  1. Yeah, there is a bit of a connection from time to time. I remember that in the gift shop of the smaller "Osamu Tezuka World" in Kyoto they were selling Macross Frontier Bandai valks a few years ago, and really advertising the False Songstress movie, which was new at the time.
  2. Aw, crap, it totally slipped my mind. As per usual, recently. Hey, remind me again tomorrow, thanks!
  3. You have to excuse Tochiro, he's only been in Japan for twelve years or so, so he's still a newbie.
  4. I think the official BD release is region-free.
  5. The Cold War has been over for decades, dude...
  6. I should have posted this last week, sorry. Anyway, anime critic and friend of mine (shameless name-drop, so sue me) Ryota Fujitsu wrote a piece on FB7's performance on your home theater set-up in this month's special anime-themed issue of "HiVi" magazine, for HD-philes and audiophiles.
  7. I don't know what you mean by that, I never saw a single Bandai renewal in a legit shop that wasn't a second-hand reseller (and to this day haven't, in fact).
  8. No, you should spend money on this to watch the concert footage and music videos like I did.
  9. It doesn't mean anything even without the scalper issue. Now that the actual competition itself is gone, what's the incentive for Bandai to "competitively" price anything? They effectively have a monopoly on valk toys and can charge whatever they want.
  10. It just gets worse and worse. So this takes place after the events of Season 3 of Prime, which they aren't going to show in Japan? This makes NO SENSE. I did... Remember I put an episode onto your PSP? That was from my US disc. Of course, you can't get the show on BD in Japan, they're DVD-only, dub-only.
  11. Yup, exactly, those are tell-tale signs.. It is identical. Unfortunately it's not onscreen long enough to make out the lower torso/waist folding panels, but you get the idea. Oh, and the footage itself is actually from one of the music video extras on the bonus disc.
  12. I posted pics of the magical flying Yamato VF-19 CAD that I was talking about here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=35341&p=1039875
  13. I just got my Blu-ray tonight, I've put it on in the background, but I noticed one very, VERY interesting thing. I posted this in the Yamato VF-19 thread over in the toys forum, so I apologize for double-posting. Now, I had my suspicions before, but now I am 100% convinced that the CG VF-19kai that appears in the animation is a tweaked CAD model of the Yamato VF19 mold. There is no denying it, the joints, the seams, the proportions, etc. There, what more proof do you guys need? Best Macross toy ever. It is so good, that they retroactively fitted it into the anime itself. Yamato reinvented anime magic!! I couldn't get screencaps with my software, but I'll see if I can just take a photo of the TV screen and show you what I mean. The valk is prominently featured in the newly-animated music video sequences ("new" footage which was not in the movie). It was in fighter mode for the most part and I was thinking "that is quite obviously the Yamato mold...". Then it transformed and, yes, it is identical. I remember discussing with VF5SS the visible feet in the VF-22's fighter mode in one of the animated sequences for the PSP games, and I jokingly suggested that they were using Yamato's CADs. Now there is absolutely no doubt at all.
  14. Yeah, I was just gonna say, Operation Stargazer!! Although you don't really need Millia for that one. Anyway.... My Blu-ray of Macross FB7 just arrived. 15. Oh dear god, no... They really are repeating history. This is exactly what they did for Beast Wars back in the 90s. They didn't show the last few episodes of the series and then made their own bizarre show. Transformers Prime ended in Japan a few weeks ago, they cut out the last two minutes of the 2nd season cliffhanger and said OK, that's a wrap, thanks kids! Does Optimus survive? Who cares! Buy the toys! Goodbye! I guess we can completely forget about season 3 now.
  16. Well... Now that this thing is finally kicking into gear, I guess now is a good time to reveal that I was on set last year and I am in the movie as an extra, so be on the lookout.
  17. I know they both are different interpretations of the same sanskrit word, though I think 婆娑羅 may be the most common kanji for "basara". The meaning of the words have diverged throughout history. 「婆娑羅など幾つかの漢字表記があり、梵語(サンスクリット語)で「vajra = 金剛石(ダイヤモンド)」を意味するが、意味の転訛は不明であるとされる。」 http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%81%B0%E3%81%95%E3%82%89
  18. Oh, that was you? Wow, I'm sorry I forgot that. Still, I do remember it had it's own thread, and yes, I remember you said you were basing it on the MLB logo. Cool that it has become -- or remained, rather -- so iconic.
  19. Yeah, I remember when this was being designed. It was meant as a backlash against the whole Harmony Gold Cease & Desist order BS that was going on around 2001-2002. I actually thought it was you, WhiteDrew. I did know who it was but it has completely slipped my mind in my old age. I want to say Hurin, eriku, or even skullone (though probably not). But yeah, EXO should know. I tried searching in various sections on the MW Legacy forums but nothing came up. Then again, I have never, ever found anything that I was looking for using the search engine on these forums... I did find this off-topic gem, though: http://www.macrossworld.com/cgi-bin/mwfarchive/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=8;t=8237;hl=accept+no+substitutes
  20. Images appear to be deleted?
  21. But... They're both dollars, dude. It's just that one's HK and one's US. Hence "HK$" clearly labelled. Want your mind blown? Australia, Singapore and yes, CANADA use the dollar as well.
  22. I think there is already a separate topic for Another Century's Episode R that will provide more detail, but as others have said, it's pretty awful. I have it but I only got it for the Orguss. The valks in it are from Macross Frontier and Zero. Even StarFox on the SNES was better than this clunky, unresponsive, uncontrollable mess.
  23. Yeah, I think Tochiro went, I'm not sure. I don't remember if that is also going to be included in the BD/DVD, though.
  24. Just got my ticket. I'll be there on May 10th. I really wish they had also shown the Macross 7 movie "The Galaxy is Calling Me", too, though, just so we can then recreate the "Macross Festival 1995" roadshow.
