I dunno, I mean it seemed like a nice vacant beurocratic reason to me, She might be psychic or able to read minds, high level government officials thought that perhaps she might have read their minds when they were thinking about whatever vile things they have done, jeez we better tie up that loose end, go capture or kill it!

I never saw an episode of the show (I was working nights during the short time it was on TV. Anyhow, I went to see th emovie openning night with a bunch of friends who were in love with the show, in fact they had tried to get me to watch the series on DVD last week before I went but I didn't have time. Anyhow, from the perspective of someone who has never seen the show, that was one cool movie! I thought it was very easy to follow the storyline, the characters were all great, good action, nice effects. Overall I had a really good time. There were a bunch of fanatics at the film, you know, classic openning night, sci-fi crowd, lots of clapping and crying but I knew that going in. I will say that it is a little bit of a bummer having essentially read last chapter of the book before having read the beginning, again I knew it going in, but i would recommend that for others who have any interest in seeing the show, rent, borrow or buy the DVD;s and do a quick two or three night crash course in the series before you see the movie, because it really felt like a post-season wrap up of the storyline.

Family Guy Stewie Griffin the Untold Story
Ghadrack replied to Otaku-Smeghead's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
That's the thing about Family Guy, it is supposed to be low brow, it delivers in spades and for me at least, it never gets old. I couldn't begin to count the number of times I have seen the original episodes, last week i loaded up the DVD player and watched the entire first two boxed sets over the course of two evenings and laughed my butt off again. I think Family Guy is one of the best shows on TV right now. I caught the movie a few months ago off the torrents, I bought it last tuesday and I have watched it or let it play while I was playing computer games a half a dozen times since then. Good stuff -
Great post Felix, it is a serious pain in the butt when you realize that you need continuing education and a limited with an uncreditted degree that won't permit you to advance without essentially re-training for years just to get the right piece of paper. Good luck Spacepirate!

Seriously, we need to go kick the casting director's butt and insert Agent one in the Venom role. Venom does not need to be a scrawny pansy man, it just should not be. (period)

Same old way? Here is an idea, I am about to build my Wing version .Ka but instead of weathering or building it straight I am doing it sort of monochromatic. I am painting all the colored parts except for one or two notable exceptions White, Two shades of Grey and Black. But anyhow, the idea is to vary things slightly without going crazy with strange pastel colors. Not really revolutionary or anything, but a welcome change when it gets a little old building them using the same coloring techniques.

2 feet of Inch and a Half PVC Pipe! Just kidding, but I bet it is gonna look that big!

I had the same problem, E-Bayed a record that came from the home of a person that must have chain smoked in his sleep. Anyhow, set the item in front of a fan for a few days, just airing it out helps alot. Over time it will fade, putting a fan on it for a few hours should make a significant difference. Good luck getting that nasty funk off your new stuff

Fishing wouldn't help very much. The liquid that the city is submerged in has been described as a "toxic stew" of muddy water, petroleum, sewage, the bodies of the recently deceased (May their souls rest in peace) debris from homes, the contents of a chemical plant, and as someone noted the contents of the mausoleums that house the dead in New Orleans, as they use above ground burial chambers for their dead in the city. I truly feel sorry, and a little helpless watching the mess on TV, I can't imagine what those poor people are going through. From everything I have read, been told or heard, the Salvation Army and the Red Cross are about the best avenues for donation at this point, I hope they can make a big difference fast.

Wrong section and see Red Cross Really sorry to hear about your family, I hope they all turn up safe.

Wow! That is a hell of a deal, sold! Thanks for the tips you guys!!!!
-
Because they can, profit margins on accessories, many reasons, not the least of which is because if they all do it, you have no choice. They are cashing in on people who want to have it first and fast. They know they can only presell as many units as they can get, and all of the retailers are limited in the same way. They also know that demand at release on many game systems is higher than supply in major metropolitan areas. So if the supply is limited and they make you buy a bunch of high profit margin crap peripherals with the system, they are still going to sell, they are going to make more money and lots of people are going to buy some garbage they would not have purchased if they were a little more patient. Personally, these bundle deals are all the incentive I need to just suck it up and wait till the system is released and buy them when they are plentiful on store shelves.

Thanks for the pictures Graham I am really excited about this, I hope that they get it done right, I have been really pleased with the 1/48 line so far, I am assuming that since this is essentially the same size as a 1/48 (even though it is 1/60 scale) it will be manufactured much the same way, with very little die cast. I think that this one will be a winner sales-wise, I know I will buy two as soon as they go one pre-sale

Sword looks good in the pictures, congrats on the find!. I imagine that A1 laughed himself to sleep last night thinking of the mere mortals, critiquing his photo then using a roll of flab for a blanket.

