OK, just checked out Quanto and it only has a half-page of GBP, so it's not worth it.
-
Of course.... but just the once. Then you gotta go buy another.
-
If they rerelease Leo, they would also need to rerelease the other guy, Starsaber, or Victory saber or something. The one he combines with. They recently made RobotMaster versions of those so you may be confused..? Anyway, yeah, I saw Star Convoy and it looks atrocious. The stripe sticker on te side looks like it was applied by monkeys because it was jagged and uneven on EVERY one of the Convoys I saw...

I don't think that's an Ultraman on the cover of #91. I think it's one of the bad guys from the latest Masked Rider show. And #91 doesn't have GBP pics, it has pics of the Yamato 1/60 scale VF-0S, which I have already scanned and posted on page #8 of the VF-0S thread nearly a month ago when #91 was first published. Graham 332702 Yeah, that was Masked Rider on the previous issue, which you did scan. The new one has Ultraman, plus it comes with Ultraman figures. It must be #92. Also, the new issue of Quanto has tons of new pics as well, so I hear. Damn my backwater town!

Heads up: New Figure Oh (Ultraman issue) has new pics of GBP and Aquarion. I heard from a friend. Someone..............??
-
It is?? Oh, man. Graham, new Figure Oh is out!! SCAAAAAANNNSSsssss................. please?

There ARE two different coverings; one for the nosecone, one for without.

Any MWers in the London area?
Renato replied to bigkid24's topic in Conventions and Local Gatherings
Yeah, there's a number of comic shops in that area, but I never knew any of them stocked toys. Except Forbidden Planet, of course. Hmm, I may have to check that out.. -
Never knew Smart and Gadget were one and the same. They were both childhood icons of mine. Rest in peace, Mr. Adams.

http://www.bit-craft.net/mc3.htm here state that PART3 have clear version minmei, and this is the only one in part3,but I haven't see it... if yes , part 3 total have 8 different figure 331905 Yeah, you're right there... Hmm. That's some interesting news: so what are we looking at here, TWO CHASE FIGURES?? Great.

Found this Transformers Movie Reconstructed DVD Review and the results, sadly, dont seem to favourable.... 331579 Thanks for the info. Hmm. Well, that's that, then. Guess I'll get the Japanese release after all, with the Japanese/English selectable audio track... the lack of any other extras is really annoying, though.
-
They've been dropped?? Oh, man, I never noticed. Guess I'll miss 'em for the both of us. Actually, I couldn't care less about the nosecone, but I loved the flaps enough that "moveable wingflaps!!" became a catchphrase of mine -- I used it a lot when I was telling friends how awesome the 1/48 was. I guess it's "moveable cockpit!!" now.

Nooooo!! La-la-la-la! Not listening! La-la-la-la-la! All things considered, one of the things I LOVED about this show was the character interactivity and relationships between Basara, Mylene, Gamlin and Ray. Even if I didn't care much for one or two of them, it was very entertaining to watch them work together, argue, etc.
-
NOT Gamlin? I think that's the first time someone's said that. 331733 Yeah, I mean, I understand why he's there and what purpose he serves in the narrative, but he's just... a fool. Besides, I've heard him sing. In fact, the next person who pisses me off on this board gets a full dose of Seventh Moon, Gamlin style. Proof that the devil himself created MP3s.

Well, that would make it look like every other sci-fi anime show. It just wouldn't BE Macross 7 anymore. Besides, Kawamori DID JUST THAT and we got that laughable Macross Zero. OK, what did I like about it: The music, the characters (except Mylene and Gamlin to an extent), some of the Valkyries (in particular the Full Armoured Thunderbolt) the premise of emotion and the human spirit being more powerful than weapons. I do however also want to mention that I did not like the fact that Sound Force valks had faces and boobs, nor the ridiculous Fire Bomber stage costumes and the endless recycling of footage. I've always felt that the premise of M7 was great but the show was ruined by its execution and presentation. On the whole, I enjoyed the show and others I introduced it to did, too. I ought to mention that M7 seems to be more popular among females than SDF Mac, in my experience. Girls in general seem to really hate Minmay.

Cool, I hope to be getting that new TFTM movie DVD soon, since I only have the VHS version. The box art sucks, though -- I've always hated that one. The UK movie cover was always infinitely better, some Japanese guy did it. The original printing of the DVD version had it... How comes they can't re-use it? Oh, and for the record -- Prime sucks (looks like a bootleg), and so do the Star Wars thingies. I heard the only reason they decided to make the SRT10 into Prime is 'cos pickup trucks don't really exist in Japan, but if they market it as Convoy, the Japanese will buy it. Yeah, not if it looks like THAT, Takara.

OT: Does Anyone remember or play this game?
Renato replied to B-52 GUNNER's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I loved Battlezone, I used to go to the arcade almost every weekend as a little kid to play this, and Galaxian or some stuff like that. The cabinet was also unique, as you had to view the thing through this very small viewfinder. I remember not being quite tall enough, so the game also took a physical toll on me! -
Any MWers in the London area?
Renato replied to bigkid24's topic in Conventions and Local Gatherings
Yeah, they have lots of stuff there. I used to go there all the time while I was working in Battersea about six years ago. There are two blokes who run that shop, a balding guy and a guy with a tache. The bald one was cool but the other guy was always a bit of a bastard. He seems to hate Macross and when I told him Yamato and Toycom were making new valk toys he laughed in my face. Regardless, he kept trying to sell me this bloody overpriced Orguss/Macross model kit book. Man, sweet memories. I'm planning to go back for Christmas, so I'll see what they've got there in the way of old-school merchandise. I bet you that book will still be there. Honestly they've got stuff they haven't been able to get rid of since the time of the original broadcasts, I'm surprised how they ever managed to remain afloat. -
Just took this one: the background is my girlfriend's house, hence all the soft toys. This Millia is one of the things I asked her to hold on for me while I was in the process of moving. Been a few months since it saw the light of day. The second pic is just old-school chunky goodness, with some new-fangled low-vis shenanigans thrown in for good measure. Hmm... time to find that "1/55 love" thread...
-
Problem is, that wouldn't look so great -- the white shoulder pieces would be extremely jarring. I've also noticed one other thing in those pics, though: The addition of a dark grey version of the white FAST pack stabiliser piece thing that comes with the FAST pack sets. If they can do that in grey, then I want my low-vis shoulders!!
-
To coin a phrase, that's just Komilicious.
-
Cool photos. Shame about the heatshield, lord knows these bastards aren't cheap and they ought to come with everything if you're paying that much. Having said that, I'm more of a 1/55 guy and I love that CF... it appears to be a Takatoku original, not a Bandai. From the pics the condition looks amazing. That is pretty much a work of art. 1/55s forever!!
-
Well, my friend told me that whenever a series stops getting fansubbed, it's cos it's been licensed. Which kinda makes sense. Whatever you do, don't go learning Japanese!! Choose life!!

That's just it -- I have not seen this thing on ANY shelves yet. The only time I've actually seen one in person is when Rob who ordered them specially showed me the cases he had and took one out to show me. Other than that I've not seen these in any shops, anywhere. I'm willing to go with that "more limited than the low viz" thing. At least I remember seeing stacks of those everywhere when they actually got released. But to go back to your point -- yeah, the box is the worst one yet. Looks like they're putting all their aesthetic efforts into the Scopedog.
