  1. So what's the issue with the price? It certainly doesn't look any smaller than the VF-1 FAST packs, so I can't see why it would cost any less than those.

Size is not always the determining factor for price. Actually, for toys it comes down to how complex and difficult it is to produce with demand also playing a small factor.

Because there are some that will, despite their own battying and complaining, buy pretty much whatever Yamato comes up with. (not pointing any fingers specifically) But if you like something and you want to buy it, don't say otherwise. Good point raised.

A couple of guys here are simply playing down the hype in hopes to create the perception that people are iffy about this unless the price is right. Honestly though, I dont think it works.

There are others, like myself, who are excited about it and have already said they'd buy it but only hope that it's no more expensive than the 1/48 fastpacks.

    Here's to hoping! ^_^

  2. God... awesome cant wait to get mine in. Great pic with the 1/48th, wanted to see that comparison

I pre-ordered from an american company. Best price I could find with shipping, it was 189. Should have it at the end of the month.

    http://www.cornerstorecomics.com

Thanks for the heads-up! it seems that it's THE price to get one for. With these things selling out left and right, I preordered one instead of waiting for it to come out like I usually do.

Great price. Considering how big and detailed this is, it's only $10 bucks more than the upcoming yf-19 plus shipping...

  3. I'm asking for permission to post pics, but may not be allowed to until the official release date.

    Graham

At this stage in development, it might just be my opinion, but I dont know why this can't be possible... the mags have had their exculsives, moeyo went buckwild with their prototype and all that's left is release... Yamato should know by now that this bad boy will sell well no matter what now, so fresh pictoral perspectives shared by Graham should only further push the remaining hype till release as well as alleviate the pain of waiting for this thing...

Let him post some pics yamato!

Yeah, I kept looking at that pic after I made the post. I didn't know for sure if the clear rim around the kite was evidence of a sticker or just an optical illusion due to the pic's resolution.

Seeing how the part splits and is probably a high contact point during transformation (correct me if I'm wrong), you'd think Yamato would just go ahead and tampo the emblems.

IMO, the WHOLE concept of having stickers, expecially for the important parts even now with all the advancements they've made, confounds me... STICKERS for toys costing over $150 dollars to buy... It just sounds ridiculous to me. It's actually like what I disliked about having diecast legs before the 1/48 era... it looks off... to have important parts stick out and look tacky.... or in this case slapped on....

That and yamato's reluctance to have another shot at the hands or make fixed posed robotic hands. grrr...

Two things that make buying yamato macross products less than perfect for me, every. freakin. time...

  4. The more I look at it the more I think I see flaws. Is there a neck on this thing? The chin is covered by the chest in the pics we see. That can be easily overcome if we can make it look upward. I'm having more and more reservations about battloid. It's gonna have all the poseability of a Toynami MPC... watch.

Jenius, I'm hope you are joking~

Dozens of people will want to strangle you for just for writing MPC toynami and the 1/60 yamato yf-19 in the same post, much less actually saying they'll be comparable...

the neck is there... I think it has to do with how the whole chest is positioned for it to not get in the way of the chin.

  5. we are in desperate need of some news here....now, this makes me think, where are the photoshop masters? anyone wants to recolor the preproduction photos with VF-19A color scheme? angel birdiess?

Two weeks is what we have to wait for any new pics or info to be released, which is basically when next month's hobby mags come out. Likely about a couple weeks after that, we'll probably finally see this thing in funny poses through photos that the people in HK will take, then a about a week after that we'll have one in our hands...

Graham, you got any morphine tidbits you can share with us mwers without a prototype and waiting in agony?

    ^_^

  6. I'm not a fan of the baby blue color scheme for the 19a... I hope yamato decides to do some other interesting schemes... though, I dunno know if I could pick up repaints at the price they're asking.

yep... the game version reminds me of those bootleg cartoon character t-shirts I got as a kid with funky coloring...

  7. It seems to me that the VF-11B is a lot easier to develop than the YF-21. IMO the YF-21 uses a lot more anime magic.

I'll put my money on the VF-11B being released first.

