  1. I might as well just list the other problems, then. - The backpack does not click in place. I hear this is common. Depending on the weather (or something), the entire backpack ends up swinging down under its own weight. - Chest lock not tight enough, again common. - Hands do not grip the guns well enough, llllet's hear it for COMMMMOONN... - Feet springs are screwed up, after the second transformation. They don't even feel like ratchet joints any more. - One of the lower leg panels feels like it's getting looser, and this may be an indication that it will just break off like on some others I've read about. The screw bores away the plastic, apparently. - The arms do not peg into where they should in car mode. I watched Peaugh's review carefully, he makes it look so easy. I don't know what he's doing that I'm not, if anything. - The forearm panels don't remain closed when using those blade/welder attachment things. Bah, whatever. - Middle wheels off the ground in RV mode. I think this is common, too. - The legs. I don't know what it is, but I'm sure there is something odd here. This is probably the most unnoticeable, yet biggest issue, because as I described above, in car mode, everything has to be locked nice and tight or else you put stress on some other areas. There probably needs to be an extra click, or something to curl one of the legs just a tiny fraction more in car mode, because I see spaces on one side that aren't on the other. And I think this is throwing car mode off entirely. For starters, this issue prevents one of the leg panels on the underside of the car from reaching the hole it's supposed to peg into. This in turn is probably causing something else to screw up, like putting overt pressure on that reeeally thin tab that holds the rear roof in place, and so on. Bleah.
  2. The front left wheel is always a good 1 or 2 millimetres off the ground in car mode. I have no idea why, I spent an hour or so adjusting stuff, trying different things, but I honestly have no idea what the root of the problem is. I think it's a side effect of the issue I have with one of the legs apparently not folding in properly (again, a millimetre makes all the difference). There are a million other issues with this thing, but OVERALL... I do like it. And of course, it's your toy and you can do what you wish with it, but in my opinion, if I buy a Transformer and not transform it, then honestly, it might as well be broken. Go ahead and have fun. Even if it sucks, hating is part of the loving.
  3. Heh. Looks like a bootleg. And just look at the back of the box. Rodimus really let himself go. "It used to be about the music, man!" "Bleaaaarghh!" But still, it will probably be improved over the Takara original. Ugh. There are SO many things wrong on that toy. I just found another problem with mine this morning!
  4. It looks to me like the shoulders on the P are identical to the Kai's, apart from the fact that they do not open to reveal speakers. But yeah, I agree the speaker things should be removable. By the way, in Gerwalk mode those speakers are supposed to be twisted perpendicular to the shoulder, oddly enough (i.e., the speakers are facing outwards, to the side of the valk). Which means that they should be on some sort of connection joint anyway, which might as well just be a simple friction peg-and-hole deal. EDIT -- Also, I hope jvmacross doesn't mind me putting up his pics here, but they're so pretty:
  5. Yeah, I really don't care for everything being an exclusive. In all likelihood, if the Phalanx became an exclusive, I for one would not buy it, so there you go. OK, I'm usually good with acronyms, but this one has me stumped. What?
  6. I don't know about that. If the clip at the back of the fuselage wears away, it's all over.
  7. Oh, yeah. They should put the console display in the sticker sheet as well as tampoing it on, so that you can put it on the Fire Valk.
  8. I was reading an article in (what I think is) the March issue of Figure Oh. In it, a Bandai rep mentions that the plans for the YF-19 and YF-21 Hi-metals are still going ahead. I'm taking that with a pinch of salt, but we shall see. I like the Hi-Metal line overall. I have no real complaints about the VF-1's, at least.
  9. And you're saying that all of that is more plausible than just having a singing pilot fly a Valkyrie? Like I said, it's not gonna be easy to dismantle the feet to get at the ball joint in the first place.
  10. No, it did not. Shelf-warmers all the way. That's why they're stuck right now, we would have seen a Phalanx by now otherwise. Th prototypes are done, ready to go, there're just no buyers.
  11. Holy crap, I just read that. My word... Ladies and Gentlemen, this is a man who is out of ideas. Now excuse me while I make a "Space Ghost" news blog, and devote it to the latest updates concerning the Playstation Network hacking.
  12. Well, the advantage of giving out information only at convention is that they can always change their tune, and if someone calls them on it, saying "last year you said such and such", they can just turn around and go "nope, you heard wrong". And that would be it. If they actually put news in the news section of their website, once it's up, it's done, they cannot later convince you "nah, you read wrong" even if they delete the info, becauseit would have been tweeted and reposted everywhere by then, so even if they delete it they still have to face the music. That's why I think they insist on doing this "convention-only" BS. It's the only way they can keep controlling the spin.
  13. I can't believe you're still on about the worm. Yeah, I see it now, but I never would have imagined it by myself. Thank god it's not one of those "can't unsee" things. You know, like the foetus inside the Sharon Apple red "eye" thing. As for the VF-11 Armour, apparently Yamato are well aware of the demand for it. Don't know how willing they are to do it, though. I've wanted one forever, though.
  14. ... the hell? Seriously, I don't get it. Yeah, and the VF-19P, too, right? Right??
  15. Can't wait to see your build-up, dude! I have no idea when to even begin mine...
  16. Graham, here's a suggestion: How about including the Spiritia drain beam weapon? Towards the end of the series, most of Diamond and Emerald Force were equipped with them. Oh, and FAST packs. Although I have never figured out how the FAST packs work in all modes...
  17. I guess they thought that the international merchandising rights that HG held were not necessarily exclusive, and that BW could grant them to whomever they wished. So they got BW's blessing and went on to try and put out their product. Hey -- long shot, but anyways -- does anyone have the files saved from the original Sunwards homepage? It was only a couple of small pages, but I think it's worth keeping for posterity's sake. That and the purple mountain background, although nothing at all to do with Macross, just screams 80s for me, in a kind of Tron/KnightRider sense. Also, I always found it very interesting that they never once mention the word "Macross" in those ads. I know HG owns the TMs, of course. Bandai marketed their 1990 Super Valkyrie reissue in mainland Europe without using the Macross name or logo, but otherwise the packaging is identical. EDIT -- Looking at the ad again, I get the feeling Graham wrote the English...
  18. They do mention that there will be new photos taken especially for the book. Yeah, that's the "Visual Book", coming at the same time as the novel (see above).
  19. Well, the "detail-up" thing was probably just realized with the photo-etched add-on parts Yamato released recently, so there's your new VF-1. I don't see anything else coming except perhaps more sporadic reissues.
  20. Wow, that was amazing! I'm going to see if I can find more of that, the effects, movements and detail on the dolls are incredible. I went and saw the English opening. Oh, dear. Hip-hop? Seriously??
  21. For clarification: "The owner": George Sohn "That company": Toycom "another company": Toynami No point in protecting the guilty.
