1. He was speculating about the GBP system for the 1/60 VF-0S Phoenix. 371490 BTW it's not called the Phoenix anymore, it's just "Zero". Apparently.
2. Ah, sweet. I was thinking, if the articulated figure is any good I want some other characters, too, like Yui, and of course, Eve, too.
3. OMIGOD that's the guy!! Hehe, no, actually I remember it being smaller. I wonder if it was a different type which I saw, then. Hmm. I certainly got the feeling it was a scaled-down version. Then again, I may be misremembering since it took me by surprise.
4. Yeah they were for special mail-in offers. In the old-school TFs you could buy non-store toys like Reflector, Camshaft and Overdrive, etc., as well as joining the S.T.A.R.S. group which I'm sure some other poster will remember what the acronym stands for but it was like a fanclub with all your own crap. Dunno about GI Joes. I never got any of this stuff cos I used to live outside of the applicable regions...
5. Like this, I think: As for the Wild Sau -- I don't remember that huge-ass thing being in MZ23 II. Huh. Might have to watch it again.... Although that means having to get through those gruesome gore scenes at the start. Man that was tough to watch even for a cartoon. In any case I wouldn't call that thing a "variation" as far as toys are concerned because it will be a totally new mold rather than a few altereations here and there, which means Yamato having to start from scratch. If we still haven't seen two-seater VF1's then I wouldn't expect this guy for the next couple of years at the very least. I think the standard military guys will be next. And apparently the rider can sit inside while you transform the toy -- now that's cool. I'm sorry, but I'm more excited about this than the VF-0.
6. Hey I was in Osaka one day and I swear there was a guy which passed me on an Akira bike. It looked significantly small compared to the anime, but nonetheless, I would recognise the design anywhere. He wasn't even going that fast, really, but he still didn't give me time to take my camera out, unfortunately.
7. Doesn't specify.
8. Nice find. The little note written there says that even at 1/60 scale the volume of the 0S is comparable to the 1/48 VF-1. It also mentions the inclusion of an attachment for compatibility with a display stand, and predicts a fast sell-out, "So preorder now!!"
9. Vehicle mode looks a little more tolerable in those shots. Might just be the angle....
10. Hehe. Not been following too closely, I see. See above: Figure Oh reports a poseable figure will be included. I dunno if it will be as poseable as a Microman, but if we get one like the Chirico figure I'll be happy. One has to consider that that figure was sold separately at Y3000 though, so I'm not expecting miracles.
11. Are these official items or just some fanboys way to make a buck? Also, are they actually "painted" a different color or are they molded out of those colors? 365115 No, they are official! They have been molded in different colours. Often the variants available on Ehobby are the original Diaclone colour versions of the TF reissues. So, that is why there are more Red Tracks, green Blitzwings and silver Skids available now -- the only ones you could get up until now were the late 70s/ early 80s Diaclones, before they became TFs. Note also that they sometimes also involve remolding, as the silver Skids has a different head design to the normal Skids. Plus, it includes a mini-scooter, like the original Diaclone (in turn, a model of the one actually included with the real Honda City at the time in Japan). This was done to make it as close to the diaclone original as possible. So, they are more than just "repaints" in some cases. In others, however, they really are just excuses for a quick buck -- like the meaningless "Orion Pax" recolour of Kup and Wheelie. But they are official Takara products, nonetheless. The irony at the moment is that in the case of Galvatron II, this time it is the purple "anime-correct" repaint that has acquired an official release, with the "original colour version" only available through E-hobby. In contrast, E-hobby sold the "anime correct" Astrotrain as a limited item while the white version was on general release. Phew!
12. It's an online shop: http://www.e-hobby.co.jp/ A lot of the reissue TFs have Limited Edition repaints available only through e-hobby.
