    I would actually recommend the Blu-ray even despite the minor edits (it's not like they cut out entire scenes or anything -- the running time is the same), but if you really want it uncut, then your next best bet is the "HD Remaster" DVD release from 2007: It came in two editions, standard and limited edition. Both are quite easy to find and not so expensive now (dumb Amazon prices notwithstanding) since consumers appear to have conceded that the BD has totally improved pretty much every aspect of the movie (except, of course, the edits). I have the limited edition which comes with 3 discs (two versions of the film plus an extras disc), and storyboards and lineart books. The standard edition is just the regular movie.     Well, there are less and less retro game shops here nowadays... I remember just a few years ago there were many, many more. Prices on a lot of items are dirt cheap for the most part, though. Occasionally you will come across expensive things but rarely do prices escalate beyond the original MSRP. At least that's what I find, though I only concentrate on Gameboy and SNES stuff, and sometimes PS1. A lot of these games may have depreciated due to Virtual Console etc. downloadable re-releases. As for the Konami Hyper Boy -- yeah, that thing is not rare, like, at all. I see tons of them everywhere... So goofy.

    I saw this and thought, "I'll buy that for a dollar!" ... And I literally did. Kirby's Dreamland 2. Man, this game is incredible! I think I remember it was in one of those one-in-50 game cartridges a friend sold to me in university, but by that point I wasn't paying much attention...

    Yay! This thread is back! Those videos are incredible! It's an odd feeling of nostalgia because I never actually went to any computer and electronics shows, but I did read about them in the magazines. Great timing for this thread revival, too, as a couple of months ago i bought a SNES and have been playing lots of great games. Right now I'm playing Donkey Kong Land on the (Super) Game Boy and a multitude of variations of Puyo Puyo and Nazo Puyo.

    Sorry, my post ended up being quite deceptive. It's actually part of the music video on the bonus disc. The valk does not transform in the actual movie (and is only in there for two shots).

    No, it won't stay in position. But hey, don't kill the messenger. That's the position the hips are supposed to be in when in Battroid. Bandai's build quality just plain sucks, that's why I haven't bought anything from them since.

    You don't press the swingbars inwards. You just swing the hips upwards until you hear a click. It's not a tight lock but it's the way to know that they are in position.

    Great! It's disappointing to hear about the sound quality, though.... Especially since one of the selling points of the Macross Plus BD is the new 5.1 mix of the soundtrack. Maybe they didn't use it? (They played the disc in stereo by mistake? )

    Guys, guys, read/listen, for the sake of clarity: There are TWO VF-1's coming out with the SAME scheme. One is produced by Arcadia, one is produced by Hasegawa. The images are NOT THE SAME. They look the same at first glance, but they are NOT THE SAME. No, there are more details. I suggest you look at the image properly, and read through this thread closely. We have talked about the peculiarities of the 1/60 design that are visible in the Arcadia image.

    The image is the "news", because now we can actually look at the Arcadia and Hasegawa versions side by side and compare and speculate. Based on that, I am pretty sure this is a transforming 1/60 Yamato mold, as some people have said. One big giveaway is the little hook at the edge of the backpack to connect it to the backplate in Battroid. So there you have it.

    No it's not, but it's almost 11am and looks like the server is getting crowded again so I can't get through. Unfortunately it's a public holiday today, which means it might stay this way for a while, and may not let up before 6pm.
