  1. V1? Those toys are like ten years old, I don't think you'll find any pristine pearly white parts anywhere, not even if you asked Yamato. OT: My god, TEN YEARS. I remember the exact day in Shinjuku when those things came out, I was there in Sakuraya with another Macross Worlder called Matt, and maybe one other guy, just watching them roll out the new valks from the back room. I also remember buying one and taking it back immediately because the plastic in the neck joint was glued wrong and would not move, it looked like it was welded together in a mess of white mush. The guy at the cashier pulled another from under the counter and handed it to me, no questions asked. These were certainly the "hey, it's Yamato, what can you do" days.
  2. And a giant sub-woofer at its centre?
  3. ?! That's like saying CDs are like cassettes, but they can also play music.
  4. Why? He wasn't the one who did the review...
  5. I turned it off after the first half hour, it was pure undiluted garbage. Not even Natsuna could have hoped to save that school play. The fact that they kept the show's title in the corner for the entire running time (at least, the first half-hour I saw) both insults people's intelligence as well as proving that they didn't expect that many people to tune in. But that was the least of my complaints. Actually, it was so terrible I literally snapped one of my wooden chopsticks accidentally as I was eating. That's never happened to me before. The show must've been record-breakingly teeth-clenchingly bad. After switching it off I watched an episode of the Maison Ikkoku anime instead, and all was right with the world. Edit -- I just remembered that the chopstick-breaking has actually happened to me before couple of times in restaurants, but they broke in my hand. This is the first time I bit down hard and broke one.
  6. The one that VF5SS posted, the one that the VF-11 toy can do, the one that the VF-19 toy can do, the one that the VF-1 toy can do.... etc. And the one that my VF-19 could do once upon a time.
  7. Graham, I'm sorry, but that is not Gerwalk mode. Those things are almost plopping over. I had really good "proper" Gerwalk mode photos, but I need a bit of time to go and look for them now. The problem is, of course, that I cannot get that real pose any more because at the time I didn't realize that posing it that way would loosen the ankles so badly.
  8. "If you don't want to wait.." Yeah, right. We will see a reissue, however unlikely, much sooner than those things ever coming out.
  9. There's a review of one of the chrome guys on CollectionDX, and he showed the card. I don't remember who it was, but I'm sure you can just ask him for scans.
  10. But apparently:This DVD is Region Free (All Region), 100% Authentic/Genuine Malaysia Edition.

    1/55's revisited

    Aren't they all retired??
  12. I assume they manufacture them to order.
  13. Thanks for the pics! Let us know how it turns out.
  14. They also showed Fast Packs in a display recently. Then again, they show a lot of stuff.

More on the adventures of Tim and Tyke here: http://www.macrosswo...showtopic=17176 Yeah, those are the underwing missiles, Minmay figure, heatshield and strike cannon. EDIT -- Damn, I missed what you meant by LDPE.... Yeah, don't know what those things are, sorry!
  16. Sounds like you're impugning the entire Japanese collectible toy market...
  17. This thread has been going for so long I can't remember if I posted or not. Anyway, I don't care about another YF-19, I would rather Yamato concentrate on stuff that has never been made. Vf-0D, VF-4, VF-19P, Full Armour Thunderbolt, bring it all on.
  18. Could we please have images if possible? The ankles on these toys are the ONLY things that I can think of which are keeping them from being the most perfect toys ever made in the history of everything. I picked up my Bandai VF-27 just now and it's all loose and floppy like a ragdoll.
  19. I don't mind the term if it is used properly. But the one I hate is "animation error", like it's a catch-all term for anything people don't agree with now. Animation errors happen, yes, like when cels do not line up properly, or when outsourced studios do not check the setting materials or storyboards properly when drawing keyframes. But most of the time things that people describe/dismiss as an animation error are certainly not simple "mistakes".
  20. Sorry. It's in the title: 完結編 means THE END; NO MORE.
  21. I prefer the old design...
  22. Probably the F before the P...
  23. Heh, that's oldschool MW humour right there.
  24. Oh that's good, they did put the yellow stripe on the crotch piece after all. The sample I handled didn't have that.
