Where in the f*ck do you see the Tougu-gun (sp?) symbol in that? Its the Mospeada Mars Division triangle thats the basis for this, not the UN Spacy logo. Really Keith, I realise you don't like HG and despise Robotech, but your argument is nonsense. Maybe here? Hopefully this tiny file attachment will work. I just cut out one of the logos and flipped it over, that symbol is three macross kite symbols plain as day.

I have noticed lately that as serious as people are about this election there has been a lot more civility than I am used to at the public level (not including campaign advertising). If I had to guess, I would say that most people know where they stand this year, and discussion/ranting really isn't going to change anyone's mind at this point. I was very happy to see an hour long line this morning out in bumbleskunk Tennessee where I live (Soddy Daisy). Unfortunately, I get the feeling that a lot of them are voting based on religious fearmongering, but I saw enough Union employees out this morning to feel encouraged. I voted this morning, Scan-Tron type, paper ballots in Tennessee,

I got in about 3 hours of play time on GTA:SA last night, I loved Vice City, in fact I spent about 1/3 of a weeklong vacation in Hawaii in the hotel room killing hookers and listening to 80's tunes, San Andreas so far looks to be a good sequel. There are tons of little things to do to occupy your time, the free roaming nature of the GTA series fits pretty darn perfectly in the southern California gangland theme. The soundtrack is great, the only flaw I can find with the game is that the lighting seems too dark to me. The targetting system can be a little frustrating but I think with a little practice it gets a lot easier, combat can be pretty chaotic though if you are surrounded by 2 or 3 cops, a half dozen gang bangers and there are some pedestrians trying to run for cover all in close proximity. I like the RPG aspect of the game and the character building, but it looks like they have engineered a pretty time dependent system, you will have a play a lot to max out your character's stats. Like Vice City though, I imagine that towards the end of the game it is still hella fun to be cruising around in a tank laying waste to the barrio with the army trying to stop you I am pleased so far, the GTA series has been a lot of fun for me.

I went to E-Bay and picked up HK versions from a seller I have dealt with a number of times. (Yeah, Yeah I know bad Ghadrack for buying HK boots ) Anyhow they were cool, and I think the 1st TV movie was at least as scary as either of the theatrical movies. And Gogo fom Kill Bill has a great scene Spoiler****** Unless I am missing something, the plot is very very superficial, they explain it in the first frame, an Old Japanese Ghost story describes a horrible curse that inhabits a place place when someone dies a terrible death there, and the curse is essentially an irrational demon that kills anyone who interferes with its territory, so basically don't go on it's turf or you are screwed. I don't have a problem with a simple premise like that for a horror movie, it makes for a simple story where your imagination can run wild. It also makes for a film that can have absolutely endless sequels if people stay interested. Cable Guy, Telephone repair man, Pizza delivery dude. Anyone in the service industry can be doomed to prolong the suffering

I picked up all four of the Juon movies a few months ago, There were 2 theatrical movies and two TV movies, Juon the Grudge part 1 and 2 and Juon The Curse part one and two, they are all different flicks, and they all essentially tell one big story about that house and it's cursed inhabitants/visitors. I went and saw the theatrical movie yesterday. They really picked and chose fun scenes from all of the Juon movies to put together one cohesive storyline to accomodate one big name hollywood actress that most certainly cost a lot to hire. In the Japanese movies the victims of the house were disposable, they all died. The japanese version did a lot more out-of-sync time jumping, back and forth to break up the story and show you bits and pieces of the things that happened in the house, the American version was a little more linear, I think they wanted it to be a little easier to understand since I don't think they are planning to have 8 hours to drag the story out over. Although, they have left enough material to make a sequel if they want to in my opinion. Overall, the Hollywood remake is a cool flick, and it has it's spooky moments but if you have the chance to see the entire Japanese run, it is worth the time.

