  1. I think it's only open for female singers. And even if it wasn't, Okamura already has a recording contract, he would be disqualified.
  2. Regarding MP-10... I got the Hasbro Asia release one a few months ago, and it is fine. No loose joints, just a tiny minor scratch on the silver paint on the rib, but everything else is perfect. But, however, I was impressed with this mold so much that I am actually interested enough in comparing the Takaratomy one, so I just pre-ordered one... I have two Fire Valks, one Yamato and one Arcadia, for the same reason, I just really love that mold. I didn't use to be like this!
  3. Well, he came over to study in Japan for a while but he said he was no longer interested in Macross and was busy etc.
  4. Yeah, I remember the Game and Watch Popeye most of all. I didn't know that about Megaman, though! Wow, it's sort of cool that we ended up with what we did, though, because this allowed original IPs like Mario and Megaman to blossom into classic franchises on their own, while avoiding the licensing headaches that would have occurred otherwise.
  5. I highly doubt it.
  6. I believe that is actually pretty much how Donkey Kong came into existence. The game was supposed to be Popeye climbing the girders while avoiding Bluto and reaching Olive, but Nintendo couldn't secure the Popeye licence somehow and so Gumpei Yokoi changed the sprites and brought the game out anyway.
  7. "Find your fate... Junior" sounds incredibly menacing.
  8. No it was a Hollywood production intended for a global audience.
  9. Hey Kidkorrupt, I have to say that your website was extremely educational to me back in the day because it neatly provided so much information on the background of all the real-world rally cars that the G1 Transformers were based on. A decade on, thank you, dude!
  10. As I keep trying to tell people, in Japan, you cannot just "walk into a brick and mortar store and buy it". People who can are in the inner sanctum of fandom, they know what time to be at which store. Even then, the flagship Kotobukiya store in the centre of Akihabara only got THREE (3!) Ozma 29's, and they had to put up a sign to that effect at the entrance of the store. This is not intended as a criticism, it is a statement of fact as I have witnessed it in the past few years with Bandai product. If Bandai valks do end up on store shelves, then they are either overpriced, often at twice the original value, or it's an Alto 25, because there are now enough reissues to go around for everyone. Bandai is simply not making enough of these to meet demand domestically, so yes, consider yourself blessed if you can jump the extra hurdle as an international consumer. But I live in Tokyo and I've given up on ever seeing any of these. Good thing I'm no longer interested in Bandais anymore because of their loose joints and floppiness. I like the 19 design and I am interested in seeing a new take on it, but at this point I am only seeing an inferior product to my Arcadia YF19, which it will probably match the price of by the time I'm ever able to get hold of the Bandai. So just screw it. :/
  11. Don't forget the terrible Zentradi preliminary design!
  12. Well, I guess I'm getting this now! None of the previous promotional images or blurbs sold me on Magnus, but that video totally did. It looks really cool, and Amazon had an Amazin price.
  13. The first run of these will include an 8-page (yes, EIGHT! wow) booklet with Miyatake giving some insight on the design, as an incentive. It sounds intriguing, but yeah, this still seems overpriced to me, and it looks a lot like an upscaled PalmAction.
  14. 100% agreed. This is sort of similar to that Basara guitar. I remember you saying after playing it just for a short while that had you known what it felt like beforehand, you would have gotten one. Guitars and jackets are so specific with their little variations that it is ridiculous to limit them to web-only pre-orders.
  15. What?? Argh, I didn't hear anything about this event!! And now it's over... Of interest -- That description panel says that the height will be around the same as the old Takatoku toy.
  16. The jacket is really nice. It's not cheap, but it's genuine lambskin leather, and made to a certain standard. That said, I think it's a major problem that they are selling this online and not accepting returns. How can you buy an article of clothing without first trying it on? Especially one with as steep a price tag as this one? I know they have the measurements on the webpage, but seriously, you have to wear it to find the right size for you, the numbers don't really mean that much when it comes to comfort, in particular with leather.
  17. What?? I had no idea there was a Japanese Reprolabels site! Just a couple of days before, I just ordered a set of MP Wheeljack rally car markings for 1 cent, and have to pay for shipping from wherever.... when I could have gotten it straight from here and paid everything for under a dollar!! EDIT -- I know it's not a big deal at all, it's just the timing as usual is perfect

Here's Kawamori making further revisions to the CAD files just last week. There is no way these are anywhere near ready yet.
  19. actually... it's not so small... 😃
  20. JB0, I share your frustration. Living in Japan, I was shocked at first to find that most smallish CRTs still only had mono audio output, and that PAL conversion was unheard of, whereas all of my TVs, VHS and DVD players while living in the UK in the 90s handled both PAL and NTSC with no issues whatsoever. I was incredulous to find that nobody working at home appliance stores had even heard of PAL. I ended up taking a UK copy of Led Zeppelin's live DVD to my local electronics store and trying to make it play in every single DVD player on display (UK and Japan are both R2). No luck. I then got a region-free cheap Chinese player and have not had to worry about that for several years, until earlier this year when it died and now half my stuff is unplayable. I have a PS3 and a Victor HDTV, which means they've most likely put restrictions on what they can play or not. I have had no issues with US BDs so far with the PS3, but I think the only ones I own are the Transformer Prime series (it never came out on BD here, and the Japanese edition of the show is a butchered hackjob anyhow). See, I'm on topic! Anyway, argh. Let's just pester whoever is responsible to release an official US BD already. What's the delay? I can't understand it.
  21. Yes, the band is called "Lion", I only know one other song they did which was on "The Wraith" OST (super 80s movie starring Charlie Sheen). It also featured Stan Bush, incidentally. JB0: Well, I read that NTSC/PAL becomes an issue when it comes to non-HD content on BDs. In the case of the TFTM BD, I think it comes with the extras from the previous Sony release, as in the Scrambled City feature etc. Those may still be in SD and so will have compatibility problems, as far as I understand it. In other news, looks like MP Bumblebee is on its way to me, I should have it soon.
  22. Actually, it was done in M7, too, because there were one or two episodes where the enemies couldn't hear Basara, but it isn't the sound, it's the PASSION (i.e. Spiritia) that is effective, so eventually it still affected the Protodeviln. Months on, and this thread still has me responding with "SEVEN DID IT."
