i believe it's because they're travelling at a speed too fast for transformation (you'd know if you're able to read the chinese subtitle) so they have to use vector thrust instead. later in the scene when you see the circular gauge go green indicating speed is ok, shin transformed into battroid. i think it was pretty cool- reminded me how edgard was always reminding shin to keep an eye on the gauge before transformation. Yeah, this was one of the few things I liked about this episode -- the little gauge that tells you when it is OK to transform. Shin needed to get away but at the speed he was travelling he couldn't switch modes to change direction, so he used vector thrustering until he was in transformation speed, at which point he stomped on Nora's head in Gerwalk.

Didn't know he did the character designs for Mospeada and Southern Cross, and even if he did, so what? All the official artwork and character designs I've seen for SDF: Macross have all the characters, especially the women, as androgenous blobs only given gender by their Voice Actors. EDIT: And yes, the "SDF-4" is an ugly, ugly thing that shouldn't even be seen on celluloid. Mikimoto did not do the designs for Mospeada or Southern Cross. As for the "blobs"... Er, yeah.

Hmm. Might just go for the single, then. Thanks.

Pirates of Dark Water. Karate Kid cartoon. They searched for the "shrine". Turtles Dino Riders The Dreamstone Holy crap... I've forgotten the rest. I actually watched the pathetic Dreamstone KNOWING it was stupid but it was better than anything else on. Those other shows must have been abysmal.

whoa... I am Gekigengar of that forum... all of a sudden, my alias made it's way here... I really had to share that, at Transfans.Com I believe that's Rick the Hunter's custom. Funny how the TF fans over there seem to believe that "most of the colouring work is already done on the chest". Hmm. The stripes are actually inverted, guys.

Knowing HG it will probably BE Yukikaze, just re-dubbed.

I wish they had included the scooter with the TF Collection reissue of Skids. That was a nice touch, because the actual Honda City back in the day did come with a scooter. On the subject of Lying Diaclone Purists, would you then have "Trollformers"?

umm...i think it's on Departure Thanks. I see it has also been released as a B-side on one of Minmi's singles. Hmm. Shall I get the single or the album... What to do, what to do...

I don't remember calling this a "review". I just said I wanted to share my feelings after seeing it. If you want the dirty details, PM me.

I want to see a review done like this: http://homepage.mac.com/thansson/reviews/M...MacrossZero.htm

Hey there, paisano. The Monster's claw is actually used to hook on to the platforms while it fires off its rounds so that the recoil doesn't shove it into the sea or something. OK, good thing about this episode -- We at last get to see that the UN Spacy and the Anti UN really are just as dirty as each other. This sorta goes back to what we were discussing in another thread, with regards to the Anti UN portrayed as "evil". As for the 0B -- Dunno. Shin flies an 0A in this episode (with the ghost/booster attached), but you already know that from the magazine scans.

Actually, there was no particular meaning in that smiley. Hehe, kinda like the show. I guess it IS fitting, after all!

Heh. This is the one reason that I think Transformers Headmasters (the dub) is the BEST SHOW IN THE UNIVERSE. Precisely because it is SUCH A PIECE OF RETARDED GARBAGE. I don't think any other TV show has entertained me more before or since. Narrator: "There are now TWO Optimus Primes!" Me: "What?? Where?! Show me them!!" That didn't entertain me at all... the dub made my head hurt It was hard to make out what they were saying and it wasn't usually worth the effort not that the sub is much better mind you... oi! http://homepage.mac.com/thansson/headmaste...e1/episode1.htm "Why would the decepticons come here?" Gee, ya gots me there, pal.

Macross Zero, Final Chapter. NO SPOILERS (In my opinion..) Yeah, I'm making a new topic because the old one is... slightly pointless ("Two days till Macross Zero"??). So, anyway, I saw this last night. I thought I would share my opinions, whilst being careful not to give away any plot details (yeah, like there are any). This thread can then be used for people to give their "reviews". First of all, the first five or ten minutes or so are appalling. Everything is rushed, and a lot of things make no sense. The gap between the end of part 4 and the beginning of part 5 has been bridged very badly, and with dire animation, too. You'll see what I mean (and if you don't, I'll explain in detail later). Then, action time. Action scenes are good, Nora vs. Shin is done pretty well. The script is awful as always, though ("I don't have time to fight you right now!" -- does EVERY anime in recent years have to have this line of dialogue?? Is there a rule?? Like "You got one on your tail" of yesteryear..) The Bird Man -- You know, even until I saw this episode, I was thinking (hoping) that when Sara talks of the "song of destruction", she was talking metaphorically. Alas. So what show am I watching at this point? Well, it's a cross between Macross 7 and Macross Plus. I was thinking, "Hey this reminds me of M7" and "hey, this bit's like MPlus!" alternately. And the last seven minutes or so are the stupidest in Macross history. The most ridiculous part comes right before the climax and involves Mao talking to Shin and it reminds me of some disney or WB comedy cartoons. This is the stupidest and single most pathetic scene in Macross. The only more ridiculous scene I can think of is the flying bicycle in SDF, and that was a dream. Hey, perhaps Macross Zero 5 was a dream? Hehe, you're joking, right, Shoji? Let's have the real ending now, yes? What? Bastard!! The "ending".... Pfff... What the hell. Actually, I think I'm gonna stop here. The extra -- Nah, it was not like Macross Zero Zero, it was a gathering of four of the voice actors so they can talk about their experiences of playing the roles. In fact done in much the same way as the gathering of the original cast when they gathered and did a talk about SDF. This recording can be found on the SDF Soundtrack, Volume V, "Rhapsody in Love - Macross no Ai". Anyway, back to the Zero cast. Well, I'm sorry but these guys are a bunch of losers, in my opinion. The girl who plays Mao seems to have the IQ of a speck of dust, and I think I could feel the guy who played Shin almost lose his patience with her. Anyway, he was by far the most interesting of the lot (though that doesn't make him interesting per se), and it kind of cheered me up to hear him talking in Osaka dialect. I don't think it's a spoiler to mention one of the things he says which is of particular interest to Macross fans, but some people may disagree with me, so I'll leave it out for now. You're all gonna watch it, anyway. So, bottom line ----> Macross 0.5 gets a big "Bwa-haha-haha-ha!!" from me. Although I paid money to rent the bloody thing, so I guess the joke is on me. Curse you, Kawamori!! You are stripped of the title of "Froating Head"! You are banished from the land!! EDIT -> Added the "No spoilers" heading.

