Do you mean an executive mistake, or a factual mistake? Because it has been known for a while now that the binder would be sold separately.

As good as Solscud's photography skills are, the mis-transformation is on par with Hasbro publicity shots. Poor Koenig. Very nice painting skills, though. I'm one of the few people that think the Koenig is a very nice and unique toy so I would really like to see a new SMS incarnation of it, even if it's just a new stickered up version. Shame it STILL hasn't transformed into Battroid in the cartoon yet.

Right.. That's not exactly the most constructive thing I've ever read.

Macross Frontier Episode 15 Talkback Thread *READ 1st Post*

Yes, well... From her looks I'm guessing you wouldn't really be able to tell much... -
Sweeet. Let the countdown commence! Funny how on that site, where they're introducing the different series, Macross Zero is left ignored. Good thing they've got the SV-51 actually in the game, though.

"beetle queen" or "little queen"- words in episode
Renato replied to Misa's topic in Movies and TV Series
Misa: No offense or anything, but it doesn't look like you read the last couple of pages. And yes, elongated vowels make a world of difference in Japanese pronunciation. Creamy Horror: Yeah, I too suspected that the guy might not actually be Japanese. -
Anyone know if this SMS Skull Squadron pic is a parody of some other anime pic? Looks a little Cowboy Bebop, but I don't think that's it (That would have Sheryl as Faye or something).

"beetle queen" or "little queen"- words in episode

I think you got it the wrong way round, Repent is the one who was saying it IS Beetle, but then backed down when he heard that the subs said "Little". EDIT -- I just re-read it and yeah, you're actually saying exactly what I'm saying. Duh, this thing is messing with my brain. Yeah, but it's all moot, because the correct katakana rendition for "Beetle" would be ビートル, not ビトル. And whatever the consonants maybe that Grace uses, the first vowel is clearly not elongated, it is the same length as the other two syllables. And in Japanese pronounciation the key is in the vowels as you stated yourself earlier. -
With Arihiro Hase out of the picture, and most likely no Mikimoto magic, I don't think I would ever be entirely satisfied with a new anime about Hikaru and gang.

"beetle queen" or "little queen"- words in episode
Renato replied to Misa's topic in Movies and TV Series
Whoah, hold your horses. The verdict's not in just yet!! That one guy said that he checked his recording and it was definitely Beetle, but another said in resposnse that he watched it with the broadcasted subtitles and it was "Little" on both the OneSeg and terrestrial TBS broadcasts. I cannot believe this thing is even being discussed in the Japanese forum!! Man, this is really funny. There's even one guy on there who said that it must be Beetle because it fits with Ranka's last words at the end of the preview in the Deculture Edition foreshadow that she will indeed be the Vajra Queen and that is her way of saying goodbye: "Farewell, I loved you..!" 「さようなら。大好きでした。」 I'd totally forgotten about that line, and it certainly is there for a reason.... In any case, it sounds like "Little" however I hear it, though. 「リトル」。 "Beetle" would need an elongated "e" syllable. 「ビートル」。 And BTW, Beatles > Monkees. -
Any more on Rhino-monkeys and Gorilla-fish and we'll have an episode of the Wuzzles. Anyway, this is interesting, because I've never heard of this "Avatar" show before, and if I did it certainly didn't register. I did a bit of research and watched a couple of clips on youtube and was quite impressed with the level of design, plus according to Wikipedia the staff are really into anime, though that much was obvious. Then I went onto the official UK Nickelodeon site where the character illustrations all look really cheap and bright and totally clashing with the duller, more sombre palette of the show's actual visuals. Interesting... Those two images on their own make Frontier look like the kiddy show by comparison. What an age we live in.

I know it's off-topic, but... hey, this thread is one big off-topic mecca. Yeah, Shadow Chronicles. That's great for a laugh. The best line is when the Regess puts up the Alfalfa fighters on the screen and says something like, "as you can see, their vehicles are invisible to us!" And that pink-hair girl is like "Er, OK."

I got all the 1/144 M7 kits way back in the day, and I always wanted the TECT custom upgrade parts. This is just all kinds of awesome. Did you get any of the other upgrade kits? Like the Sound Boosters? I'd love to see those too.

In Japan, most of the old school Disney films have been released on DVD by some random company for dirt cheap because apparently according to Japanese law, they are public domain now. From what I hear, the credits have been taken out, and the video quality is really horrible though. Disney is apparently trying to stop them, but they're still on sale everywhere. They still have a disclaimer at the back of the DVD case warning not to make "illegal copies", which is weird. As for the Kamen Rider show, it seems better than the cheesy Power Rangers, and kids loved that anyway.

I agree with most of ComiKaze and Danth's opinions, and I'm sure Area88 feels the same way or he wouldn't be putting this much effort into trying to dig up all this stuff. It ties in with what I wanted to ask a while back, Danth, what is your avatar from? It looks like a Yoshikazu Yasuhiko design, who is one of the greatest manga artists, illustrator, animator, etc. He doesn't do anime anymore, he only draws Gundam: The Origin these days. He, like similar 80s hero Haruhiko Mikimoto, developed his style into a more "pointy" look (particularly the nose) during the 90s. These days I can't really see that much of the original charm in the drawing style of Mikimoto. I think less care is taken these days in the drawing of certain lines and curves.

I voted for the Hikaru VF-1S Strike, but it could also have been the Hikaru VF-1J GBP or the LowViz 1. I like the 19 and the other guys but the VF-1 is iconic, and just has a certain charm. I only ever planned to buy one 1/48 and it was the low-viz. You CAN'T just have one though!

Yeah, I can actually see me, Rob and Sketchley sitting around like beggars doing that. "Geeve us your Macross!! Wee neeed your Macross! Will work for Macross!" -
No, it doesn't work that way; they're still making it.

I was gonna make a thread asking which of our Kansai-based members were thinking of going, but when I checked the website (at around 12 midday on the 5th -- the first day of ticket sales) they were already sold out!! In the first few hours! Hot DAMN. They better add some extra shows, I'm pissed off that Kansai always gets the short end of the stick in terms of event stuff. Cool that we get to see the actual TV show before the Kanto guys though... even though they can always just download it anyway. -
So weird, seeing Bodolza's face with a couple of cute hearts next to it.

This is true, I wouldn't put it past Kawamori to skim over the whole thing in the first thirty seconds just so he could have more "phhwoar, high school cleavage, baby, yeah!!" shots for the remainder of the show. Seriously, that Macross Zero episode 4 ending demanded a MUCH more thought out follow-up than what we got in ep 5, it damn near ruined an already flawed series and I really hope he's not planning to pull that crap again. Most of it wasn't even actually animated, they were just pan shots!

Pink, spiked dildos aren't my thing, so I skipped the Nora, and the CF just looks like a naked pope. Ivanov it was. Would've been nice to see some blue-grey non-canon schemes. I had the reissue, so yes, they are out. Aside from the aforementioned problems I encountered, also the hardpoints were REALLY tight. And I mean, I really struggled to attach the missile, and when I managed to get it in, a stress mark appeared around the hardpoint. In fact, I didn't even finish attaching them when the whole thing fell apart, so I never took most of the missiles or stand out the box. I'll get my replacement soon so I will report any issues with the next one.
