I thought the Kawamori Holy Floating Head stuff was funny.

Hmm. I wrote summaries for all four episodes of Macross Classic, they are offline now though. I can find them but it will take a while. And the Lost Two Years and The Plundering Fleet had their own thread a while back. As for Docking Festival, it's a really pointless bit of comedy featuring Gepelnitch doing an ad for Protoculture Toilets or something. It's quite bad, to understate. You do get Kim, Vanessa and Shammy in it, though.

Yeah, I know that there are already several threads for the Con but I don't want this to get lost. Anyway, I made a documentary movie for Osaka University starring none other than the Samurai Monkey himself, Rob, about the otaku scene in Osaka. I thought it would be interesting if that was shown that at the con. However, it seems neither of us can make it so that leaves me with the option of having to mail a copy of the DVD to somebody over there who IS going. I doubt Graham is going and I don't know where Shawn has disappeared to in recent years. So, please, I ask for someone responsible to reply to me via PM or post here. Thanks Renato

Priceless.

Yeah, I never noticed that either. Huh. I think the Yamatos came first, though.... can't remember.

I haven't seen it personally but I heard that the box was like a jungle backdrop...

Hey there are more lineart pics of Masterpiece Starscream in Figure Oh and Dengeki Hobby magazines this month. Moveable airbrakes, engine detail, removable nosecone... It's pretty much turning out to be a 1/48! Very nice. Really looking forward to this. Not so sure about the way the arms store, though..

Check out the Daicon IV stuff in there. It's a good book but it was too much money for me to purchase.

A lot of the stuff in this thread is photoshopped. There are no "Funny Marts" in Japan, for example.

Highly doubt it: the last Yamato Mac toy commercial I ever saw was for the 1/60s. I don't think they ever even made any for the 1/48s.

Alreaady a thread on this. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...l=anime+maestro

Well, in Japan they've been doing the next best thing recently, and that's reissuing classic albums on CD but in the original large-size LP packaging. Plus you get all the bonus tracks of the deluxe CD releases. They've brought out quite a few out now including T.Rex's Electric Warrior, Derek and the Dominoes, Rolling Stones, even the Beastie Boys. I'm thinking of getting The Who's "Who's Next". I don't see it happening with DVDs though. Still, you never know.

I got it, it's great but to be honest it's just like a glorified Banpresto in that it seems the joints will get loose in no time and the vehicle mode looks nothing like it should. Add to that the hefty price tag and the really annoying transformation and you have to ask yourself if it is worth the cash. Here in the Kansai area -- from what I can tell -- they are selling like really cold cakes. Somebody wrote that the WST Hot-Rod comes only with the first 30 purchases at participating ToysRUs shops, but I got one a few days ago, like three weeks after release so that gives you an idea of the (lack of) demand. Could just be the area surrounding the store, though. I picked up a Millia 1/48 for Y7000 there once, so I reckon hardcore fans don't really go there. The Hot-Rod is cool, though.

This is an old song. And there's nothing funny about it. Just the usual Japanese weirdness.

Hey check this out, a friend sent me a link: http://www.threedy.com/site/forum/showthre...78&page=1&pp=15 Now, if the upcoming movie is in any way subpar to this, Michael Bay and Dom Figueroa or whatever the hell that guy's name is will have a lot of explaining to do.

, looks kinda funny seeing a robot in that pose . About the back pack thing, since I have 6 Vectors, I could probably build 3 Aquarions if I don't add the back pack . I'm sure the connector's are the same on both versions, so that should work, though I haven't seen anyone try it yet. 386682 Kawamori tries it in the new issue of Figure Oh. He made some huge kind of sword or something out of at least 6 vectors. Also he made some funny robots using the Luna and the Mars vectors which look like they're skiing. And for some reason he also encased some in ice. I swear that guy's a madman.

My only interaction with Mari is an email reply when I asked her if she's coming to the UK. 386553 And what did she say? -
When Queen, Van Halen, And Jpn Marionation Combine

Just awesome. I downloaded the MP3 but it doesn't do so much for me without the Holy Froating Head of Brian May. Too bad I never got to see this since I moved to the UK at the end of the 80s when suddenly robots weren't cool anymore. Yet ninja bloody turtles were. -
I really don't know what it is about the 1/48s, but they are addictive as hell. Almost as collectible as the 1/55s. You know you want it!!!

I saw this in a shop display yesterday and it really looks better in person than all the pics I've seen. The sheer volume of the main gun took me by surprise. I don't see myself putting down the cash just right now, though.

Macross was originally Megaroad, which was originally Genocidus or something. It was mainly all Kawamori's thing all along.

It's our good buddy Amuro Ray/Kasunga Kyosuke 382463 Bah. I was much more surprised to find that it was everyone's favourite gruff-voiced, Osaka dialect-spouting Wada Akiko who plays Koopa!!

I think this allegory or a similar one appears in one of the articles in the Gold Book.