There are more important factors that decides which gets made first, and it's popularity and prominance in the anime... hence of the two it should be the yf-21 if anything. Given how well the yf-19 is projected to do, I think it's only a matter of time we'll see CADs on hobby mags...

i don't see why people keep thinking the new yamato releases are going to be $200?

all that being said, IMO, the 21 as well as the 19 won't be more than $150 shipped from HK. no one should pay more than that for these 2 releases. i paid $125 shipped for the konig monster, i paid $150 shipped for the VF-0 and both of those were the first toys of its kind. the 19 and 21 are nothing more than rehashes of past toys/models/resin kits.

It almost sounds like you're setting the price at will.

I really wish the prices you mention is what I can get one at.

No one's speculating this to be more expensive because we think so... the japanese retail price is higher than the vf-0 and many of the online toy stores are estimating it to be around $185 before shipping, hence that is where $200 shipped is coming from.

I'm going to buy my first from Neova which'll be $180 shipped to the US. $180 Shipped at Neova usually means you can probably get em at $170- if LUCKY$165 on ebay from HK w/ dent boxes and broken fins included. My money's going to Neova.

  8. I think this has got to be one of the most painful waits I've had to endure... all for a friggin toy.

    puahaha... :lol::mellow::(

I still think it'll be in my hands in time for christmas... I think yamato is banking on this toy as THE centerpiece of their christmas lineup...

More than worry about it being delayed I'm worried if they push them out too fast with double left shoulders to boot.

Oh well, I'm gettin me an ED-209 in the mean time so that'll alleviate the pain somewhat...

  9. Hi all, I'm new here. I have a question about the YF-19 toy. Is it all made out of plastic or some parts are diecast?

The toy looks great, I love the gear walk mode, I hope it's easy to pose. :)

    Welcome to MW~

Yamato shifted from using mostly metal diecast to minute diecast parts in recent releases. They're usually the parts that are prone to breakage after multiple transformations.

  10. I don't know if it was discussed before but three weapons hidden in the right arm might be included too. I noticed this while I was looking at my avatar. Just check the picture I captured from Macross Plus The Movie below.

    [attachmentid=37508]

If anything, I think if they're included, they'll be included in the fastpack fold booter kit.

  11. We're just about all gimmicked out now.

Actually, that's not quite true, there's still 1 or 2 things, not revealed yet!

Oh, and a correction from yesterday. There is actually a very small gap in battroid mode, between the curved middle part of the chest and the plane nose (uni-boob). It's not a gap that you can see through, as the inside of the curve has a straight horizontal bar across it.

    Graham

The view must be fantastic when it's right in your hands, huh?

sighhh.... It's good to be Graham.

  12. I think the colors shown in the pics are just prototype colors.

The Ghost will probably be the dark grey like in the Anime.

I can't believe that many people aren't as excited about this release as I am.

The YF-19 FAST packs/ Booster ruins the overall sleek look of the YF-19. IMO it actually makes the YF-19 look like a jet with a lightup dildo strapped to it's back. The Ghost makes the VF-0 look like a jet on steroids with an entire munitions depot attached.

hahahaha~ nice way to put the fold booster~ Regarding that, I wish I can just get the fast packs because I agree, the fold booster looks like a ladies light up happy toy.

I also agree that the Ghost is awesome. It looks good and more people here will probably jump on the bandwagon when we see the badass in some badass metallic gun metal paint.

I guess we're more or less letting yamato know that there are limits to price. They've been on a roll these days and we dont want to let them think in their head that they can basically print money.

Price it reasonably and I KNOW I'm buying a couple.

  13. lol yeh i reckon there is more features to come still :p

AND, i am not bought that there isn't enough room for a 2nd seat.

Surely it recedes back there an has enough room? Should be able to fit a Yang in there! :D

Why is everyone so into having yang back there?? He's a nerdy dude that'll look totally off sculpted in 1/60...

I honestly like the yf-19 as a single seater because the two seater absolutely does nothing to change the overall look to it... doesn't enhance it and I'm sure a 1/60 micro-Yang wouldn't make it any sexier either...

