  1. LOL, I was going to say that the unusual thinng was that there is a complete full body pilot in there, instead of the customary "halfie" amputee that most models get. I guess that would have been an incorrect observation Thanks for the update, looks awesome so far!
  2. Am I the only one who checks the model section with a little fear because it's been a few days, given his track record of insanely awesome fast work, seeing a post from the captain that looks something like: It's done! [image picture of awesome] [image picture of awesome] [image picture of awesome] [image picture of awesome] [image picture of awesome] Send money, kthxbye
  3. It's looking Glaugtacular so far And dear sweet jebus it's gonna be hruuuuge! Thanks for the neat updates!
  4. Yeah, it is just out of control, I started cleaning up my paint box purging dead bottles and re-oragnizing my tools, now I have to clear off the desk and get my projects organized. No kids and that shotgun shell is a plastic fake that came as part of an aliens Pulse Rifle kit, next to it on the table are some aluminum granades from Aliens that I need to mount in the case, I just got em a couple weeks ago and haven't gotten around to pulling out the PR. That is the 1/48 YF-19, and I have the 21 that went with it still in the box they were from a run done several years ago here, I actually picked them up through the MW boards, I think I got them from Jessie Myers? They were a really good bargain, they are massive. Sho Nuff I've got one finished helmet that I did a couple years ago in the paint scheme of a friend who passed away's Marines from when we played in high-school and college. I'll probably do mine in a custom Space Wolves scheme I used back in the day. Unfortunately the Space Wolves really got exploited by GW, so a lot of people thought they were cheesy.
  5. Sweeet I look forward Thanks again for sharing pics and your project, this sort of stuff is uncommon, and really cool, one of the reasons I check out the forums.
  6. After the last post, I gather he's planning to update his site....
  7. R.I.P. I enjoyed much of his work. You know what, 72 years old, lead an eventful life, was in his waning years. AEA is pretty high on my list of ways to go out, if that's what happened, I hope he passed in a moment of bliss, there are a lot worse ways to croak.
  8. Super nice work on both My work bench has gotten out of control, I mean, really, really out of control I have to pack it all up and drop down to a single project. I'll likely be finishing either the defender or these first. I got completely absorbed wiht battlestar Galactica this last year so i've got a set of 1/20 and 1/24th scale ships from that series I am looking forward to getting started on as well.
  9. That looks incredible as you have it pictured. I think that people who haven't been following your build would be amazed if you showed a common object in the picture with the finished product to get a size of scale, that's such a fantastic piece, one of the best scratch builds I've seen on the internet. Thanks for posting and sharing your build.
  10. Looks great, also looks like I rubbed someone the wrong way a couple years ago Congrats on the finished product looks pretty rad, I'm jealous
  11. I've read a couple of the novels by Doyle, and I know that Holmes isn't supposed to be a wallflower, quite to the contrary, but you'd have to see the trailer to understand where I'm coming from I guess. It doesn't feel at all like a Sherlock Holmes movie from the trailer to me, it looked like Simon & Simon go to England and learn to be ultimate fighters.
  12. ROFL, have you guys seen the trailers for the Sherlock Holmes action combat movie starring Robert Downey jr.? I hope that trailer was misrepresentative of the contents of the film but I don't think it will be, they were bouncing back and forth between Sherlock Holmes being goofy and aloof, to slow motion, big sound, clips of a bare chested, bare knuckle boxing match where he looked like a raging beast. Seriously, it looked like a spoof trailer, or at the end it was going to be titled "Action Holmes, He'll blow your mind, and kick your butt!"
  13. Don't forget that this is a foreign language message board based upon an animated series originating a quarter of a century ago. I'd be surprised if any of "them", whoever you are referring to, were interested enough to ferret out all of the message boards around the world that deal with this stuff. I think we already know that the merchandising licensees are aware of these forums for all the wrong reasons.
  14. I fully expect that in T5 at some point Skynet will be hacked by young John Connor in a flashback to write code that gives it a hidden "Robocop directive" that Skyney cannot shoot or crush John Connor, so it has to keep throwing him out of frustration in all of the movies.
  15. Got my PM, made my deposit.
  16. I didn't despise it, I think it could have been a fantastic movie if they would have spent some time refining the dialog to make it not nearly as cheesy and to alter some of the rediculously unessecary and just plain assisnine stuff at the end. The robots and design elements and the gritty film quailty were awesome. Oh, Why the hell were the t-600's wearing ratty clothes? They didn't look like they had the range of motion to put on a shirt, were they supposed to look like scary hobos?
  17. One of the big complaints from true modelers and accuracy addicts is that transformation kits historically have had to sacrifice line art accuracy to make up for anime-magic that occurs in the transformation process, shape changing chest plates, shrinking verniers and thrusters, swing bars, floating joints etc, etc, etc. So having a nearly perfectly detailed static model is much more pleasing to some than having what amounts to a fragile, inaccurate toy that takes many many hours worth of work to complete for a substandard looking end result. PS. I'm hoping that these are going to be essentially Macross PG Kits.
  18. I was betting there would be a laugh to come about how many paypal deposits he got at 12:01am on the 25th I guess I can cancel my calendar alarm (or can I )
  19. Worst case scenario you hit a gold mine and can sell a million of these right But seriously what are you gonna do if actual initial, cash in hand, demand outstrips your inital planned run size? Is the number of spots based on the expected life of the molds? PS: And I normally pay by money order because I was under the impression that you preferred that method to avoid un-necessary fees and such, for the deposit I guess paypal is the method you'd prefer this time?
  20. I'm not making any promises about time frames because my kit queue has gotten way out of control (Wonderfest didn't help) but I've picked up a pretty nice set of resin kits. As I work on em I'll post updates to this thread, but it may be a while. I don't have all of the scales but I've picked up the Howling Wolf raider, I think it is around 1/24th scale. I have a copy of that large scale Raptor kit that John helps master/cast interiors for, a Frank &Moes Mk II viper, which if memory serves is a little closer to 1/20th than 1/24 and a Mk7 and cylon raider in 1/72. I snagged Timeslips NuBSG Galactica kit at Wonderfest as well. If you are interested in tracking down kits I got most of these in the last few months so I can put you on the right track if they are still available.
  21. Cool I'm packing my bag right now to head out in the morning, I'm pretty excited about the con!
  22. I'm in!! I want one! I hope my not checking the boards for two days didn't cause me to miss out. Eeek! And if you fall short an order or two I'll take a second one to help make the run happen. Deposit ready to go.
  23. I'm playing Valkyria Chronicles right now, wow this game is extremly fun, I'm glad i checked this thread and overcame my reluctance to buy it. When i saw the ads I was sure I would dig it, but for some reason I just couldn't pull the trigger, boy am I glad I did. I wonder what the odds are of some Gallian Chronicles model kits coming out, I would really like to build a model of the Edelweiss. I did a quick search all I could find was a few trading figures. With the anime out / coming out has anyone heard anything?
  24. What city are you from, in the event that a Macross auction pops up and is in the right general area of the country?
  25. I don't want to speak out of turn because i've never been before, this will be my first time, but everything I've read leads me to believe that this is a con aimed at a little older and more specific crowd than your general sci-fi comic book conventions. It's supposed to be Science Fiction Model focussed, less about actors and more about model prop builders and behind the scenes people. It's going to be a enw experience, I'm looking forward to it. I think Klywell and HWR MkII have been there before and can speak to their expereinces with with what it's like.