AKIRA Live-Action Film Director Named
Ghadrack replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I am a huge fan of Akira, but couldn't care less about the "live action" version. I look at any movie based on a cartoon as going to be a total piece of dog poo and then if somehow they manage to beat my expectation great. As a purist though I could not and would not ever support such a travesty being put on film by spending my moneyto watch, rent or God forbid buy it. -
I am looking forward to the rail and the vehicle, John's modelling skills are astounding. On the subject of a raffle, if I have this straight you are talking about selling raffle tickets for a random chance at the three prizes above, but the raffle is essentialy independent of the pre-sale for the rail, the cost of the tickets does not go towards one's purchase of the rail, you are just buying a ticket? If that's the case it won't have any effect on my decision to purchase the kit one way or the other, I am too stingey to spend my money on random drawings. If you are planning to do a drawing for people that pre-buy the kit at no extra cost, well that is a pretty nice little incentive to pre-order and it may get you a few extra advance orders but won't effect my decision to buy. Good luck and keep up the good work, you guys are really doing quality work.

LOL New PS2 game that must be seen!
Ghadrack replied to Ghadrack's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah, well I have no illusions that it will be the greatest game ever made or anything, but it looks funny as hell I gotta check around and see if it can be imported on the cheap, I like a crappy game every once in a while -
LOL a friend sent me this link, This game is about a bikini model that is possessed by an alien squid, that grows her into a 50 foot tall woman and attacks Japan with her, your job is, well, watch for yourself. Japan rocks the House! I am definitely importing this one.

Movie.... Awesome I love everything they have done though, from Cannibl the Musical to Orgazmo, South park, Baseketball, it is all good. At any rate, did any of you remember the phone number from the chick's business card? it was 1-800-555-#### and I know there was a 43 and another descending number sequence, like 76 or 10 but I didn't get it written down. I wanted to call it, to see if there was a funny recording or something like the old number from Ghost-Busters.

These greatest hits collections that have been coming out the past few years are the best All of these have nearly unlimited replay value in my eyes: Galaga Sinistar Yie Ar Kung Fu Mortal Kombat 2 Robotron 2084 Street Fighter 2 (Just about any incarnation) Rampart (Castle warfare game) Joust Ms. Pac Man I still want Arcade perfect reproductions of Dragons Lair and Dragon's Lair 2 for a system, playing them on a DVD player is just lame. I also really want a copy of the Tron Video Game, the one where you played stages as tanks, cycles, and battle the MCP with your disc. An arcade perfect version of the Star Wars Trilogy game would really make me happy as well

I am going to reserve my judgement until I see some screencaptures or production art. I have very little faith in strong storytelling coming out of this, but if they hook up the earth defense forces with Hunter's lost SDF-3 then there are all kinds of possibilities for new mecha which have been evolved off the VF-1, remember that in the Robotech universe seemingly all mechanical advances occur on or around the space fortress because the rest of the universe is inept and magical robotechnology invades the residents of the space fortress and spurs them to create new implements of destruction Anywho, they could start it out with some Alpha re-hashing and then have Hunter de-fold in earth space with somme whoop ass VF-9999R Death-bot, who knows

BREAKING NEWS: ADV/Geneon/FUNimation Joint-Venture
Ghadrack replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Unless my memory is failing me Pioneer = Geneon, they have just renamed their anime wing. All that Trigun and stuff was issued under the Pioneer label originally, now it is a "Geneon speciali edition". -
That sounds a lot like some of the other re-cast houses, they are probably ordering a quantity through E-2046 or one of those HK outfits that do recasts based upon orders built up. Still neat to see interest in all things Macross out there

Don't be so pessimistic, on the time factor that is, just think, 100 years ago our only means of conveyance was horse and steam, now there is a car in every driveway, a computer in every house and 47 tons of our trash orbitting our planet. I wouldn't be surprised if we had teleportation technology, personal space craft and vacations on Mars by the time I am 90. That. or one of our new super weapons will have eradicated life as we know it, you know, either or

Ouch.... My brother and I picked up our copies today. Both are Widescreen editions, we brought them home and threw my copy of ANH in, chapter 26 and 27 have fairy severe video defects and digitized blockiness for a fraction of a second on 5 occasions, three in chapter 26 and 2 in chapter 27. My brother's copy is clean. Both purchased from different stores. At any rate, the flaw is on the disc, reproduceable in my Panasonic DVD player, Sony PS2 and portable DVD player by Toshiba. At any rate, it looks like maybe they rushed the factory to get the discs out....

