  1. Thanks David! I'm on it like Vostok 7 on Millia! PS: If ANYBODY wants me to pickup the Hasegawa 1/48 F-14D kit or F-14 A Atlantic Fleet kit, let me know. I'll try to nab all in the store before someone else swoops on them. Price was 40 USD for the F-14D kit and 30 USD for the F-14A Kit. Shipping is going to be a tad up there ~ 15 USD due to size and weight.
  2. I have not received any info about Max's Q-Rau yet so that 5/2004 looks fishy to me. I will confirm this in a few days...
  3. I have access to this set. PM if you want a set.
  4. Great Job! Now go make the DYRL Mass Production Purple Version! BTW: Are your decals vinyl stickers cut to the right shape? Like those ricer decals?
  5. Interested. Actually, I found Hasegawas's 1/48 F-14D kit today! Should I nab that kit David? I already have the F-14 A Jolly Rogers kit. I'm willing to kitbash if need be.
  6. Mods: please leave this post here for MWers... just for 24 hours: AnimEigo Remastered SDF-1 Macross DVD 3 Box set for ~ 120 USD! If you missed it the first time or dont have it yet, get em here: Box 1 Box 2 Box 3 Just got my set! CA residents must pay tax! Grr... I hate tax...

Nice for low poly work. But do it justice and get some more polys in there!

Anasazi37, That was nearly what I was planning to do except I would use cardboard sheet sides so I could toss them out and replace em, have the vent facing me on the back plane and stick a filter in there somewhere. The top vent is a better idea since I won't spray directly into the fans and clog them. Can you tell me what was your fan size and noise level? I fully remodeled my parent's home last year with a friend thus the kitchen range hood idea. The hood we bought was expensive but man, did it clear the room of any foul aerosol quick! I need to find a place for a charcoal filter setup and wonder if I should mount it before the fans to or downstream after the fans. It also gets super hot and humid during the summer here so a secondary use would be to vent the room's heat fast. Thanks for sharing. I'll post my findings after I do more research. Pics of commerical booths for 200+ USD... little guys compared to Anasazi37's custom setup: Mr Hobby Paint Booth

