You're talking about this scene, right? 272836[/snapback] Awesome stuff, AlphaHX. The only teeny tiny problem is that Max was leading that mission so he should be in the middle. That's it. Nice work!

OK, I just checked out the latest issue of the ever-so trustworthy Figure Oh. They have more close-up shots of the figures and they look a lot better than this one pic we've been looking at. Shammy's face looks more like Shammy than any of the other bridge bunnies, but it's still a bit off, in my opinion. As for Isamu, they've taken a low-angle shot of him and put him against a sky background which makes him look a lot more like himself, and not as dwarf-like. His suit is still a bit chunky, though. Alas, they don't even reveal the sillhouette of the chase figure, but it is confirmed that there are 6 figures plus one "secret" in the set. So keep those suggestions coming!! Me, I think it's Sharon Apple -- In Black Box form!!

A little info for comparison's sake: The Australian release, by Madman, of the AnimEigo restored Macross series comes in a box set of 6 discs -- three standard DVD cases with plastic insert trays so that each case can carry 2 discs. It comes with three booklets, one for each DVD case, containing Egan Loo's liner notes. The ONLY reference to AnimEigo I have found is on the last page of one of the liner notes booklets, where it says "Special Thanks to Animeigo" or something. Well, unless you count the mention of Animeigo's role in the restoration process during the Ishiguro interview on disc 6. www.madman.com.au/actions/catalogue.do?releaseId=3470&method=view So there you go. I doubt ADV will credit Animeigo with anything more than a brif mention, and certainly not on the cover. Of course, I could be wrong, though.

Yes, YES, YES!! I couldn't wait for this DVD back when Shawn first teased us about it and now it looks like the content is expanding... Man, tell me I'm not just dreaming and this will actually get made!
-
Max also has become really muscular all of a sudden... Whaaat?? When was this??
-
I agree. That thing looks nothing like Shammy. In fact, it looks just like a stock anime figure they had leftover from another series and they decided to just mod it slightly. There is the possibility that they got the wrong name on the label.. doubt it, though. No worries -- They'll probably end up calling her "Jammy" or something.

OK. Except in this case, notice that the "ya" kana is actually smaller case, therefore the rule applies that it is mixed with the first syllable, meaning that the combination of the first two characters are read as "sha". Romanizing it as "Shiya" would imply that there are two separate syllables for those first two characters, "shi" and "ya", whereas this is not the case. Which is why "Shammy", "Shamii" etc. are all acceptable... But "Shiyami" would change the overall pronounciation. If you don't believe me, just listen to the audio in the show. And I wouldn't rely on the cards... I mean, we all know there is nobody in the show called "Vanetha".

I only recognise three people. Shawn -- he's looking pretty smart there Seiichi -- gotta love that T-shirt Mari -- gotta just love HER. Man. Wish I could have gone. Thanks for all the photos. It's amazing that you got Mari to come, I can't believe it. You lucky LA dudes!!
-
OK, the Macross Compendium says the official spelling is Shammy, so let's go with that.
-
OK.... but, it's not, sorry.
-
You're kidding, right?? They'll never even make a Shiba or Enicar, or even Mahara (hottest girl in Macross)! Well, I'm sure you're joking.
-
#4 is Shamii. You know, the little squeaky girl from SDF and DYRL. Was it always just six figures? Or were there more in the other sets? Might be worth getting a Max. But I agree that the Flowe Girl is a wasted figure, as is the VF-1S cockpit (just a repaint). At least we get an Isamu. I really wanted a Sharon Apple, or maybe a shower Minmay, as Graham mentioned.
-
What? I thought we already knew that. They were called "Ghosts" all throughout the original series. And what is the Super Bird?
-
I haven't heard the file, but I assume you are referring to the album version that's available on "Macross The Complete" OST or Mari's "Blanche" album. If so, that song should be on the iMacross servers if you don't already have the CD. No need for so much hassle.

*raises issue of "canon" continuity of this forum versus the movie version. As long as Kakizaki dies in both the movie forum and the actual forum, it'll be ok. Bah. We can worry about that when we make a sequel twenty years from now. Of course, by then we'll have to put up with whining fanboys from the "Macrossworld-The-Movie Forums" who claim their adolescence was raped because we're using the forum costumes and not the movie costumes...

Shawn and Graham survey the wasted landscape of MacrossWorld, now merely a shadow of what it once was. The camera zooms in on Shawn's face. A single tear drops from his sad eye. Fade to black. Totally agree with Sebastian. OK, JK and Sebastian, that's it. We three are gonna make "Macrossworld: The Movie", the ultimate epic tale of the heroic struggle for the sake of all that is good. Starring Shawn Klueck, Graham Parkes... and John Malkovich as the Evil MGREXX. Special appearance by Carl Macek as "the director", "scriptwriter", "creator", "producer" and "executive in charge of global distribution outside of Japan". Oh, and Bankofkev as "Man #6".
-
Wow. Looking at that list it seems like most of the threads MGREXX posted on have been locked. Now that sends home more signals than any thread like this could ever do. I didn't even know you could do that kind of search. If someone had done that in the very beginning, ramming the points right on home, maybe the mods would have taken notice (and action) earlier. Oh well.
-
we could bring back CTLesq or bankofkev or that guy from the "Warzone"(i forget his name). Ah, the good old days. Aw, gawd. Banky. I think MGREXX is but a mere small fry compared to this galactic dreamer. Well, I hear he's fulfilled his dreams now, working at Macek Central, with a nose a fine shade of maroon.

I feel so pretty.

So you have to be a well-known poster to get a custom title? Hmm. I've been here since 2000, but how well-known am I? Maybe I should stop keeping a low profile and cause some hazards. Let's see... Making sexist comments... hmm.... Flaming M7 and RT fans.... nah... Oh, how about hacking the forums? Hummph. Damn, all of these have already been done in the past week! Dammit, guys, leave some evildoings for the rest of us!! How am I supposed to become infamous this way??
-
Indeed, are there any pics in other modes? I remember there was a whole website dedicated to this costume, it was absolutely awesome. Best cosplay ever!! And I never saved any of the pics.... We NEED to get the old forums back online!!
-
Yes, I actually own this one. "Sorprendente Transformacion!" It's an official Bandai release, so the box design is the same as the Japanese release (except for the text being in Spanish and French, and no Macross logo anywhere), and as far as I know the actual toy is, too. The only intriguing thing is that while the Japanese release seems to have two separate polystyrene trays for the valk and FAST packs, the Spanish one has no break in the middle and so is just one whole piece of polystyrene.

Usually I don't care for this type of figure, but this one looks REALLY nice. I wonder if it has been finished by now?
-
i though Abombz!! was a guy!! that´s surprising. Yeah, I did too. Huh.
-
But he never did anything in the show. I hardly remember any appearances by him! Anyway, that Alternator design is horrible, it looks like a cheap bootleg.