Christopher Walken Running For President
Ghadrack replied to Hurin's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
There was a funny skit on SNL, probably one of the most recognizable skits of the past 15 years on the show, anyhow it featured Christopher Walken as a record producer in heaven and they were making a super group reunion album, and Will Farrel was the Cowbell player in the skit. Anyhow, you need to see the skit because I can not retell it better than they did it, Christopher Walken, in his own special way elicits more Cowbell repeatedly in the performance, and it is freaking hilarious. The skit is on one of the Best of Will Farrel SNL discs, and probably on the Christopher Walken SNL disc as well. -
Isn't it Fujiko from Lupin III?

This will be a centrepiece for sure. Read the first post by AlphaHX... 319404[/snapback] Thanks, I neglected to check the first post for editting. I guess skimming the last random half dozen pages wasn't really the inteligent way to scour the thread That sounds pretty reasonable for the size.

I can't wait for DDO I have done several playing sessions well in excess of 24 hours, Everquest was the prime culprit, that game sometimes required you to fight in an area for ten plus hours to clear a zone or battle a God in the game. But I made the conscious decision to participate in those events. Sure I like to go to the skeet club and practice with my Shotgun, I am an Archery fanatic, I like to mountain-bike, but I also grew up playing video games, I enjoy them, I think I can have just as much fun playing a game that I like, especially when you are with 4 to 40 of your friends like in an MMORPG as I can out on the golf course. Six of one, half dozen of another in my opinion. I agree that there are those that don't understand moderation, and put all their eggs in one basket, but just because some peole are dumb doesn't mea we all need to have regulations on how we spend our free time. My opinion here, but I suspect that video games are going to become a major part of the lives of the elderly in the next few years to decade. They require only manual dexterity and the ability to read, and certain types of games don't require much if either. They are sedentary and entertaining, allowing even the disabled to participate in exciting confrontations and battles, mind challenging puzzles. Video Games are perfect for the elderly, they just have to realize the potential and get into it, the the game designers will see the retirment crowd dollars and start making games specifically for them.

Man that is gonna be big and beautiful, any idea ballpark-wise what this is gonna run? I am cutting back significantly on my toy/model expenditures this year, but I might have to start scrounging up pennies for this, it looks like a collection centerpiece

Not to rag on a dead guy, and I hope no one here was related to him but he was obviously unprepared for his marathon playing session. You can't just go out and run a 15 mile marathon without training, what on earth would make someone think they could handle a stud-length video game session without properly preparing, stashing 20 bags of Cheeto's packing in the Gatorade and using the bottles to relieve yourself at the computer, come on man, get with the program!

Since I love bad movies, I don't know how to answer, I don't really feel guilty watching them A few of the bad but good ones I love: Student Bodies Baseketball Visitor Q Cannibal the Musical Beware! Children at Play

Come on dude, that is just plain retarded. Should Playboy magazine be editted by the government because "Kids will find a way", should rated R movies be banned from theatres because "Kids will find a way", Should all forms of motorized travel be banned because "kids will find a way". Parental ignorance and personal responsibility are key here man, we live in America and while it seems to be "In fashion" right now to flaunt fake moral values and hipocritical religious retoric, the god damn fact of the matter is that we are all responsible for our own actions, as parents people have an obligation to their damn kids to do a good job raising them. Letting the TV and the Playstation be their source of inspiration and moral guidance is flaming foolish. Than to have the gall to blame the ills of society on entertainment, it just stinks of a total lack of any sense of responsibility. It is a combination of weakness and reprehensible self righteousness driving us in high gear towards facism.

See, I read about it in last months copy of EGM and I was really excited about the game. I like the premise, a bully that gets thrown out of school and sent to the "Technical School" where all the bigger bullies are, who then has to fight his way up the food chain to make it through. I'll buy it, even if it sucks to support a company that has some balls. I don't want to have my choices in video game entertainment mandated to me by some 60 year old turd who has never held a controller, let alone played a video game, but still beats his wife and watches kiddie porn snuff films on the weekend before he goes to church and tells everyone else what bad christians they are.

I don't think anyone on this board bought the Toynami Super Scale Veritech Battloid, I believe they were priced in the $3,000 to $5,000.00 range and were extremely poor sculpts / deformed and a fixed pose. They were mostly aimed at being sold as store displays, so if someone picked one up from an out of business gaming store or something, that wouldn't surprise me, but paying retail would just feel bad. If you do a search you wil probably be able to find that "realistic" nice helmets and chest armor were sold on a very limited run last year in Japan only, they are essentially collector's items only though that really not feasible for a child costume. You would probably be looking at the better part of a grand on the secondary market if you could find them. That isn't to say that you can't do it, but it will probably be a little expensive If you check some of the Cosplay sites you can find pictures of people that have done custom flight suits, maybe that will give you and your wife some inspiration and you could work together to put something together for the little fella. Good luck
