BT version Ravage just came out in Japan and he's called... "Ravage"!! OK, for those who don't know, the original Ravage in Japan was called "Jaguar" (while Laserbeak was called "Condor"... Stupid unimaginative translators), and so I had always foreseen difficulties if they were to release him under that name in Japan and not have him transform into a Jaguar-make car. Well, they took care of that by giving him his proper name 21 years later.

Well, a puny amount of news is better than no news. Thanks, Graham. Regarding this time-travel technology that the magazine industry uses (since it's the April issue and we're still not even in March) I think we can read "2005 release" as "next year". Anyway, I think Yamato will put a bit more effort into this thing than the putrid VF-0, so it should not be a cancelled project.

The "something" I am 90% sure is 時. As for 下部, I see that now, you may be right. I read that as one kanji slightly spread out, and I thought it was 砲, so I read it as "cannon". Seems like even with that description we're still in the dark as to what those things actually are.

"Dogfighter" = Macross, for me. Bada-dada-BAM! Bah-bah-bada-dada-BAM!

Err... Let's see.. Off the top of my head: Mari Iijima (Minmay) sang Angel Voice, Yoshiki Fukuyama (Basara) sang Macross... I think it was Ishtar who sang Voices... Hmm. That's all I can remember. Maybe Tomo Sakurai (the crap Mylene -- there were two) sang a Minmay song, but she had done that before, so maybe she sang a Macross II song or something. Hope that helped. Anyway, those top two are right. Those are the ones I listen to, anyway.

Yes. I translated the script for that scene. Wonder what happened to it? Did anybody save it? Have the old boards gone forever..? Anyway, Max is a traitor, because in that scene they used Max and Millia's marriage as a culture shock weapon to get the Zentradi to surrender their arms and "embrace the love" or something. They would then seize the opportunity to launch a strike against Fishbowlhead (Bodolzaa). So ther you have it. Women are UNIVERSALLY evil.

The last kanji is just a scribble to me, I'd have to show it to somebody else, but what I can read is "the double chest *things* during Battroid mode" (*things* is where the enigmatic kanji is). Could well be nipples, for all we know. Funny how Kawamori's designs are so pretty, yet his writing sucks. -- EDIT -- I tried a different strategy, and thought of what it COULD be... I tried the kanji for "cannon" and I think it matches up pretty well, so in my view, them there be "double chest cannons during Battroid mode".

Bugs Bunny and Friends. The NEXT Generation?
Renato replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Precisely why I want to watch it. -
Well, it's a little early yet, but the kits will most likely be made from resin. Regarding the parts themselves, given the significant differences between the single and double seat valks, I would say that it will probably contain... An entirely new fuselage section. New cockpit details, chairs, and pilots. New canopy. New Chestplate New Head. New BP8 (head hatch). If we do the VT-1 or the VE-1 then the kits will contain all of the above PLUS... New boosters New Leg Armors Add on parts for VE-1 (Radomes etc) That being said, you will probably have to have a moderate amount of skill in assembling/disassembling the Yamato 1/48 toy, and Painting will definitely be required since none of the two seater valks are even close in color to any of the current toy versions. But, until we actually get further along on this, and Captain America starts designing etc, there's no way to tell how many parts there will be etc. Hope this helps. Are the "pilots" going to be Racer outfit Hikaru and Minmay from the first episode? Because that is what I would suggest. Also I like the fan-designed box, but I also would like to see other box designs, too, not necessarily in line with the Yamato Macross product style. I'm thinking more along the lines of the new Scopedog box art, or maybe old-school Bandai 1/55 SuperO or Elint box art.

Bugs Bunny and Friends. The NEXT Generation?

Hmm. I want to watch "Bugs Nips the Nips", that sounds interesting... -
I remember when the guy who made that site was a member here. He had one of those unoriginal Macross-themed names, though, so I can't remember what he was called, unfortunately. Blue Skull or Skull Max or something. Even back in the day I had trouble working out who was whom. Only one of those "Standard name" guys I really remember well was Skullone (the Greek guy), with his unique personality.

The BT version hasn't come out yet. It'll be called Overdrive when it is released.

1/55s rule all. Nostalgic value is pretty much the most important thing in my mind. The 1/48s are pretty to look at but they will never be as meaningful to me as the 1/55. That toy amazes me even today. Now I just want the rest of the line reissued!

Ditto. I got the Robotech one for one or two British pounds, no more. Looked like a bootleg. I guess it kinda was. I should have got a whole army of them, really, just for giggles... The colours are much nicer on this one, though. Of course.

There was a relatively large tremor in my area (Osaka) last autumn while I was away for a couple of weeks in Aichi Prefecture. It was really long and there were three further aftershocks the following days. I remembered I had left my 1/48 Strike fully armoured with all the fix-ins in Battroid mode on my shelf and I expected to find it pulverized on the floor when I finally arrived home, but it was still upright, in "Target: Bodolzaa" pose as if nothing had happened. I was very impressed. Those things aren't as wobbly as they look. Don't judge a hook by its lover. Or something.
-
One of my 1/48s also came without one ring. Don't mind so much because that is the least important piece as far as I'm concerned, but it's the principle.. Oh, Yamato QC, why must thee sucketh so?

What sort of trouble could you get into?? They'd have to first of all begin speaking to you for that to happen! -
That was too funny LMAO. I actually thought it was a real video game until Hikaru bounces off Minmay's head and crashes. Where did you find it. Somewhere inside my screwed-up mind (take a look at the credits).

Can someone explain this picture from Macross 7?
Renato replied to UN Spacy's topic in Movies and TV Series
Holy Muscular Jesus H Tapdancing Christ. Another "M7 sucks" thread. It's been eleven years. GET OVER IT!! The pic is from Fleet of the Strongest Women, from the narration scene at the beginning. But I doubt anyone cares anymore. -
The Official Yamato VB-6 Monster Thread

Last night one of the infamous connector pegs at the back broke off on mine, with the other one soon to go. It's one of those "Peg breaks off while stuck lodged inside the hole" nightmare scenarios. Anyone know how to fix this? It used to happen on my transformers of yesteryear... This is the main problem with the toy, those things are under so much stress, even straight out of the box. In one way, I hope this re-issue fix thing is true, but in another, it gets on my nerves that I'm expected to buy two of the same thing. Oh, well, a recolour would be nice, like the darker one with the red inner shoulders as posted before. On the whole, a great but flawed toy. Heh, that should be Yamato's motto. A "Yamotto", of sorts. -
No, you're right. The ones shown here are Gashapons, at Y200 a pop. No doubt there are toys in the works, though. And if not, WHY NOT??