I must be broken. I love Star Wars, I have my own Storm Trooper armor costume, see :My Webpage But I really don't have a problem with Lucas Upgrading graphics on his movies. I don't like him making substantive changes in the plot or storyline, but as far as him filling in frames with CG creatures or making "better" laser blasts, I think it is just fine. People get far to wound up over this stuff. The movies are supposed to be enjoyable, they are supposed to convey a story and a message. I think a lot of people are missing the forest for the trees so to speak. It's all good people, if you are so pissed about the changes, then don't buy the new set. I am sure you can find someone who has ripped the LD's to DVD someplace who will provide you wtih the old material if you look hard.

That is really cool, I lugged my PS2 all the way from Chattanooga to Hawaii last year, the new size reduction will make that little sucker extremely handy to carry around. Just by looking at the photo I think that it would be possible to remove about half the Pages from a 100CD case, insert a foam liner and you would be able to carry around a PS2, cables and 50 games in the space of one large CD wallet. The PS2 still has my money for travelling universal media device, games, DVD's and music in a pinch, the only thing that would make it better would be a rechargable battery

Well, I for one am going to try to support everything you guys do. The following is a list of things that I would definitely buy from you without question(So long as you don't go insane with the prices ) 1/72 Regult Glaug VF17 Nausger Thunder Hummer (I like Hummer better ) Zentraedi fighter destroids (Any and all) 1/48 Elint and Super-O conversion parts GBP (although I think Yamato making these is likely) Thunder Hammer armor
-
I didn't see the thunder hummer as an option, but I would kill a midget for one. Sign me up! (just kidding, no offense to any little people out there )

I want multiple votes, I would love to have a human sized gun-pod to hang on the wall, and play with, seriously, that would kick monsterous amounts of butt.

That is pretty It makes me very sad I missed the Joke Machine Recast run, that and that I am not the Arch-Duke of cool paint jobs. Great work man, you make us all jealous!

Glad to be of assistance. I love my Gameboy Advance SP, they are great little systems. I am a bit of a video game junkie though so I will certainly get a PSP and GBA/DS when they come out.
-
PSP, the last time I looked was supposed to hit the US in the first quarter of 2005, christmas 2004 in japan. The problem with it initially will be price and games. EB games says that the first game titles in the US are shipping 01/25/2005 and there are only about ten of them. After that it should be great. The PSP is rumored to be in the 275 to 400$ price range, it will play movies, games and music on Sony's proprietary UMD discs, sort of like mini dvds. Sony has stated that they will not sell UMD recorders to the public or give them to game developers though, so the only software will be officially released by Sony, this means that game developers will likely have to jump through a lot of hoops to get games to market, as sony did with the PS1. It should be a solid system, but it will be a slow launch I think. Game Boy advance SP is the way to go right now, tons of games, relatively cheap for the value (Around $70) and it plays every gameboy cartrige ever made. Thousands of titles. Nintendo is also releasing a new handheld sometime soon although i am not certain of the date, the Gameboy DS (Dual Screen). This is looking like a beefed up Gameboy SP, it is supposed to be backwards compatible with Gameboy and Gameboy advance titles but I have not seen a working model in action so I can't confirm that. The Gameboy DS will be supported heavily and if it is Backward compatible then it will certainly have a ton of games right from the get go. For a Christmas present I don't think you ca go wrong with a Gameboy Advance SP, price and games it is a great little system. If you want to wait and see, then the new Sony and Nintendo systems will be out in early 2005 but games for the PSP will be rare for several months but it will be cool, and the Nintendo DS will surely have a horde of games but will probably not be as graphically or technologically impressive as the PSP. (My opinions based on what I have read and seen. Don't take it as word of God.)

Absolutely stunning, I had no idea how cool the finished product would look. You guys have amazing skills. Period.
