  1. Here's my first attempt at a dynamic pose for the VF-19's gerwalk. I'm sure people will know what inspired it. Might've looked better if I had a YetiStand hehe. What do you think, Valkyrie Driver?
  2. The first pic on your last post looks much better. I was never a fan of the Y/VF-19's gerwalk mode. But let me try doing a dynamic pose with it too.
  3. Hehe. Maybe you should have taken the shot from a different angle. Kind of hard to see what it's doing there.
  4. This is the Orguss VF-1A
  5. Is this canon too?
  6. From which episode is that? I'm rewatching the entire Macross TV anime and I don't recall that scene. Also, the animation quality in that screenshot looks tons better than what's on the actual show hehe.
  7. Yeah. As long as it's put on correctly, it's pretty solid. If it pops off easily, then that means it wasn't, so you'll probably need to adjust the wing more.
  8. First time's always a challenge. But once get it done and understand how to position things correctly, it's actually not that hard to place the super parts on.
  9. Oh your VF-19Advance finally arrived? Did it meet your expectations?
  10. Hmmm, so based on what I've understood so far, it's not really that being reflective or glossy reduces your survivability in combat, it's whether you're using RAM paint (which just coincidentally happens to be matte by nature). If RAM paint was naturally glossy, then we'd see more glossy fighter planes.
  11. Does it have to be matte to absorb radar? Do light and sound waves behave the same way? (Meaning does something that bounces off light well also bounce off sound better?) Edit: I read up a little on Radar Absorbing Material and from what I understand, it's the composition of the paint itself (contains iron balls) that causes it to absorb radar, and not the finish. So I think a matte or gloss finish wouldn't affect its radar absorbing ability.
  12. In today's world, does having a matte finish really help with survivability in combat? Missiles are radar guided or heat seeking, and a matte paint job doesn't really reduce their effectiveness. Combat also relies mostly on radar for target location and acquisition. So whether or not your plane was shiny, it would've been seen by radar long before you can see it with your eyes. Lastly, if it boils down to a gun-based dogfight (no guided weaponry), I'd have a much harder time keeping my eyes on a shiny object that reflects the sun into my eyes rather than something that didn't.
  13. Wow that did come out nice. Didn't you have any problems with the nubs? That was one of the main issues with the Titanium finish kits.
  14. I like Brera as a character. He's part-human, part-Zentraedi, and part-machine. Don't get why people call him emo. Can't seem to remember any instance of him acting that way.
  15. Of course! I expect better from Bandai/Arcadia than some 3rd party
  16. Maybe they'll do something like that 3rd party company did for their Apollyon (not Megatron) figure. His legs looked much thicker than the Takara MP version.
  17. Ah I see. Sorry, I guess I read it out of context. I didn't get to see Gundam@EFSF's question. I thought your statement was about all 1/60s in general and not just among VF-1's. Regarding your last statement, nah, I don't think you hate Bandai. I've looked through your toy collection before and seen your past comments. But if I've somehow left that impression on you, then my apologies as this was not my intention. I usually only post replies when I feel things are being misconstrued, or when things are not being given due credit. Sadly, this mostly happens when people like to bash on Bandai or Nippon-Yasan, so I would understand if people think I'm biased towards them. I don't see much need to defend Yamato/Arcadia since there's more than enough people here that already do that, but that doesn't mean that I don't like them as much. Similar to you, I like Yamato/Arcadia/Bandai just the same, and have large collections from these companies.
  18. I think the VF-25 Renewal is more line art/screen accurate than the VF-1, which I would rank as a close second. Edit: Added pics from jenius's site, anymoon.com
  19. French?
  20. I left my Arcadia YF-19 standing one time and it fell face first (or uniboob first) on the table, slightly denting the tip of the nosecone in the process. After that incident, I will never trust it to stand on its own ever again.
  21. I think this version is the most well built among all the 171s so far. Most of it is pretty tight, even the wing pegs. But unfortunately the swing bar in the hips wasn't improved from before. I really wish they used a system similar to the VF-19 or something for it rather than relying on a spring loaded ratchet.
  22. Why would they want revenge?
  23. When pulling out that right wingroot peghole, try angling it a little upward as you do so. I found that this helps make it easier to pull out because the peg has a raised lip at the top of the end of the peg.
  24. None so far. I did accidentally loosen one of my metal wing hinges, but that was own my fault for pulling too hard. I think if I did the same thing to the Arcadia YF-19 I might've snapped that one off since their bar is thinner. Overall I think it's built pretty well.
  25. You can buy the Maruyama VF-171EX if you really need the armor set.
