing their X-Arm dance crossing their arms in front of me trying to get a picture, I need to dig up those pics some time

I watched a marathon of that show yesterday, after a couple episodes I just tuned in on commercial breaks from Law & Order to see the weapon demos on the gel corpse and then the last five minutes to watch their result based on what looked like a random number generator with a half dozen weapon and armor variables fed into it determined by how the people demonstrating the weapons were at striking a gel corpse. But, it is an entertainment program, so I had fun watching them break stuff and then seeig the simulations. I found the bravado / bickering between the "experts" very annoying and really pretty hard to watch/listen to. Oh, but the ER Doc from LA was pure comedy gold. "I work in an ER in Los Angeles, and I can tell you that this 50 caliber bullet between the eyes that blew this dummy's brain out would really do a lot of damage to a person, I am very impressed!" LOL I will bet you money that they are banking Ninja-Vs-Pirate for when they are trying to get ratings for a renewal or for a season/series finale

I hate to sound like a ho, shilling for someone, but I picked one up from Starshipmodeler a couple weeks ago and they just gut these back in stock, US based and they ship really fast. So you are looking, my expereience with them has bee nothing but positive. With Carl Macek's passing, my Macross / Robotech interest has been piqued this month, I went back and started the series over again, seeing the Fan Racer at the beginning of the series again got me interesting in building this right away

It's only a matter of time and a few people with big fan bases being killed by whack jobs before reasonable people start taking these sorts of things into their own hands and hunting down extremists. Hopefully law enforcement and the government will be able to find a way to control this sort of stuff before real life vigilantism starts, because that's truly going to be chaos. Kick-Ass was a really fun movie, but the idea of regular people becoming so fed up that they start taking things into their own hads is really pretty scary, because there really is no way for an outside observer to tell a vigilante from a criminal.

Got a copy of #1 and added it to my box at the comic shop. First issue is pretty. Nice heavy stock paper (Just to say that it's nice to see that they didn't skimp on a new book and give us a poor quality copy), I like the art style, the mech and ship designs look really nice (Maybe models someday I'm interested enough in the first issue that I want to know more about several of the characters, and for me, good quality, interesting characters is what makes a book, movie or comic, so I'm definitely going to check out the comic and see where things go. Good luck with the book, You've got one more susbcription out here in the wilderness! ~Edit~ Added some commentary

I totally dig the mangled Engrish on the boxes, but I als had a "what the hell is that" moment the first few times I saw the thread.

I'll see if I can get a copy and add you to my box list at the comic shop. Congrats on getting it published!

Hey just a heads up, I checked in at Starshipmodeler this morning and they are listing that they got a limitted supply of the 1/60 scale Fan Racer kit from Yamato. I had forgotten that this was coming out and thought it was a magazine exclusive or something. Anyhow, they had 6 at 8 am, and are down to 2 now, so if you see this and are interested, you might wanna check fast. Mods, sorry if this isn't realy an approriate post for the model section, I'm not affiliated with SSM, just wanted to give the modelers here a heads up. ~Edit Search Fail~ I swear when i searched for the other thread that I just found, my search came back empty, anyhow, if you wanna merge this thread or just trash it after a couple hours I understand.

I've been waffling because I am going to end up living in a house made of model kit boxes if I don't get a bigger place soon, but I'm in. I can't let one of these glorious Moscato projects slip past. In for one.

I think I'm missing some sort of inside joke, but is this a new comic by a member of the forums? If so i'll reserve a copy at my comic shop and give it a chance. out here in Podunk TN, not much chance that they are just goign to stock a bunch of copies so i can stumble upon it.

Good to hear, I know I'll be patiently waiting to see what comes up. That 1/12 viper kit is incredible. The build up that I think Moffeaton? is doing with the LCD display in the cockpit is really incredible stuff. I just wish I had room for some of the cool stuff you've done.
-
Oh hey, and someday when you get the bug to do another Macross project, that 2500 scale SDF-1 would still be pretty darn awesome, Yamato's 2K scale wasn't really reasonable for anyone other than the ultra-fan with deep pockets, at least one other guy talked about doing a 2500 scale kit and decided not to. I know I still want one

Awesome, I want to get a picture riding it like a pony

I was just doing a little work on my Version 1 yesterday and thought I'd check in on this thread. Look forward to seeing your next progress update. I'm planning to hit Wonderfest this year, you going to be bringing anything to display?

The All Things Video Games Thread!
Ghadrack replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
You know, I'm glad that they are working on new tech, but 3-D is going to continue to suck for a long time while they work on trying to "solidify" the images. You know how 2D looks so crisp and clean and sharp, 3-D images all, and I can't think of anything that looks nearly as good as a quality 2-D image, looks fake and "thin" and poorly defined for lack of a better way to put it. It's probably going to take three generations of major improvement before I'd even consider dropping a quarter on a 3-D product aside from a cheap hand-held video game system. I think you'd have to be a lunatic to drop 4 grand on one of these current 3-D TV's with no serious content right now and 1st gen tech. I'm generally an early adopter, but this particular round, I've seen what they have to offer and I don't find it an improvement over the quality of image I'm seeing on old tech. That being said, Nintendo's Hand Held is probably perfect for me to dip my toe into the pool because I know I'll replace it 5 times as the tech improves and won't be out several thousand dollars. -
I guess I was putting this off because I wanted to get stuff at Wonderfest, was hoping these would be there and have a little Macross goodies in my trunkload of goodies to bring home, but that's prolly silly. Put me down for one right away! And whatever else you guys do in this like of 5k scale stuff I'm down for.

I have my PS3 hooked up to the internet with a wired connection (as does my brother) and we have the wireless connection disabled. I wonder if this is just a syncing error and offline PS3's will run fine, so long as they don't connect and get corrupted, or if I watch a Blu Ray disc on it, if it's still going to stroke out. I'm not so impatient that I can't wait a few days to find out what the score is, but I'm curious. My brother was up playing his last night after the clock rolled over (Offline, single player) and his system didn't take a crap on him this morning, but it wasn't hooked up to the internet. Hopefully just a hiccup in what has otherwise been an awesome system. I wish I'd picked up a third one to put in the closet when they came out. I was told that they have stopped production on PS2's so my giant collection of old games is going to be worthless if my new PS2 slim and backwards compatible PS3 bite it.

Payment sent for two kits. Thanks for the offer!