    Paint Booth

I just moved and need recommendations for a new spray paint booth / hood setup. I have a room where I will setup my workshop but the one window leading out is small. 2 foot wide with a safety gate wrapped around it. The best I could do is get a 12" opening and stick a funnel out. I will need a filter in place and need to have the booth collapse for storage if need be. I was thinking of McGyvering it with a 12 - 14" AC fan, wrapped in cardboard schroud, charcoal filter in the back and funnel / ducting out the window. Or I was thinking about one of those 16x 20" kitchen range hoods with twin fans but those cost ~ 250-300 USD. Very powerful though. I live in an apartment complex so I need to have that filter there to keep from killing small animals and children, not to mention painting my neighbors windows. I saw those Tamiya and Mr. Hobby paint booths but those were like 150 USD and up here. I'm not in the US btw so shipping will hurt unless the high quality domestic units are cheap. Let me know!
  13. I would buy a squardron of VF-2SS and Metal Sirens. But Bandai won't put PG grade or near Yamato grade Valkyries out since the market is so small and their focus is on Gundam. But as everyone here has said, NOT GONNA HAPPEN. Someone get cracking on those 1/48 Macross II Valkyries and Marduks Enemy Mechs!
  14. Oooo... did you hear that? he called you a bitch... C'mon ZD show him what you got... What's that? *wshshshwhshshshh Man, Blaine he said something about your mom... that ain't right... OK boys, FIGHT!!! Exo, You remind me of that one kid in grade school, middle school, high school, college and bars who round up the combatants! INSTIGATOR!
  15. OMG! Brilliant! Beautiful Master Cheng! If this VF-0S is not enough to have dedicated model gallery, I don't know what it will take! Graham, please set one up! I'm sure Shawn would be ok with this!
  16. His aircraft carrier is brilliant. I wish I had enough space for this thing! Imagine encased in a glass housing with legs, it would make an incredible dining table for 6. There would always be something to talk about. http://www.naritafamily.com/Scalemodel/shi...07-0756_IMG.JPG
  17. The Tomcat is beautiful but that 1/350 class diorama is amazing. Someone needs to build a SDF-1 Dio like that!
  18. Ah my bad! I thought those shots were from Cyclone! Hee hee! Awaiting screenshot quality. Thanks for the correction Panon!
  19. Don't worry about it. The video quality on the Animeigo set being considerably better than the R4 set is more that worth the difference in box designs. Panon, Can you qualify this statement with side by side comparison screen shots of the R4 version versus AnimEigo's R1 version? Here is Graham's comparison of AC (HK Bootleg), AnimEigo and Bandai's 2001 (over 450 USD) versions. http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/video/..._comparison.htm So far, we know this: R1 = 9 x Single Layer DVD R4 = 6 x Dual Layer DVD Same footage, same audio , but has different box and inserts. If the R4 version turns out to be EXACTLY like the R1, I'm buying this since asap. Aussie guys, help us MW'ers out here please with some links to buy this set! We should also Rx region vs boot comparison of other Macross DVDS such as FB 2012, Mac +, M:2 and etc... Edit - my bad... see below for better comparison pictures.
  20. You can coat / dunk the thing in future acrylic floor polish to fill in the cracks and pores or you can buy automotive plastic polish such as Mothers Brand... Check Kragen's , Pepboys or other automotive places. You can also try some other stuff. I found a link for free plastic polish so have it sent a friend's house or PO Box so you won't get mail spammed http://www.oldphones.com/novusfreesample.html
  21. I'm waiting for The_Major to get a digital camera! Christmas Tree VF-1S would be awesome. I'll perch that Gerwalk on top of my tree! Oh yeh and the rest of his dioramas!
  22. I thinking here can we have someone re-cast BP8 and would it be strong enough?!? I can loan a donor piece to have this done! Or perhaps machine a few parts out of something else. I don't want to chop up a bunch of Valkyries only to source that one piece.
  23. I had always dreamed this would be one of the ultimate online games to make. Players would choose X-Com or Alien factions. Both sides have different tech levels to start out with the the goal of Earth domination by Alien forces or Alien Annihilation on Mars by X-Com forces X-Com: A mad tech tree starting with modern conventional and some "experimental" technology then up to building all of the ships to fly to Mars and kill alien scum. Aliens: Has advanced tech but limited resources (must have resources mined in Earth's ocean or mined on Mars, and transported to earth to build bases). It would be a mix of FPS, with a tactical overview / strategy ala Natural Selection Mod for Half Life and arcade physics military / space sim like Freespace / Halo. Drive the tank around a Mars or Ocean Alien base with your squad of X-Com Marines while fighting off waves of Alien who will harvest your left over bodies to produce hybrids... Multiple commanders would be allowed to control squads and represent countries or Alien sub factions of course. Go UN Spacy X-Com Squad
  24. Its been YEARS since I remember anything from my HS electronics class, but I think you need to connect one wire to the middle and one to either end. When the switch is on the side with both wires, its on. When the switch is on the end where a wire is not connected, its off. BTW: You need to get a resister in there to keep from burning out your LEDs. I can't remember the resistance by the color bands (look this up on the internet) but you need to do some math with the voltage required for LED (total power ), battery power (input power) and resistance required (voltage to subtract). You can test your LED by touching the TWO ends to both polar terminals ( + and - ends) of the battery too. Check to make sure it has enough juice and it doesn't get too hot.
  25. Use a plastic polish to remove the fog. I gotta check on my CSC soak. Its been like 6 or 7 days and I forgot about it! Haterists, thanks for the phat tip bro! I need someone to send me a can of that stuff. Brasso! Haterists approved! Which is saying a LOT!
