  1. That robot is a bit on the spindly side for me, but that's still sweet. Wish we could get the instructions for the SV-51, too, though.
  2. Funny coincidence. I did actually get mine out of storage a few weeks ago and gave it to my little brother. I like the way you can store the missiles in the legs... I think he lost them already, though... EDIT- Just remembered something: Of course, the problem with the G2 tank is that in BWII or BW Neo or whichever damn show it appeared in, the character was not actually Megatron, it was "Megastorm". I guess it didn't affect the usage of the design for "Reverse Convoy" in the RobotMasters line, though.
  3. GBP Low-Vis. Kinda weird, but cool.
  4. Oh, man... I just remembered something. I have a bootleg Blazer Valkyrie which also has terrible Engrish on the back of the box. I should have scanned the box when I found it in the garage last week. I'm back in Japan since last night so that's not gonna be possible for a while now. Anyone have it handy? It's something like "a group of humans who they are famous musicians try to save the world in that danger time."
  5. Yeah, I've got them, they're on the second CD of Macross The Complete. Sounds like they're making up a story to hide the fact that they would need a license from Victor to actually get hold of the tracks, and HG is not gonna allow them to open THAT can of worms. Someone should just lend Mari and ADV their CD, hehe.
  6. Yeah, apparently all his internal organs would be constantly visible. Seriously. That later changed to a Venom-style suit where the Superman suit would come onto his body by itself when he needs it. Sigh.. I especially like the bit about Justin Timberlake being offered the role. AND he even turned it down, saying "whatever you guys are smoking, I won't no part in it". It really makes you think when even people like him begin questioning artistic integrity in a project.
  7. Indeed. I am "undecided" mainly because I am not in Region 1 so I may hold out for a while to see if they come out in the UK. I have the Region 4 Australian release of SDF Macross and I never thought I would ever need any more, but here we are, the implausible has happened and Mari is reprising her role as Minmay. We all know this is the role she was born to play and however bad the rest of the cast is, the dub will be a gem simply because of that fact. Actually, it might have terrible acting and poor translation paraphrasing, but I don't care, it is a brand new incarnation of Minmay and of Macross itself, something we have been waiting over 20 years for, and as a bonus it brings us one step closer to the abolishment of Row-Boat-Heck. I'll still keep my old DVDs for the Ishiguro interview, and also for the cool "make your own dub" option.
  8. It's also overpriced. Those little ARII 1/170 kits are really crappy, the figures are out of scale, and I think I've seen the base used for other anime/sci-fi model series. I couldn't see it seriously going for more than $80 and thats only for completists. 343348[/snapback] It's been on sale for a hundred pounds in Comet Miniatures in the UK for many, many years. I really doubt they have sold that thing buy now. When I go back for Christmas I bet it'll still be there.
  9. Actually he did draw a lot of the main animation keyframes in at least the first episode of Mac II, check out "Haruhiko Mikimoto Illustrations". The best looking episodes of SDF Mac and Orguss, plus a lot of scenes in DYRL look so good because Mikimoto himself was doing the keyframes.
  10. Figure Oh:
  11. For the Gerwalk's "hands", you can form some cool claw-type things, check it out. I forgot to take photos of the Gerwalk, but here is what I mean on the Luna.
  12. I was gonna write a review, but then the review section changed and I thought Roy might consider it not strictly Macross so I didn't bother. Anyway if you don't already own any Hummingbird albums I think it is a good buy. But rather than the album I recommend the DVD. 13. Kyoto in da haus, yo.
  14. Really?? Where did you see him? You mean he is no longer in Japan? Ah, well...
  15. That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. And it's absolutely true. Nice stuff, Exo.

    1/55's revisited

Whhooooaah!! THAT's impressive. Is the quality of that boot on par with the other Joons's? VERY nice find, dude.
  17. I've said it before, I'll say it again: HOLY KAWAMORI!! I am so getting this bad boy.
  18. Cool. I never did finish the stories because I no longer have access to Perfect Memory. Also, as an aside -- I can't believe that was two years ago.
  19. Agreed. To me that's the whole point of having Soundwave and Blaster. I'd like to see them bring out another set like the Minibot set, but with cassettes. Especially Squawktalk and Beatbox.
  20. Mylene is an actual name. It's French.
  21. Wow, I didn't know the music was done by Joe Hisaishi. He does the Miyazaki and Beat Takeshi films. It must be good. Danth -- thanks for the offer, I'll think about it and PM you. Cyclone -- That's interesting news, thanks. But I would rather see the original.
  22. Yeah, not that easy when they're out of print. Recently I've really wanted to get into this show too. But in the total of two and a half or 3 years that I have been in Japan I have not ONCE seen this on video nor DVD. Dammit. And I'm from the UK where you can't get Robotech anyway, only up to the Paradise Lost episode of Macross, after which Kiseki just gave up. Should've recorded it when it waas on the sci-fi channel. I agree 100% with the old-school anime crowd though, I've just seen Orguss and Megazone 23 and they are by far more entertaining than anything else on TV right now. I saw the last episode of Aquarion and I just groaned. Meanwhile, the Orguss finale gave me a lump in my throat. Old school banzai!
  23. EDIT -- Forget it, I'm just being stupid all day today.
  24. I would agree with you on instinct, but I have come to realise that a lot of this is just based on nostalgia. I mean, let's face it, these toys always were and always will be bricks. When the RM versions came out a while ago I was thinking to myself, man, I really would've loved the original. Now I'm thinking, what the hell would I do with one?? Not that I'm against nostalgia, I think it's a good thing overall that these things are being given a new lease of life. Although the return of Wheelie was a kick in the nuts.
  25. That's why I hate it when they say "all-star voice cast". Kamiya is showing no signs of retiring so just let him do the bloody voice already. Same deal with the TF movie... We want the original voices, dammit!
