I don't know about you, but I thought Fansproject's UM (City Commmander) was absolutely amazing, and it was obviously an after-market design. I would not buy an "only-UM" toy, it's the sheer number of options that I like about the FP offering.

Heh, I like how the flash on the shield kinda makes it look like the Pinpoint Barrier effect .

Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Renato replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
About a year ago Graham posted a request for images of those internals. This was our biggest hint that this valk was in the pipeline and thus, I would be extremely surprised if they didn't include that gimmick. Great news, either way. GAMLIN KICK!! -
That list is old now, too. I have Yamato Proto-Garlands and other such calamities to report, but I can't be bothered anymore.
-
Argh. You know, if these euphemisms/irresistible-opportunities-for-jokes continue I know I'll have an exploding head before the toy even comes out.
-
Think of them as "official doujinshi". Thus, although I don't have any of them, I do believe that all the art and articles are original and unique to these publications.

Of all the metaphors... really?

I for one would like to see newly-filmed retrospective interviews with cast and crew, looking back at what it was like making the movie. No anime DVDs I know have ever done that, though, except maybe the Akira one, but that's because they went back and totally re-mixed the sound for the movie, and made a semi-documentary focusing on that. Even then, they didn't get the voice actors to talk. Maybe commentaries. Kawamori has talked in depth about making the TV series and movie in many, many interviews, but it would be interesting to get Mikimoto, Itano, Ishiguro, etc. together again and reminisce. I just don't believe Bandai Visual thinks that would be a good investment. edited for clarity

Yeah. I don't really agree with "if you like the toy and you want it you cannot feel disappointed for something as insignificant as the colour of a little bit of the hands", because the reason I like the toy and want it is because I thought it would be absolutely perfect... But, never mind. It's not just that, there are also uncertainties regarding the intakes, etc. At the end of the day, I know all too well by now that with Macross toys it's all about "settling" for something, and being prepared to fix it when you open the box.
-
Just to add another account of these enigmatic add-on parts: they are indeed packaged in a separate box. However, I have seen them sold in stores in a sort of "double pack", that is, the box with the main yf-19 toy and the other box of yf-19 add-on parts cellophane-wrapped together. And I would say that that is how I predominantly see them around, in fact i do not even remember ever seeing the add-on sets by themselves on store shelves without also including the main toy box also. Make of that what you will.

It would be interesting if they engineered that figure with Powermaster/Ginrai/Magnus attachments in mind for later.

You took the words right out of Carl Macek's wandering spirit, returning to check on things after a trip around the Solar System. I really think he was genuinely displeased with the state of affairs at HG regarding Robo--tech.

Me too, I have MP-1 first edition, and also G1 Prime and Hybrid-Style Convoy. I only ever really display the THS one on my shelf. That said, this MP-10 really looks surprisingly good. They did a nice job.

Okay, all things aside, EVERY SINGLE comment on that article is pure comedy GOLD.

Just to fill in some details as to what he's actually auctioning off -- it's the RIGHT to commission him to draw your most beloved machine/vehicle/whatever. So if you own a car, or a cherished mountain bike you want immortalized "BOX-ART" (model kit packaging illustration) style for posterity, Tenjin will draw it, paint it up in his own inimitable way and give you an A4 version. Sounds wicked cool to me, and the chance of a lifetime. I doubt you can just say "oi, draw me a VF-1, mate", though.

Get well soon, man.

Thanks again for all the Furoku stuff. Love it. As I said in the PM -- I repeat it here for the benefit of all reading -- there was never a UMD movie disc with Ace Frontier. That is a mistake, they are confusing it with Ultimate Frontier. Also, I can confirm that the openings/endings are indeed creditless. Boinger, I sent you a PM with some links that were posted on these boards a while back. Hope they are useful.

Heh, sounds like they got them the wrong way round, then

That's a long list of stuff I've always wanted. Like Mylene Graduation. I do have a couple of things I may be able to help with, though. Firstly, Macross 7 Let's Reveal the Galaxy's Heart!! is a Gameboy Color game, and can easily be found online using ROM searching sites. As for the Macross Furoku Art books, I have a couple laying around. When I have time I will scan them. Is that the complete list, though? I notice that at least the "Macross Dictionary" is not on there, but I don't remember seeing it in Macrosshare. I don't have that one, though, it's in London, sorry. Lastly, with regard to the Macross 7: English Anticipation manga: Macross 7 Fire Bomber American Album Release Commemorative Comic, as far as I can tell "Anime V" had by that point already transformed into "Looker" magazine, so I'm not even sure if that issue even exists. I'm very slowly piecing together the history of these magazines, though, so bear with me for a while. EDIT -- One more thing. The Macross Ace Frontier UMD movie doesn't exist. You may be thinking of the recent "Macross Triangle Frontier Itsuwari no Utahime Special Pack". That comes with the game UMD and two extra video UMDs. One of those is the MacF movie itself, and the other is the extra stuff, which is probably the one you want.

Some of my LPs. Much nicer to listen to than CDs. I'm enough of an audiophile that I like the "feel" of vinyl, but not too much of one that I spend much more than I can afford on maniac equipment. I'll take a proper photo next time, this is far too messy, sorry...

Just got this the other day : Macross Crossover Live I couldn't make it to the concert but this is the next best thing.

Already been done. They were called Van-Force and yes, Kawamori was behind them. http://furuoka.blog56.fc2.com/blog-entry-226.html I think rather than being a proper Lego kit, though, they were repackaged Lego sets with Kawamori's face and alternate instructions. Edit -- English article: http://www.brothers-brick.com/2006/09/26/new-van-force-design-from-shoji-kawamori/

AKIRA LIVE ACTION MOVIE = Life Support?
Renato replied to Macross007's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
This may have been uploaded earlier, can't be bothered to check, sorry. -
So...... Did they fix the colour of the hands? Are the intake covers removeable? Are the eyes translucent? WHAT PARTS WILL BREAK, etc....
