Reading that piece, it came to my attention that "1980s J-pop" is something of an oxymoron (or at least an inaccurate description)... 1980s idol pop is generally referred to as "kayoukyoku", while J-pop itself is really something that came into being during the 1990s. 1980s j-pop I would consider to be more Boowy and stuff like that, which is not what we see in SDF Macross. But anyway, whatever, this is like ultra-nitpicker territory. I just don't consider a lot of Macross music "J-pop". Mac7 gets described that way a lot, too, but as we talked about on an early podcast, M7 and contemporaneous J-pop have so little in common, it's more like the few J-pop songs that do appear in M7 are the ones that are played as a joke, as if to counter the power of Basara's AOR-like power-ballad stylings. But yeah, whatever.

Took me a while to figure out how to navigate through that article. You have to click on the pictures. I was like, "so... where's the rest of the article?"

Yeah, they like to pop out a lot. I've superglued one of them on. In other news, I got a 19S the other day, because I love this sculpt so much. I'm impressed with how the S looks, but for some reason most of the joints are much, much looser compared to the Fire and 19P, right out of the box. Is this the case for anyone else here?

It's not a 1/60, it's a 1/48.

1) I don't know. I hope someone else can answer. 2) There is an entire disc of extra footage, but not all of it is new. I don't know the running time of the disc, but it's probably at least 2 hours since it includes the TV special with all the interviews, the original broadcast versions of episodes 1, 2 and 11, and the pachinko footage, plus commercials and non-credit openings, etc. EDIT: I am not sure, but since there are two versions of this box set (standard and collectors' edition), the bonus disc might only be included in the premium edition, the one with the Perfect Memory book, storyboard and all that other stuff. Beware. 3) "Macross Special episodes 1 and 2" refers to the original back-to-back broadcast of the first two episodes. They are edited slightly differently, with a different opening and ending sequence. Hope that helps!

You noticed Kamjin and Misa but not Minmay and Hikaru? Wow. It is primarily for space missions, so it makes sense to me that it wouldn't be on the planet. I prefer them small because I don't want to get lost. I like that for an "Action RPG" it emphasizes the action elements rather than the RPG ones.

Les juro que si en realidad si es que se hace, no se parecera nada ni a Macross ni Robotech.

I'm not sure which subquest you are on, but it could just mean "shoot down 15 bandits." I think have done three subquests so far IIRC, two have been collecting stuff and another was "shoot down XX number of Regult pods".

Technically they are still prototypes, but yeah, you're right that it's pretty dumb that almost everyone has one now.

Save and I are in the middle of making the 1/3000 SDF-1 and I was referring to the step-by-step guide in the Yamato blog. Argh.. Oh, f*ck no. Screw that. Looks like Arcadia has a Facebook page (no Mac stuff yet, though): http://www.facebook.com/pages/%E3%82%A2%E3%83%AB%E3%82%AB%E3%83%87%E3%82%A3%E3%82%A2/510346885676271

Guys, I think we had a good run with Yamato. I wouldn't mind taking a break. We got pretty much everything made into a toy. If Arcadia continue with PT 1/60 toys, great. If they don't, that's OK, too. It's not as if they stopped before they finished Skull Squadron or anything. Heck, they even re-released them as a victory lap of sorts.

If you meant what you wrote, that's a teeny tiny toy guitar! If you meant "in a size that the TF MP figs can hold as if they're playing it", then it's probably the Sheryl one.

You should ask that question in the Newbie Q&A thread here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=34315 But the short answer is -- buy THIS: http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E8%B6%85%E6%99%82%E7%A9%BA%E8%A6%81%E5%A1%9E%E3%83%9E%E3%82%AF%E3%83%AD%E3%82%B9-Blu-ray-Complete-Edition-%E5%88%9D%E5%9B%9E%E9%99%90%E5%AE%9A%E7%94%9F%E7%94%A3/dp/B006QRCBG2/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1362401295&sr=8-16 And the discussion thread for that is here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=36122

You can select them from the hangar menu. When you go into the menu screen with the valk stats, one of the selectable options underneath all the tuning is the colour selection. There should be about four colouring options for each valk. So far, it seems you cannot make your own like you could in the PSP games.

Orguss hair and James Cameron's Avatar hair
Renato replied to dakedo's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Bring it on! What are ya, Yellow?? Seriously, though, I never got what was so great about that show. It's not bad, I guess, but Orguss always seemed much more interesting to me. To me, Artmic really hit their stride later on, with Megazone, Gall Force, Bugglegum, etc... -

Heh, I had actually just finished listening to the Beatles on vinyl over dinner when I read this thread! I buy music but nowhere near as much as I used to. I like pretty much every genre except the Simon Cowell garbage... and the same goes for movies. I'm sick of these new flashy trends and I'm sick of Michael Bay.

I mentioned that in the podcast! Hey, I do! IMO, Orguss is awesome, much better than that Mospeada show that everyone seems to adore. -

Yeah, you "unlock" the targets by pressing L1 and R1 together. Simple. It's the same in the PSP games, by the way.

There is a first print bonus, but it's a code to download a YF-29 skin.
