  1. Yeah, I'm a Macross fan, a Mospeada fan and a Robotech fan. I'm a living enigma.
  2. MacrossWorld is a good place to get Valks too. Seriously, I've been hooked up by other fans here many times. For durability, go with the 1:48. Haven't have a SERIOUS issue yet with ANY of the ones I've owned. Some minor things here and there, but they are pretty solid.
  3. That's very cool.
  4. It seems that Harmony Gold is utilizing a different market strategy than that. To me, it appears Harmony Gold is attempting to separate and treat Macross and Robotech as two completely separate IP's. Which, in all fairness, they are. From a marketing strategy, by splitting the two Intellectual Properties into two franchises is ideal, and is maximizing their market potential. The 1/100 TV Battlepods are still going strong, under the label of Robotech. Harmony Gold is simultaneously releasing repaints of the same mold under the Macross label. For example, the Robotech Battlepods are white and blue, and the Macross battlepods are white and green. As Macross/Robotech/Mospeada collectors, we are all too familiar with milking a mold. It's a similar approach here, but instead of just using different paints to sell the same mold, they are creating two different IP's (or labels) in which to sell these toys. I could be wrong, but to me this seems to be Harmony Gold's marketing strategy. I don't think they are selling under the Macross label because they find it more profitable than Robotech. In fact, it appears to be the opposite. The Robotech label seems to target the "mass market" (if you can call internet sales and small comic shops a mass market) and the Macross toys seem to be specific store or convention exclusives. This indicates they are targeting a niche consumer with the Macross IP, and going after the "mass market" with the Robotech IP. This strategy seems to appeal "smaller" audience with the Macross toys, and a "broader" audience with the "mass" Robotech releases. Food for thought.
  5. 1/200 Monster! That is one of my all time favorite Mecha! I'd love to put that baby together!
  6. WOW! I knew the designs of the SDF-1 TV and DYRL versions were different, but I never really noticed just HOW MUCH different they are! It's really night and day. Thanks for pointing this out to us! As for Yamato making a TV version, I think it's long overdue. DYRL gets most of the Macross love from Yammie. A TV SDF-1 would rock my world.
  7. I was watching the TV show today, and Hikaru was flying around a toy fighter in his apartment. It was one of the last episodes, cannot recall which. Is that a VF-4 he's flying around? I know the VF-4 didn't allegedly appear until Macross: Flashback, but that aircraft had a lot of resemblance to the VF-4. Maybe I'm wrong. My laptop screen is pretty small...

    VF-0D

I have do have some concerns, even if Yammie did release an 0D. One example outside of the troubled Macross Zero line is the 1/60 V2 VF-1's. They are just riddled with issues. From simple QC, to foggy cockpits, cracked shoulders, broken swing bar locks-not to mention they are more fragile than a model kit. They are beautiful toys, and it would be great to have everything in perfect scale, but I just cannot bring myself to take that leap. So, I stick to my tried and true 1/48's. So, I guess with all the issues I've had with Zero toys, I'd be very skeptical before I purchased an 0D. As always, before making an expensive purchase, I check in to trusted review sites like: macrossworld, collectiondx.com or anymoon.com, just to avoid as much QC issued toys as possible.
  9. Ordered a few sets now. These are REALLY amazing guys. You should order a few! You won't be disappointed!
  10. Invid/Inbits would be a dream come true! I have a small army of the 1/100 battlepods, having them fighting a swarm of Invids would be a childhood dream realized! Keep em' coming, Toynami! Great work! I am STOKED about that Glaug! Just awesome look.
  11. The pictures I've seen of the 1/100 Glaug look amazing! It'll be a bigger toy than the Regult, so it'll be more expensive. But the regult is only 20 - 30 bucks, so the Glaug can't be too much more? I'd love to get a few Glaugs. I'm building a small 1/100 army.

You get an Amen to that.
  13. Me too! Can't wait to get this toy!
  14. I am sorry to hear that. It's rather unfortunate that this happened to you. Especially with a toy that is so expensive. It will happen with anything that is mass produced, but it doesn't make you feel any better! The VF-0 is very intricate. I recently traded away an 0A, and took apart the arms to repair it (I did notify the buyer that it was broken and that I was going to fix it). I never had to work on the swing bar, just the sholders and arms, but beware! That plastic on the first release is weak. Be very, very careful.
  15. I'm in the same boat. I just got the VF-22s Max, and now I'm dying to get a 19. This is my favorite version so far (until the blazer comes out)...
  16. It would be good, but man, I just can't afford those prices! For now, I'll have to stick to my 1/100 Toynami's. Best 20 bucks I ever spent.
  17. Damn, that hurt! My jaw just hit the floor! This looks fantastic!
  18. Ha ha! Seriously, Toynami has gotten soooo much better. Their 1/100 Regults are AWESOME. And their Beta fighters are superb (I do have a few gripes, but it is close to being a true masterpiece toy). I just won a VF-22s Max on eBay for about 100 less than everyone is selling it for! I cannot wait to get this baby! Of course, Miria is my favorite, so I know once I get the Max, I'm going to have to get the Miria. Back to the subject of erosion, it is actually a very common problem with a lot of toys using diecast. Even if the toy is NOT metal, sometimes just the screws will rust. Worse, a rusted screw or piece of metal can yellow plastic. So, even if you keep your collection packed in a box, it's a good idea to check on it from time to time. Takara's own Masterpiece line, their Megatron was plague with "cosmic rust" (erosion in human terms).
  19. Put me down for 4.

    VF-0D

It's too bad. The 0D was really a beautiful fighter jet.
  23. I also prefer the 11C over the 11B.
  24. That is AWESOME.
