Erm, that is exactly what the very first item on the list is. And it comes with a CD, too (unfortunately, jacking up the price).

No new M7 footage? That was the one thing I was looking forward to about this. Also, I like how on the MW front page story, the "Yahoo News" hyperlink takes you to a Hotmail login page.

More pics of goodies for the Genga Exhibition revealed: http://www.macross-gengaten.com/goods.html Argh. I wanted a PSP case but not if it's just stock Sheryl and Ranka illustrations. That design with the VF-1J with all the pilots around it looks great, why couldn't they have used that?? I will definitely buy the Clear File with that design, though.

DYRL BD Remaster - the Good.......and the BAD.

By that definition this could be considered a restoration job because I heard they did in fact go back to the negatives... Although I have no idea how they actually manipulated them. I guess I could try to find out.. However, my stance on the blurry shots -- other than the digital-blur censorship shots, of course -- is that that is the way they were photographed, so there is precious little you can do about that now, even going back to the negatives. -
Apparently it will come with the VF-19F/S type Gunpod.

At the time, I didn't know any 8-year-olds who cared about whether a toy is poseable or line-art accurate or not, myself included. It was all about playability. For the record, I got a Jetfire when I was 5 or 6.

I unlocked the third batch of levels (ultimate mode) the other day. It's not as hard as the Ultimate mode on the PSP games. Great game so far, but I wish the Destroids had been in there, or at least the Super Ostrich, even though it would be rather useless. It's also kind of a bummer that you don't actually fight Bodolza at the end, you just blow up his ship from the outside. And I love the level where you're in Macross City and the gravity switches off... But I don't like that the city looks nothing like the city in the actual movie, that really took away a lot of the charm for me. Edit -- I really doubt the VF-4 is in there, but hey, you never know.

Yeah, I also have a friend called "Manami" who uses the same character, too. I had never heard of it being read "Megumi" until Nakajima-san came along, though. Oh, and I don't do Pixiv. I can't keep track of all these services, I've already got dormant Photobucket and DeviantArt accounts...

We talked about it....

Sure, it's this one: http://www.tinami.com/view/460952

So has anyone been paying attention to this? : =1"]http://www.tinami.com/search/list?keyword=ct049mcr&genrekey=1&sort=new&type[]=1 It's the Macross illustration competition to commemorate the opening of the "genga" exhibition in a couple of week's time. Take a look around, some are really good. Also, you might see a familiar name there.... (However, be aware that they have a strict policy of copy/pasting these images on other sites, so linking to them is OK, but no reposts)

DYRL BD Remaster - the Good.......and the BAD.

No, Kawamori is not an actual "animation director" -- he is a general director, so he plots the pacing, how each sequence is going to play out, how they all fit together, etc. He makes sure that the narrative gets from A to D, passing through B and C. He also storyboarded the entire movie. What we actually see on-screen in each shot, however, is up to the animation directors assigned to each sequence and how they interpret Kawamori's intentions. Haruhiko Mikimoto, Toshihiro (nowadays "Toshiki") Hirano, Ichiro Itano and Hideaki Anno (Evangelion/Gunbuster) were the people who actually got down and dirty with all of that. They are the "animators" who decide how things are actually going to move onscreen. -

I translated "some" of it a couple of weeks ago; it just so happened to be one of the articles that got reprinted: http://www.macrossworld.com/2709/countdown-to-dyrl-bd-1984-interview-with-shoji-kawamori-from-animage-booklet-minmay-ai-miemashita-ka/

I'm guessing the option parts only come with the ones sold at WF, then? Can I ask if the box you received actually has that "30th anniversary オプションパーツ付きSET (option parts included)" label on it?

Itano directed the Valkyrie sequences. -
I second this. I think the screening is a great idea and the 5.1 mix is going to push the "awesome levels" over the edge.
-
If they are the same figures as the ones they had on display at their office last year (and I'm 97% certain they are -- I didn't go to WF), then yes, they are 1/60. I wasn't allowed to post photos but I did mention them on the boards a couple of times. They also didn't say exactly how/if they were going to market them, my guess is they don't actually know yet.

I posted this on the other thread, too, but I figured it's relevant here, so here we go: One thing about the disc itself -- I had to update the PS3 firmware to play it. Neither the game nor movie worked otherwise. I feared the worst. I hate updating because usually everything is much worse afterwards. Anyway, as a result, my PS3 now is dead slow when accessing the internet, lags all the time, and it has crashed 3 times in 10 minutes. I hate you, Sony. Go straight to hell -- do not pass GO, do not collect $200. Straight to hell. Anyone else have to do this, and/or experience issues? The game is on the same disc as the movie...

Countdown to DYRL on BD -- A look back at 2005's "BS Anime Yaw
Renato replied to SCOOPUDA!'s topic in Movies and TV Series
Literal. He was being pretty much berated as having no experience with women, and so the behaviour of Misa and Minmay in the movie are overly melodramatic because it's all his pure fabricated fantasy running wild. Not my words! -
Argh. I've said it before, I'll say it again: DARYL HANNAH?? http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000435/

As for the game itself -- I think it's great, but of course, that's because all of Artdink's Macross games have been great (or at the very least, the same game, pretty much). I love the custom soundtrack feature. When large capital ships attack, they now do so to the beat of "Face to Face" by Daft Punk. Deculture!
