D, Looking GOOD! Your stickers pop up out there. Might want to print up some decals or have Devin do some for you. Keep it up.

Ditto. Get THE Macross ICON and be done with it. If you don't have one, you're not a true Macross fan. 1/55, 1/60 or 1/48 scale is fine.

There is a packing order for Set #2. Minmay was in Front (both) and the CASE packing would determine which box had chase cockpit or darkhair minmay (same slot). Thats how one dealer explained it to me. Opened two NEW boxes in front of me, pulled out both minmays and the chase cockpit. The rest were sealed.

Tom, Good idea but hide the switch! Put it UNDER the boosters so it looks OEM. The_Major, With your tranformable SDF-1 kit, your HW2 mod and your input here, I just want to THANK YOU for helping us out! Truly a great Macross contributor and fan.

Actually, if the RO-X2A was a particle beam cannon-more than likely that would be stated as other Macross mecha which have particle beam weapons and their spec data states so (Tomahawk Destroid, Armored GERWALK development, Stampede Valkyre etc.). Though unofficial, MAT (Chiba, et. al.) has specified that the Strike Valkyrie's beam cannon uses heavy x-rays. Wouldn't Heavy X-Rays (any X-Ray type) be classified as particle weapons since x-rays photon particles at a certain wavelenght? Continuous output of particles would produce a beam or at least impulses of "shots".

FV, That was a great read! I think I need to pickup Space Battleship (was cruiser) Yamato and the whole Gundam Series DVD sets again (gave them away cuz the story about a kid fighting off elite soldiers... ugh... ok save it for another thread).

Yes, it is my understanding that all the TV version FAST Packs (Hikaru VF-1J, Max VF-1J, Milia VF-1J) are the same mold and therefore have the same problem. It is also, of course, my contention that the problem has persisted throughout all three releases because the arm armor pieces were all manufactured at the same time and stockpiled. Ahh...ok. Thanks for pointing that out. Strange that I didn't hear those complaints about the arm armour until the Miria 1J. Maybe I wasn't paying attention. It's true. It sucks to have it like this but I hope the next run will be better. Maybe Rohby can offer up a fixed version of his TV ARM FP recast for everyone.

Post pics and how to please! So many customs, so little time...

Actually, the strike cannon is a particle beam period. If you watched the last scene in DYRL where Hikaru's Strike VF-1S unloaded all of hell into Doza, you'll see his strike cannon hitting first with a long beam. It blew his head out along with peppered shots from the GU-11. There is no need to target anything there at that time unless the micro missiles required target info. If the strike cannon was used to target capitol ships EG Macross II VF-2SS, then I would say strenght wise, the Strike VF-1S could blow a hole into a GBP-S VF-1S before all the missiles landed. Now, it also remains to be seen if the VF-1S can outfly that barrage of incoming micro missiles. Which game was the stampede from anyways? It is listed in Design Works. Edit - Grammar

Kaiyodo "Robot Museum Series" Strike Valkyrie
Neova replied to Skull Leader's topic in Macross Reviews
Great job there! These things are tiny! But the battroid proportions looks pretty damn good next to that chunky Arii VF-1D. -
Nice Toy Store... err... collection you got there... damn... you really have all of your toys spread out like that in the living room and towering over your TV? Now that is dedication! I don't even have that many toys lying around ... I don't even have my customer's toys long enough to photoshoot and I sell this stuff... I need another job!

Awesome! Absolutely one of the classic PC tactical games. I had the collector's edition installed in my PC and glad to have shipped it over! Muwhahaha... If you guys like X-Com, checkout the remake "UFO : Enemy Sighted" Or whatever that name was... Wonder if someone would make a Macross turn based tactical game in English?

You guys make this Anima Spiritia sound like endorphins or adrenalin. I guess I need to sit down and watch M7 for myself.

Well....I won't flame you....but I will respond. I really doubt price discussion on this forum affects prices set by the market. E-tailers try their best to make a marginally fair profit from their toys and by the way I see it, almost everybody has ABOUT the same price, plus minus a few dollars. Yamato spies this board to check out how much they should sell their wares? Urmmm....highly doubtful. Your GBP armor example....is flawed. Did you expect to get similar prices as Japan's retail price? I'm not surprised that it becomes $40 after shipping, import taxes etc. Well...i don't know how much are dealer's prices, but i doubt the extra $20 added on top of Japan's retail price is made by the e-tailers and retailers. Those probably go to costs of bringing the thing in in the 1st place. My 2 cents. AFAIK, most sellers charge either x % or x $ on top of thier cost. I bet some dealers probably buy at near retail, ship it back to the USA then have to account for their time and expenses, thus higher prices. Most etailers haven't sold a single product at full retail prices but if you can show me a 20 USD RETAIL price in Japan, I bet I can still sell it cheaper before shipping. The GBP was last listed at 3800 YEN in Japan retail ~ 34.20 USD at current exchange rate of 110 YEN to 1 USD. I'm selling it for 30 USD preordered. Japan has the highest prices for toys I've ever seen though. BTW: Yamato, I'll pay 30 USD 2800 YEN for the 1/100 VB-6 when it comes out.

