Anyone know how much a used (but complete and excellent) Hasbro 14" Cloverfield Monster figure goes for these days? I'd like to post a picture but am not at home right now. Here's a listing from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0044ZOI32/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1455122010&sr=8-1π=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=hasbro+cloverfield

That's a sexy doll you got there garyboy. Is it based on a real life girl? Chinese perhaps? -
I could say the same thing for people that vote for the Arcadia over the Bandai. It's all a matter of preference and depends on what the person prioritizes (e.g. Personally I couldn't care less about the landing gear not being painted white, while I place a lot of importance on the wings not flopping about).

Ah really? I thought the Revoltech version was fine and not wonky. But them again it did have one swappable part. Which Vic Viper did you get to see/experience? -
Question: Is there an easy way to flip the "head covers" (those two flaps beside the head located under the cockpit) back into place when transforming to fighter/gerwalk? From the way it's designed, it seems you HAVE to stress the plastic in order to get it squeezed into place. Fortunately the plastic can take being bent a little, but unfortunately this motion also causes the flap to get detached at the joint. This just looks like a really dumb engineering design, unless I'm not doing it properly.

Yup he sure is awesome. Now if only they'd provide an update on Vic Viper. I know the original pln was to release these three. But personally, I wish they don't stop there and release more of the orbital frames and LEVs from the game (Naked Jehuty, Metatron Anubis, Ardjet, Nephtis, Inhert, Earth Forces LEV, etc). -
I don't think there is any one retailer that will be the "best" for everyone. Each have their own pros/cons and it's up to the buyer to choose which among them best suits their needs.Personally, NY is my preferred store mainly because they have the best item availability, relatively fast preparation of orders, upfront pricing on shipping upon preorder, fedex shipping option, chat customer support, fair prices (yes, I believe their prices fair when considering the ease of securing orders. On items that are not rare, their prices are usually at par with the best discounts), and low declared value on shipments (meaning no or very cheap customs tax) among other things. Other people prefer HLJ mainly due to their customer service. While others choose AmiAmi for their cheaper prices. Of course there are many other retailers available which may cater to other tastes. I think it's just important for people to understand what they can expect from each retailer before choosing to purchase from them to lessen any regrets afterwards.

I just got this myself today. The original full size release from 3A was considered 1/48 scale, meaning that this half-size version should probably be 1/96. However, the video review from CollectionDX showed that the full-size one was much larger than a 1/48 based on the size of the pilot figures. So I took a look at the cockpit section of the half-size and noticed that it has the right proportions to fit in a pilot from the 1/60 DX Valkyries. Therefore, I think this half-size Rex is actually more of a 1/60 scale and may fit in better with a 1/60 scale collection rather than a 1/100. Though if it really is 1/60, the Rex is much smaller than I imagined it to be especially when compared to Macross valkyries. -
Glad I'm not a fan of M2. Although the preview episode of Delta reminded me of it because it seems the "antagonists" are also using songs during combat similar to the Marduk and the Ishtar-type girls.

Cool to know that the quality seems to have indeed improved and that they had made some actual changes to the hip sockets. Thanks for the info! Unfortunately, I will have to wait until early Feb to get my 0S because 2 of the items I had grouped it along with the shipment got delayed the day AFTER I made the invoice payment. If only that notice had arrived a day sooner, I could've split the pre-order before paying

Thanks, I think I see a slight difference now. But again, my question is on why Duymon would say there is no adaptor for regular fighter mode. I understand that they're different, but doesn't that pic from the FB post show that you can still use the included adapter with the 1S on the fighter without fast packs? Or did that FB person just force it on, making it look like it can be used without the fast packs?
-
I don't understand. What is regular fighter mode? You mean w/o fast packs? But doesn't that pic show that there's an adaptor for it?
-
Nice photos. For some reason, these pics make it look like it's bigger than it actually is.
-
Question is, will the quality actually show an improvement with all these measures in place? If it doesn't, what would that mean for Arcadia?

I find it strange to read complaints about how the HMR doesn't compare to the 1/60 VF-1, when it was already established a long time ago that we shouldn't expect the same things because of the different scales. Also about how X parts should be integrated when it was already clear from the start that they're going to be swappable. This is just my perspective, but it just feels like some got into the HMR with the wrong expectations, even though the released product was more or less exactly like it was expected to be. Kinda like buying a 1/144 Unicorn Gundam and saying it sucks because it can't do a perfect transformation like the larger scale Unicorn Gundams.
-
I've never heard of anyone else having this kind of issue, on any of the VF-27 molds (old and new) as well as the Renewals. I know it sucks, but I think you got a bad copy. Question though, when you pulled the nose down, did you try pulling it forward first to give enough space to move it down?

Sentinel products make most other toy lines look cheap, including Arcadia products which can cost more.

My 17's ankles are super loose already after being untouched for more than a year. Even looser than the Bandai stuff. The difference is I don't think I can disassemble the 17's ankle joint to tighten it up.

The thing I like about Bayformers is that they have TONS of mechanical detail on the outside. So having it at this size really helps flesh those out and make a nice display piece. A VF-1 doesn't really show that much mechanical detail because of its sleekness. For the VF-1, they'll need to spice things up a bit more to feel like it's worth the same price IMO. To make up for that, it should have some or all of the features below: Some removable panels with superb mechanical detailing underneath Light-up gimmicks Diecast inner frame All of the above (and more) are present on the DX SOC Mazingers, so it's entirely possible. Lastly, I would prefer it in Battroid. That should allow for a waist joint which is important for really dynamic posing. -

Yup. Non-transformable. And I'm completely fine with that in exchange for over the top details, robot mode accuracy and articulation. The only way to make a 100% movie accurate Bayformer transform anyway is with nanomachine technology lol. -
Yeah I'm aware of those, plus the 22. That's why their underbellies are sleek. Just meant that the majority of VFs have a gunpod and I wanted more to deviate from that.

Shoulders too. Well, I guess it has it, but it's not that dynamic looking because the shoulder "pads" look so huge compared to the arms.
-
I'm happy it doesn't need a separate gunpod anymore. I was kinda getting tired of tucking gunpods in on the underside of fighter modes. Having an underbelly stored gunpod also detracts from the sleekness of the bottom.

It's from 3A (ThreeA). This is actually the first time I've tried purchasing one of their products. Quality isn't perfect, but it's still pretty good. And since most of their products have a lot of weathering detail, most of the issues are not noticeable. It's expensive, but well worth the money IMO.
