  1. There goes the allotment for the whole island of Hokkaido.
  2. Great idea guys! Let's not sell it to people who want it!
  3. I just ordered the VF-1D even though I already have one. It's the most iconic valk ever for me, brimming with nostalgia, and the one I have is starting to get loose joints, so I had to have another.
  4. Horus was incredibly influential on the industry as a whole, but let's not forget that Isao Takahata was also as much a part of that as Miyazaki. As for Future Boy Conan, I've heard that everything Miyazaki has ever done or will ever do, he already did in Conan. Therefore, that is the only Miyazaki work you need ever see! Same thing can be said for Rumiko Takahashi and Urusei Yatsura.
  5. I thought it sucked.
  6. Everyone's got copies. Even we do, they're in Perfect Memory and Design Works, etc.
  7. Actually, that was me, yo: http://www.macrosswo...ndpost&p=866357 But don't feel bad, for some reason everybody gets us confused! EDIT -- Just read your own response to that post: "Awesome memory" LOL
  8. Who cares. He ain't gettin' 'em. Oh yeah. Well, technically, that was Patrick Macias, not me... But yeah, I really hope we can publicly display these somewhere at some point.
  9. You of all people would never forgive them for doing that and you know it.... ? Which one?
  10. If you're in Tokyo, go to Kichijoji Yodobashi, they have the "Origin of Valkyrie" sets there, and they're only 4 years old or so, not thirty. In fact, they are by no means rare. You don't need any more reissues, they have been reissued enough times to saturate the market. Not sure what you mean... As I say, I can still find them in regular stores, and I mean first-hand.
  11. I'm interested in the 1/1 Valk, but it's a shame it's a VF-25 and not a VF-1. As for the exhibition itself, I wonder what items of value it would actually have. Maybe original design sketches? Because we at Meiji Uni actually own quite a lot of the original pencil drawings by Kawamori, Miyatake and Itano, hehe....
  12. That wasn't a joke!
  13. http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/lifestyle/03/11/12/comic-book-artist-moebius-dies Moebius was an artist like no other, and his influence was seen all over the world -- even stretching to Japan, where he made an obvious impression on people like Katsuhiro Otomo. I am glad I had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of years ago, hopefully I can find the photo I took. RIP
  14. I picked Totoro because I think it's the first one I saw, but I like most of the others in different ways.
  15. Yes, and no. In both cases the actual word used is 限定. That is used in a number of ways, such as: ウェブショップ限定 (web-shop limited) or 数量限定 (limited number). I would say that Yamato produces more numbers than Bandai does.
  16. Again, this is good. Let's live our lives, have fun, socialize, not be oppressed into slavery by the evil Bandai regime. It's the only way they'll learn.
  17. This might sound crazy, but in the end, hygiene is more important than robot toys. You're doing a favour not only for yourself , but also for the outside perception of our community.
  18. It's really kind of f-d up the way that Yamato can label an item "limited" and still produce enough to satisfy the demand, whereas Bandai's idea of "general release" is in itself far more limited with no guarantees you'll get one.
  19. Looking closely, it seems like they may have even increased the amount of tampos on the figure...
  20. I like the Nightmare Plus, but I'm wondering if they will bring out a Luca type. If they do, that's the one I want to get since I prefer the green stripes. It might be exclusive, though. In fact, the entire armour pack I would expect will be a web exclusive. Although they're being really stingy in not even including the forearm weapons. That is supposed to be the main new add-on for the EX as standard, isn't it? EDIT -- Who the hell am I kidding, I'm never gonna find this thing.
  21. It's basically Mikimoto's thoughts on wrapping up Macross. Macross... It is the first and most deeply-involved work for me... Full of failures and embarrassments. I caused a lot of problems for so many people, and everyone took care of me (and I'm still causing problems..). However, I still want to take care of this show, and given the opportunity I would like to develop these characters further (though I feel I want to avoid doing it as a sequel..). It was an extremely fortunate work for me. Kawamori -- "Sorry, you're not gonna be on anymore.." Minmay -- "Not even one song..?" Max -- "Idiot..."
  22. Thank you for the reference, really appreciate it. Although, this is a whole other debate. We are discussing whether or not it is plausible that Carl et al sat down and watched Macross etc. muted and could manage to guess the dialogue to an astonishingly accurate degree. It was suggested that not only is that what happened, but that Carl's version of the script ended up being an improvement and was lauded by the Japanese producers. Now, talking about synching and sound effects is another matter entirely, and actually says nothing about the dialogue which is the main issue here. We need to tackle one problem at a time.