Official Transformers Alternators and more thread.

Hey, I forgot to add the latest chapter in the ever-expanding story of Binaltech!! OK, so last time we had introduced the four Smokescreens, controlled by using the GT system, developed by Chip Chase (yeah, the kid in the wheelchair from the show). This time, we have two Meisters. Except that unlike Smokescreen, one Meister is the "real" one, while the other has been developed artificially by Professor Fairborne (?), by uploading Meister's personality. It must be emphasised that the original Meister is a 'true' Super Robot Lifeform, while this second Meister still has a lot to learn. Meister calls this second version of himself "Zoom-Zoom" (I kid you not -- Mazda even let them use their slogan!), and during leisure hours teaches him about music and Earth culture, etc. Yes, this thing gets more ridiculous with every release. I wonder what new developments will come next time.... (Actually, you couldn't pay me to care). -
Not every Yamato. The VF-19A isn't there.

No kidding! After watching it I can't help but feel like they had planned all along to take a break after episode 17. The ending, the song, the credits, the "to be (or not to be) continued" at the end...they obviously tried to set it apart from the other episodes. My hopeful speculation is that they're using the extra time to work on a Champloo movie. And I've yet to see any sort of news at all about toys, goods or any kind of product for this series. Come on, I'll take a gashapon set or even a freakin cell phone dangler...just give me something! As for the ending, I think they must have thrown that together at the last minute when the decision to cancel came. And with regards to merchandise, there are a number of CDs out already. Well, one speculation is as good as another I guess. As for the CDs, I know about thouse...I need something more tangible than music! But.. There is NOTHING more tangible than music!! Because you feel it not with your hands, but with your heart!! Hear my baby comin' down the track Betcha my baby's comin' back Someday she'll get back to me We're gonna raise a family We're gonna groove, Yeah groove Yeah we're gonna groove We're gonna love, love, love... 'til the break of day By the way, on which CD is the ending song (I think it's called Shisetsu no uta) on?

Macrossworldfest Japan 2004 fall
Renato replied to Bariaburu Faita's topic in Conventions and Local Gatherings
I do have photographs, but it will probably be a while before I am able to post them, as I have to use my girlfriend's PC. Unless I can find a computer that doesn't have some stupid fascist firewall thing to disallow me from uploading stuff. -
two more days till Macross Zero ep-5 release
Renato replied to treatment's topic in Movies and TV Series
The rental stores should have episode 5 in by now... I don't see what's taking so long. When ep. 4 came out, it was on rental a short while before the sale version. As for Shin -- he's Japanese-American. Reading some of the hype in the Japanese magazine articles, this could be the biggest Macross ending let-down ever. "Will the Bird Man destroy the earth?" "Who will win -- Ivanof or Roy?" "Can Shin save Sara?" Well, duh. It's a prequel, so we already know the outcome of the first two. And yes, Shin will save Sara. They're the goodies. Bleah. This series has got 35 minutes (plus a 10-minute extra feature, apparently) to redeem itself. Or I'm condemning it to that bin of pointless sequels that Macross II and Terminator 3 etc. have been thrown into. We'll shove Gunbuster 2 in there while we're at it. -
Unless it is now the year 1992, the design is over 20 years old. The Takatoku's were originally produced around 1982. However, if I'm wrong and it really is 1992, I have a second chance to make up for A LOT of missed opportunities in my alternatre reality! Hehe. Can you imagine if we were living in 1992 again, and posting on this forum? We'd be all excited about.......... MACROSS II!!

The Official Aim for the Top! Gunbuster Thread
Renato replied to Noriko Takaya's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
There's no Mikimoto in it, so I'm not particularly interested. (And that goes for both the Perfect Guide and Top2) -
I think you are a little confused. Takara has been making the toys from the very beginning. Takara MADE Diaclone toys. Diaclone is not the name of a toy company, it is one of Takara's toy lines.
