  1. Nice. Those M7 toys look so great together.
  2. I forgot about that! I preordered it like half a year ago. I used to have a cool Gunbuster T-shirt. It was much nicer than the boring ones they released a couple years ago. I wonder where that thing is now.
  3. But the 17 is STEALTH, so it will get there before you know it.

    YF-19 leg cracking

The Gunpod and landing gear stuff was settled after the second production run, way back in the day. There have been so many reissues of the 1/60 YF-19 that I honestly lost track.
  5. But the "riding off into space sunset" IS the happy ending. People kept yammering on and on "what happened to them AFTER ALL THIS??" until eventually Kawamori couldn't take it anymore and said "OK, you know what. There. That's what happened. Happy now?"
  6. But... every new valk is Yamato's most expensive valk ever. I think people hoping the prices on these things magically revert back to 2003-2006 figures are being a little naive. It ain't gonna happen.
  7. That's excellent. Such a memorable, iconic scene from the show. Somebody needs to photoshop a desert background to recreate the New Edwards test flight area!
  8. Has this been posted yet? http://www.yamato-toys.com/dev/cont_103/ "WAX-ON, WAX-OFF, DANIEL-SAN!"
  9. Yeah, that is terrible.
  10. So do I, but I'm just trying to separate the facts from the speculation before we enter page 100 of this thread and people are still "OMG I don't have $5,000 and/or modelling skills to make this AAAaaargh!!" It seems we won't actually *know* anything else until February. FACT: Perfect Transformation VF-4G. Yamato Webstore Exclusive. That's all folks The LowViz was "limited" in the sense that they never planned to make a second run. In terms of numbers, they were not rare at all. In fact, I would hazard a guess and say that they were probably more numerous than some of the production runs of the newer valks,... But then 2003 was an entirely different toy market than 2011/2012... But now it's more like judgment day, right?
  11. Nice pics! I like the markings on the arms that you put on, Graham. Wonder if anyone will use the NUNS stickers instead of the oldschool kites. That's probably the reason Yamato didn't tampo print the markings.... right?
  12. To be fair, he's only right about the "web exclusive" part..... so far.
  13. I read the article and the comments, but I wonder, is that quote referring to the Starship Troopers live action film? If so.... do people still not realize that it's a satire? It's like reading the Onion and accepting it all as fact! In that sense, Team America World Police also has good old, wholesome American values. Maybe he was being sarcastic? That could explain the presence of "Robotech" in that sentence...
  14. Technically, it's not actually "in the works".... the license is not secured yet. That was just a teaser, perhaps to gauge popularity. If it doesn't come out I shall be heartbroken, though.

    YF-19 leg cracking

I guess I'm "pretty goddamn retarded", then! Merry Christmas! I do think that Yamato chose crappy materials to begin with: people broke YF-19 arms and VF-0 shoulders because of this. But I think leaving it alone does not help at all, either. I would say it is a combination of the two. When did the Protogarland come out? I bought that either last year or at the start of this year. Anyway, so many things just crumbled right out of the box -- and this was supposed to be the most robust one. I have a Factory Color Garland that has no problems whatsoever, but the Proto just fell apart. Also the PVC Shogo rider's head just came clean off. I attributed all of that to sitting in the box for years as much as poor materials; it wasn't used, it was "new". Sometimes MISB is not the best measure of quality when talking about toys from a certain period. As for the Takatoku's, yeah, I guess SDF-1s in general are good and free from these pitfalls. But compare it to some of their Orguss M-Lovers, for example. Good luck finding one that isn't broken these days. If you do, don't be the first to touch it in a decade, it will crumble. And Bandai's VF-25s are nothing but wretched piles of putrid garbage so that's a whole other thing.

    YF-19 leg cracking

I've mentioned this before, but because of the tensions and tolerances involved, these kinds of toys with lots of moving parts have to be played with and moved around every so often. That thing came out in 2006, it's almost 6 years old. To have transformed it 5 times only in that time is probably what made it brittle. Think of it like regular exercise. If you sit on the couch every waking hour you can't expect to run a marathon and not collapse.
  17. My guess is the Phalanx released as a pricey limited kit-only thing, and you need the legs of another destroid? BTW, Merry Christmas!
  18. I handled the toy a while ago and I have no idea what any of you are talking about. It feels great, and it looks good.
  19. Good point, I thought CHE's stuff was all legit.
  20. THE WOMEN MUST NOT PENETRATE
  21. So it is possible to bring those two out on Bluray with no issues? DYRL was released in the UK both subbed and dubbed through Kiseki in the mid-nineties along with MacII, but that never showed up on DVD.... I would figure it would be applicable to the same statute of limitations since we are talking about releases at around the same time period. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Macross-Do-You-Remember-Love-VHS/dp/B00004CQVJ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1324430716&sr=8-1 I got it for six quid and it's 71 pounds now.
  22. I found this too: http://www.youtube.com/movies/animation-cartoons?feature=mv_c What do you know, it's good ol' Macross II. It's the only Japanese anime up on that category right now. And Harmony Gold's name is nowhere in sight. "No-one minding the store" again?
  23. I found this. http://blog.flicks.co.nz/film-is-a-harsh-mistress/your-childhood-the-movie/ It mentions Robotech, so I thought I'd put it here. Sorry if it has been posted before.
  24. I dunno, but of course, there's two movie versions now anyway. So that should give Bandai the opportunity to make variants, but looks like that isn't happening.
  25. Argh, that's way too long to put in my signature!!