13. Bandai Visual is not an anime studio, I believe it is a distributor.
14. It's the name of the main character, dude.
15. Fgure Oh states it will be poseable.
16. I dug this up : It's from February... Jesus, I hadn't realised it had been almost a year withot any news of this thing. Wonderfest 2005
17. Wasn't sure if I ought to start a new thread or put this in here: Variable Motorcycles Thread Anyway, here is the info so far on the upcoming transforming Garland toy by Yamato: * 1/15 scale * Release is scheduled for June * Price will be 17,640 * Transformation will involve magnets * A gun and poseable Shogo rider figure will be included * It's damn cool. My sources are mainly the internet and the 1/60 VF-0S thread in the toy section, I have just put it all in one thread. However, I must say that I have read conflicting information elsewhere that the price would be 16,800 and will arrive in May... But I may have been hallucinating. Here are some pics from other threads (I'm re-attaching them 'cos I dunno how to just display them from the other thread, it tells me some crap about dynamic thingymajigs), plus some which I added just for comparison:
18. Rumble looks like a RiD design.
19. Yeah, I think so! Super Dimension Warpess Misa.
20. My God, can't believe I forgot all that stuff. Especially the "VF-1R". All the more reason to have never animated it. It also showed us that Hikaru keeps a mini Minmay doll hanging in his cockpit, like a rear-view mirror mascot. Where the hell is it hanging from?? For some reason, the thing I still cannot get my mind around is Misa sitting on the Valk's shoulder. Under what possible circumstance would that ever be plausible?! I am sorry, but this thing was doomed from day one, the scripting and storyboarding stage. I mean, even if you blame all the outside studios for the crappy animation you still have idiots doing the storyboards. Edit: Anyway, referring to my previous post, here are some pics from Love Concert, that "Masturpiece".
21. Forgive me if I missed something in this thread, but I don't think anyone mentioned that a possible use of the recap episodes was just to save time and money. Episodes like Goodbye Girl took a hell of a lot of work to put out and all the outsourcing in the world still couldn't help Studio Nue from missing deadline after deadline. They were already heavy on the repeats when they missed deadlines, so I think one way of meeting airdates while avoiding showing repeats is just to chop together a clip show and be done with it. Another thing is that VCRs hadn't taken off yet. Which makes the recap episodes in modern shows all the more inexcusable these days. As for my least favourite show, other than the obvious Virgin Road (what with the dagger fight, and the Macross Wedding Cake, WTF), are Love Concert and that one where Minmay gets kidnapped by Kamjin. Love Concert is the one where Kamjin's troops sneak on board the Macross through the Daedalus. The whole premise is ridiculous and the animation is dire. Plus there is the added melodrama of Hikaru IN HIS VALKYRIE walking down the street, the wind whistling around him as he contemplates the vision he just saw of Minmay kissing Kaifun. Macross was always schmaltzy but this was ridiculous. And the second one, I can't even remember the name but it is the most pathetic episode for me. So much happens! It's so bad, it's good. Let's see, from memory: we open with Misa sitting on the VF1-S's shoulder as it's walking around!! Then later Kamjin grabs Minmay and Kaifun in the middle of a concert and contacts Global and the gang and it all feels like a Seinfeld episode. "Helloooo, Newman", "Hello, Jerry." By the end of the show we have Kamjin riding a monster like a cowboy, Glaugs using their gun-arms like windmills to bash valks, and Gerwalks boxing with the best of 'em. The final scene is inexplicably bizarre, as Misa chuckles like a mental patient while she watches SOMEBODY who wears the same clothes as Minmay run after Hikaru's valk.
22. It stays on fine on my reissue 1J, but it doesn't stay on my Low-vis. Which is annoying because I prefer using the white piece that came with the Fast pack set on the 1J, and the grey one on the Low-vis. Oh well...
23. I'll save you time -- the full version was unreleased. The mp3 everyone is talking about was created by capturing the audio of the FB2012 DVD version.
24. Renato

Age Check! :)

When this topic was started I was 22 but now I am 24... Damn.
25. No way! Is that a real commercial? I used to have that watch. I never knew it transformed into so many things...
