  1. I gave up on the extending fists on the 171EX a long time ago. I think after the second transformation I have only been using the pop-on fixed pose hands and not bothered with the retractable feature at all. I did notice that the joints are significantly looser now, after playing around with it again for the first time in several months. I remembered why I stopped buying Bandai stuff. I can't believe that I'm going to be duped again by them now that the Ozma 29 has been announced.
  2. aaajin: That translation is very misleading. What he actually said was: "That's right... Now that I think about it, the only companies making Macross mecha are Bandai and us. So we have to try get along..!" He mentions nothing about a meeting, let alone it going sour. He bought the VF-171 "for reference", without revealing anything specific. Some other user mentioned something about interchangeability of weapons between the two companies' products and he agreed that that would be interesting.
  3. Sounds good, and Inokashira or Musashino park would be within cycling distance for me. However the end of March will be quite a busy period so I am unsure if I can commit to this right now.
  4. Nope, it actually already exists, and BW did not C&D that, either. www.colonydrop.com/index.php/2009/06/30/terrible-live-action-porn-macross Rule 34 trumps everything, even international copyright disputes.
  5. Could be. Italy also released "Macross 7 Trash" officially back in the day. That does not look to be a translated booklet, though, it seems they have compiled their own material. I'm wondering if this is an upscale or actually the same restored footage that was released here. And look at the back of the BD case. There's the VF-2SS again!! Why oh why do the foreign distributors insist on slipping in Macross II stills in all the Macross Plus packaging, always??
  6. It could be that they're not actually doing anything with it other than hinting that they've made it so that it's compatible with the Bandai VF-25 FAST Packs...
  7. I believe the S stands for "Special". The 1D, 0D, 11D, stand for "Dual". And I always assumed the VF-25F stood for Frontier. I have no idea regarding the VF-19F. Regarding the 1J, look at companies and organizations today. JA is the Japanese Agricultural Association, JAXA is the Japan Aerospace Exploration Group, JETRO is the Japan External Trade Organization, JR is Japan Rail, J-Phone, J-Com, J's representing Japan everywhere. The only N I can think of which is used commonly to represent Nippon is NHK, for Nippon Housou Kyokai (Japan Broadcast Association). And why would it stand to reason that they are all made in Japan? I don't understand, that's like saying if the VF-1S Roy Focker Special is piloted by Roy Focker, so wouldn't they all be piloted by Roy Focker?
  8. Yeah, it appeared in the game (Last Frontier is on the Hybrid Pack BD with Sayonara no Tsubasa) as a variant, alonside the Klan VF-25S.
  9. At this point, I can actually see them doing the Perceval next. Anyway, I have loved this scheme for the 29 as soon as the "Macross Last Frontier" game came out (so this design actually predates Macross 30 by a year or so), and I'm glad to finally see it come to fruition. And May is just around the corner! This is an instant buy for me. I hope the Super Parts are announced soon, too. BACK ON THE BANDAIWAGON, BABY
  10. Eugh. Ikimonogakari and Fire Bomber are like whole worlds apart. I think Chie gives FB a level of class you don't get with teeny boppers like Ikimonogakari.
  11. Uh-oh. OK, I'll keep Gubaba's attention, you guys get Raptor out of here, quickly. HURRY, I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH LONGER I CAN HOLD HIMAARRGHHhhhhhh.. *
  12. Kiseki? Oh, Gubaba, you seem to jump back and forth between subjects just like an acrobat. Yeah, it's like poetry.
  13. Wow! That looks incredible. Now I want another P to do up in that scheme!
  14. The Scrambled Valk design is called the VF-1SOL. I like the design not only because it is essentially a bridge between the original Valkyrie to the VF-11 Thunderbolt, as you mentioned, but also because it represents a link in the evolution of the thematic concepts behind Macross, since the special equipment it uses is basically a prototype of the Sound Boosters, which also came to fruition in Macross 7.
  15. We talked about it at fair length on our podcast here: http://www.macrossworld.com/5732/macross-speakerpodcast-ep-10-macross-crossover-live-30/#more-5732
  16. It's not just the App version, because I never use that; I use the Desktop version. It's the same on both, the quoted text just won't appear. This is a recent thing because it worked fine just a few days ago. It seems everytime they update something they screw it up even more.
  17. For some reason when I try to reply to someone's post, it no longer brings up their quoted text in my reply. This makes it confusing when trying to clarify which specific points I am responding to. It may be a compatibility issue because it works fine on my Windows 7 laptop with Firefox, it just doesn't work at all on my Surface RT with Windows RT 8.1 and the Internet Explorer version of that, whatever it may be. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem?
  18. No, because the "grabbers" are too far to the front (as is the actual attachment point), and they have no grip anyway. The problem is that the die-cast content is all concentrated towards the rear of the plane -- legs, knee-joints, shoulder-joints, back-thruster... it makes everything in that area heavy and so the center of gravity is probably between the knees or somewhere thereabouts. Placing the stand attachment near the neck of the plane makes no sense at all...
  19. Macross the Complete is basically a compilation of all the music from the original TV and DYRL. There is virtually nothing else music wise. That said, the drama albums and some other "image albums" like "Macross Suite" still have some original instrumental tracks which are not included in this set. Everything from the shows is there, though. CD1 -- SDF Mac TV OST 1&2 CD2 -- DYRL OST and song karaoke tracks CD3 -- Rare and unreleased song & BGM tracks (Millia's Lullaby, Whisper of a Star, etc...). As for M7 BGM -- You can find those tracks on the Galaxy Network Chart Vols. 1 & 2 albums. Having said THAT, there is a ton of BGM in M7 that is repurposed from MacII and MacPlus, so you'll find those in their respective OST albums.
  20. I see it also came with two enormous Valks! You got a pretty cool deal, there!
  21. That's a shame because I believe we're defining our "target audience" as simply English-speaking Macross fans, regardless of age, gender, nationality, lifestyle, etc... So, Mr March, I don't mean to single you out, but just so I can understand your perspective a little more -- and anyone else who wants to share, please do so, too! -- can I ask about your listening tendencies? That is, are you doing something while you listen to podcasts, or do you sit back with a drink, are you driving, etc? For me, I only listen to podcasts on the commute. I'm either on the train or on my bike. I will stop the MP3 when the commute is over and restart it from that point when I'm on the move again, I tend not to listen to one in a single sitting. On Sunday mornings I tend to watch the Collection DX guys on Youtube while I have my breakfast at a leisurely pace. That is one hour on average and once that's done I will go off and get on with whatever else I need to do. I think a lot of it depends on the situation in which we listen, for most people.
  22. Totally serious -- I find myself humming/whistling/singing that very frequently indeed.
  23. Um. They already made it exactly the wayyou just mentioned. In fact, the "new 19 tooling" is basically the VF-19Kai tooling.