Can you take better closeup shots? Looking good there... I need to help you complete your collection

I saw this on Yahoo Japan (should be in the auctions forum) but I wanted to know if this is a NEW bootleg or old bootleg? and what scale is it? 1/3500? If new, where can I find it cuz I need to get me a few for customizing! Graham, any ideas?

I need to chime in here since I actually sell Valkyries. Bottom line: Hurin is right. Fact 1) Yamato made their money when they sold their products to wholesalers, distributors and dealers! Fact 2) Retail and street prices does not affect Yamato (see fact 1) Fact 3) Yamato can control supply and demand through production runs. I have not seen dealer pricing drop significantly with each 1/48 Valkyrie release. There is always a first run at x amount and if market demands more, a second run of Y is made to fulfill it (re-issues). There is no GLUT of Macross items here. In fact, all Yamato Macross products before Hikaru's Super VF-1J is thinning out. I'm having a hard time sourcing older Yamato products for customers since they are not made anymore. Fact 4) All of the price fluctuations in HK (don't know about USA) are due to HK business practices - it is not unusual for HK shops to make 5 or less USD profit on any product, even if the product is selling for 100 USD, and dumping / speculating by customers looking to eat some loss to move on or play it like the stock market for chase / collectable products. I'm sure it affects the global marketplace for CUSTOMERS somewhat but Yamato is not affected. They made their money since they've managed their production and market projections carefully. Whether paid customers dump or speculate on their products, Yamato will not lose or see any profits gained or loss in the open market. In HK, no toy trend last more than 6 months as there are always newer items coming out. Yamato is smart to have a refresh product every six or so months otherwise Macross would have died already or have a huge glut (EG Bandai Macross products except for Gashapons) which would provide cheap but no foreseeable products from that manufacturer. Also, I see Yamato as THE Macross torch bearer right now. If it were not for Yamato (and Bandai before they bailed), those Gashapons and figures would have no market. Instead, we are seeing Gashapons of Macross items being absorbed, speculated and jacked up in pricing over the sea of DBZ, Ultraman, and the BIG ASS Gundam market. A lot of old Macross items are being sold faster than 6 months ago. Old Arii / Imai 1/144 - 1/ 200 model kits (gashapons) and old Macross toys are swept up by other collectors and many ebay sellers. The old Macross product market is actually healthy (business wise) but bad for consumers looking for cheap older stuff. Yamato is (hopefully) also releasing new 1/100 value Macross Zero / VFX products to ride the coat tails of the OVA and hopefully they can attract new fresh customers and inject more fans into the franchise. From then on, if the market can bear it, why won't bigger and better things come out from them? Building market share is key in a business and value is key for the masses. Us Macross Hardcores would still be here waiting for those perfect 1/48 destroids and enemy mechs and coffee table monsters. Thank God for Yamato and their fateful service to Macross fans and restoring the franchise as a contender in the toy market with both value, enthusiast and premium product lines. We, Macross fans, never had it so good since the last flood of toys worldwide through the Robotech license back in the good old days. BTW: Valkyries are not as cheap in HK as everyone thinks. Its still a grip for legit dealers (me and Toy-Wave being two of them) and the only cheap stuff I've seen came from "unofficial" sources which you can find out about through a search in this forum. You can see Yamato take a phat loss there along with legit dealers. Macross is MORE of a premium market item than Gundam here and surpassed in normal street price by those premium SOG items. Nobody sells at SUGGESTED RETAIL in HK which is ~ 148 USD for a normal Valkyrie. We've already slashed prices compared to Japan. It’s just the shipping cost which is an evil necessity.

Depending on how it scale, details and price, I would be down for 1! God, there goes the rent again!

I asked only cuz I was wondering when Toynami / Harmony Gold was going to fedex a C&D letter to those selling Yamato Macross products OUTSIDE of the USA. PS: I have my Imai Legioss kits for my shelves when they're done.

I think the 1/100 is a new attempt at TWO new licenses (Macross Zero and Macross VFX / VFX2) with better things to come in the future. Yamato started at 1/72 with Macross Plus, and 1/60 with DYRL followed by the coveted 1/48s. They are back at the drawing board with a YF-19 FP design and I hope after the 1/100 VB-6 and VF-0S, we'll eventually see 1/60 or bigger M:+, M:0 and M:VFX toys just like the 1/48 DYRL line. There is no reason why they are stopping all Macross development for the future. My money is on the CF for the next 1/48 too, even thought I want the VF-1D, VT-1 and VE-1!

Here is what I want to know: 1) Alex to confirm this story 2) Scans of C&D that are current 3) Proof of claim You cannot enforce a claim without proof. Thats like some joker telling you to get off the block cuz he claims to own it. If someone got a laugh out of it, that person would be lucky, let alone beat to a bloody pulp.

I currently have 3 other guys ahead of you for VF-1S heads (why does that sound so wrong? ) so I won't be able to provide that for you now. Someone who may have extra VF-1A heads, please help out Hirohawa who only needs the antenna. Haterists, thanks for the support.

I can offer 1/48 parts for now. If there is enough demand for 1/60 parts for me to break even, then I will try. Everyone seems to want the same parts so its harder to move the leftovers. But feel free to post your 1/60 and 1/72 requests here. Others may see it and might be able to help out. I'll try to keep the list updated.