Keep it single seated, I say. :p

I think as far as the big features goes, I think we got a look at all of them... The only things I think are maybe left are features like the slide up tail fin or double jointed elbow (features that contribute to the standard functions of the toy) but nothing like the removeable head visor or gunpod clip.

  14. HOLY. SHIET. :o

    Thanks for the pics Graham!

Wow, this is what I get for sleeping early last night...

missed two pages of this shiet!

Damn this looks awesome. I'm jumping up and down that they stuck with the black canopy lining.

...and dayam, they actually went in and painted the opened edges too, which they didnt do for previous valks.

I'm so glad they stuck with the bluish grey rather than a blue... I'm so happy~~~ sniff sniff**

The extra features are all welcome.... I'm pretty good with not losing removeable stuff so it's great, however I do think a couple people here will wail when their 19's visor falls off into the abyss. :D

The twisting elbow is genius, as is how they handled the canards for battroid transformation.

The place where the hips join in fighter! The mechanical detail! That's nice!

    Everything looks good.

    Concerns I have:

-I hope the macross kite is tampoed on because I dont know how they expect us to put a sticker on a place that opens up for tranformation.

-The elbow, although ingenious, looks like a possible QC issue waiting to happen.

-So many parts that separate, (which is more to do with kawamori) I fear there might be gaps and more chances of loose joints a lot people here despise. I hope for the sake of improving the image of their first runs, they tighten every bloody joint like a rusted tin man... make people work out for a different pose!

  15. I doubt that the intake covers fold in. That impingment on the intake, see the lumps up in the inner corner, would prevent such a thing.

yup. foldable intake covers would be a pain anyway to fold back to closed position. I rather them concentrate on taking out the unsightly gaps and tampo printing all markings including the macross kite.

  16. Well the SV-51 has kind of a screw shaped head. Same with the VF-4. And the YF-21. :)

    Haha!

    YF-21 YF-21 YF-21 YF-21 YF-21 YF-21 YF-21 YF-21 YF-21 YF-21 YF-21 YF-21 YF-21 YF-21 YF-21 YF-21 YF-21 YF-21 YF-21 YF-21

Lemme guess, you think it's the yf-21!? :)

I think so too... Graham got us playing hangman for all this time but I think the 21 spaces correlates to the yf-21

  17. We should just drop it, we're only making it worse on ourselves...

    BEST comment yet this thread.

    It's pointless really...

Honestly, Graham is awesome for providing scans every month, relaying our concerns over to yamato, providing this area where we can talk about the common passion we have in Macross, but as far as advanced info goes, we get what the mags release.

Spy prototype shots actually come from the very nice members who take shots at conventions and stores, not from graham... Anyone with an imagination can figure out more about yamato's future plans than relying on the info graham is allowed to give us...

    "2007_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ !"

    uhhhhh.............................................................................................

    #$%$^@#$%@#$!~!!!

soo..... 2007 WHAT?? Give us a bloody letter or two! Like we didn't know shiet will come out next year... Shiet comes out EVERY fricken year... and just as predictable (and funny) as that fact is how and when they allow Graham to reveal all this shiet... DRUMROLL~~~~~~~~~~

w/ Mags scans all of japan already looked at for a day or two...:rolleyes:

I mean at least let the bloke release some high res images the mags are using... instead they restrain him to the point where he's playing hang man with us (but without letters!) yipeee!

  18. This is posted in the toys section, so at least I know(???) its not a model. At least that's some money I'm saving! - MT

I know it's not a model because he is the TOY man of MW and he also didn't even know about the Wave SDF-1 coming out before someone here posted about it...

I believe anything he knows about in advance (prior to any official announcement) is probably related to toys... hence it's a toy(s)... more specifically with where his allegiance lies, YAMATO. So it's a YAMATO TOY(s).

I also think his hint about it possibly being a toy from a different company is rubbish... Unless he's made some connections with some other manufacturer, which since it can possibly have yamato miffed, the chances of that, I think, are pretty slim..

The most telling quote from Graham's post is the following:

Graham...............screwing with your heads since 1999!

Yeah, thanks a lot Grahammister~ acting like you're giving us a hint when it's just another screw in the head~ haha
