Another close-up. This thing was originally meant to be a kind of test thing, to see if it was possible to wire up a VF-19kai Fire Valkyrie custom kit with real working speakers. Dunno if I'll ever get round to that... It'd make a hell of a radio, though!

Here's what else was on my desk at the time.

The speakers are real speakers. I used headphone speakers which no longer worked, and took them apart, then put them back together in a different manner to get the right effect... That is, to make them look like a "sound weapon".

Here's something I made in 2001 or 2002 (can't remember!) out of one of those cheapo Exo Squad reissues of the Destroids from the 90's. I never actually finished it, it needs touching up on a few more places, but anyway, here are the pics. I christen thee.. the MBR-07-Mk II-Kai Fire Phalanx! (Had to look up the actual designation in Google, 'cos I don't know 'em...)

Ooh, at last, soebody else who has the actual CD of the game. OK, do you think you can manage scanning the story pages of the instruction booklet? I just want to clear up the whole "fate of the megaroad" thing once and for all. Supposedly, in the manual it tells us that Misa & gang disappeared into a black hole or something random like that, but no-one has ever (to my knowledge) provided scans of the text to analyse.

I'm looking at the pic of the IHP kit now... never noticed how much battroid mode looks like one of those baddies from Gundam. Can't remember what they're called... begins with "Z".

Well, they both look like ugly pieces of crap... And I want them so bad!! OK, let's see now. I've been searching the Japanese webpages for this, but I can't find any info on it at all. I would have thought that if something had been physically present at a trade show that wouldn't be just a rumour, it would be an official statement. But be aware also that it was not Matt who saw this, it was somebody else. Even if Matt does know his stuff, we are still relying on secon-, third-hand information here. So I'm more inclined to believe, after having a couple of days to cool down, that this is still just the boring non-transforming Monster we're talking about. As for Graham... That's why none of it makes any bloody sense. Max and Millia DID get married in DYRL in these garments, in a Metran style wedding, whatever the hell that is, but we just don't see it. Now, M7 continuity tells us that Max was never macronized, rather Miria was micronized. Hence the suit-wearing humans surrounding them in this picture. So what's the truth? Who cares?! After looking at Exedore's inexplicably bulbous head, everything to do with continuity is messed up anyway (apparently, he was never micronized, either. Into Room 101 you go, original series!). By all means watch M7 again, but there's no point if you're looking for answers...

You thought so too? It's a shame Manga didn't include a credits list of the original Seiyuu. Yeah, just noticed it recently. I'm sure the credits are up on the internet somewhere if you look hard enough.

That's pretty questionable. The English dub had some decent cast but was ruined by terrible directing/scripting. I don't think the Japanese audio even had that - with the exception of the main character and the lack of bad English versions of the songs, I'd dare say the Japanese was worse. You sir are on crack. The Japanese version is far superior to...the ODD vo-cal pac.in..g offf th..e dU..b Well said. Jeez, who cares? It's all utter balls, either way. Although I did notice that it seems Basara's voice actor plays one of the UN Spacy guys in episode 1 and 5. I happened to be tolerating it yesterday when my 4-year-old brother forced us all to watch it. It made me so angry I think I'm gonna bring out DYRL from storage and wash the pain away.

Jeez... Long thread. I haven't read all of it so forgive me if what I say has already been mentioned. ATTENTION GRAHAM: POINTS TO CLEAR UP It does not say that the release will be in April, rather the caption explains that the picture is of a painted version of the same VF-0 design which was featured in the April issue of the magazine (this issue being the May one). It also notes that there WILL be further changes in the design prior to release. Therefore, the situation with the hip joints, tailfins and whatnot will probably be remedied. Having said that, the VF-0 is one ugly piece of crap. Bring on the SV-51!
