Here's a link showing one of the Kawamori bundle sets. http://pony-hp3.web.infoseek.co.jp/RAIDEN.htm And some special Kawamori Lego event at a mall a while back, check out the small pic: http://www.grandberrymall.com/catalog/express_pdf/0608_1.pdf

I'm going for the "Silverhawk". o/` "Partly metal, partly real....." o/`
-
That website also says that Tomcat is the name of the real-world fighter, the V-14, so... yeah.
-
Yeah, but he did officially do some stuff called Van-Force with the Exo-force kits that came out, and ToysRus in Japan sold them in special Kawamori packaging. I believe there were custom decals made for the Kawamori versions, too. http://www.flickr.com/photos/minami/80164968/in/photostream/ I think originally they were just concepts he did for Figure Oh magazine and then Lego became officially interested. Don't quote me on that, though.

Is Ippatsu gyakuten-hen the "weird" one shown with the movie? And I haven't seen it yet, but I though the movie was more like Macross Plus, and they mixed OVA, TV and a bit of new footage together. I believe the main movie is titled "Hymn of Triumph".
-
Damn, that's what I feared.

Here are some phone camera pics Alex sent me last night. Looks pretty good, but I'm wondering if those compartments only come with the Ray version and not the Stick?
-
Check the birth rate: they don't.

Thanks. Takes a Jenius to figure all this out, har har. Sorry.

I wish Oshii would just stick to writing his essays and stuff because I'm sure he has important things to say but I hate the way he (mis)uses the animation medium by hardly having any actual "animation" in them, in order to say them. One of his films is called "Talking Heads" -- well, they should ALL be called that, because he is the ruling king of overly long-winded motion-less dialogue scenes. As much as I enjoyed Patlabor 1, I'll never get back the time I spent watching his last movie, "Tachiguishi-Retsuden". Even the presence of Shoji Kawamori playing a curry expert (!) couldn't save me from indescribable boredom, the likes of which I wouldn't wish on Satan's dog. Heaven forbid I actually see this thing. By the time the movie ends I would probably end up looking like Oshii himself. To paraphrase Michael Moore: "Yawn to you, Mr. Oshii, yawn to you".

Thanks, Vermillion21. Let's hope this does not get any more complicated. Are there any images of the Beagle ones in this thread? I did go through it all a few days ago but I didn't find any and it just made me dizzy. And Beagle Mospeada just brings an image of Snoopy in ride armour to my mind.

So.... Beagle = Megahouse? What the hell is Beagle anyway?? I never heard of them before this thread.

If you mean this one: No, this is not from the 25th anniversary concert. This is one year earlier (2006) in Shibuya Club Quattro. In fact, this clip is one she has had up on youtube herself for a while but seems to have taken down recently. Edit: Hey what?? Since when can't you post links? Where did it go? -
The eyes are all wrong.

To quote myself on the previous page, Amazon has them listed as a March 2nd release.
-
Amazon Japan has the first two listed as out on March 2nd. No info on the Yellow. As much as I want that figure of Yellow, I hate Megahouse for pulling that whole "Limited Stickers" thing. Plus, I have a couple of their Palm Action toys and the QC is more hit-and-miss than with Yamato's stuff. Luckily no pre-orders are yet available for the Yellow, but I'm gonna have to think hard about this.... ...Ah, what the hell, it will be mine, who the hell am I kidding.
-
You can see the pic of "the box" here. It's not special at all. Limited Edition GBP+1J at Amazon JP

Just watched the second part of the OVA. Weirdo story aside, the action scenes were absolutely spectacular, and really makes me look forward to Macross Frontier. The lacklustre character animation kind of put a damper on the otherwise stunning visuals, but I've kind of learned to live with that in anime of recent years (saw some of that in MacF too).

What?? These are 3000 yen?! I thought they were supposed to be cheap like the Revoltechs. Screw that, then.
-
Yeah and to beat the bosses you had to press A and B according to the rhythm of the particular song being played, much like what you guys are describing here. I actually remember it coming out in 1999 or 2000 which was fairly late seeing the show had ended its broadcast in 1995. It was a Gameboy Color game.
-
Aw, that sucks. They should have cut the ten minutes of those useless celebrity presenter guys going "Yeah, I remember Macross... Der-der-der-DAH-DAH, Der-der-der DAAAH" etc. Good thing I watched the Kansai version. Nice work, Graham and IAD.
-
Wait... so Graham is involved in this as deep as the research and fact-checking level for Kawamori's TV shows? Hmm....
-
Hey there You mean you were on national TV and they didn't even bother telling you about it?? That pisses me off, cause I make amateur documentaries and I keep getting told that I need a licence to shoot this, an approval from so-and-so to film that, blah blah. Damn bureaucracy. Anyway, yeah, they showed the video of the black one, the one you uploaded early last year. haven't seen MkII... A friend of mine recorded the program onto a DVD... I'll see what I can do.
-
Hey, this thread hasn't been updated in a while... Perhaps this was mentioned in another thread, but IAD's radio controlled SV-51 was on TV in Japan, and Kawamori personally said he was really happy to see that someone actually made this. I myself was really surprised to see it. Congratulations!

It's just a reference to the screams of "dekalcha! (deculture!)" by the Zentradi in the original. It was a very famous phrase amongst fans and so it's sort of an in-joke now.
