But the very first vajra they kill in the show was stabbed with the valk knife, so that argument doesn't work.
-
Right... Except for that normal working weekday when I phoned several times and finally, someone who I guess was the cleaner or something, answered with "Wot? Nah, can't help ya, I think they're closed today, bye." Yeah, he would have been cockney if he spoke English. ....All in all, yeah, I agree, they DO have good customer service. But then, they need to. EDIT -- disclaimer

Cool, I've been wanting to pick up the 1/100 fire valk again for a while, now, but it suddenly became rare when MacF began airing. Wish they still had the chrome version around, though. -
I never understood the logic of this. So, if you place a bomb under my bed and I survive the explosion, your next attempt to kill me would assume that I might be vulnerable to a bullet? And Plan C would involve a punch in the face? Er, shouldn't it be the other way round? I only saw that episode once, but I really didn't get why you can stab a vajra but not shoot them or blow them up.

Thanks. Actually I just got off the phone with Yamato, and yeah, they said it should come with two. So I told them I didn't get my "regular versions" and they're going to send me some. You know what. Every one of the last three Yamato toys I have bought have had some kind of issue, this, the SV-51 which I had to send back because of its exploding legs (see the respective thread) and the silver Garland's Shogo figure, which has two right shoulders. I should really put them on speed dial. I do find it odd that every time I phone them someone different answers, though. Then again, with all the problems surrounding their products, I gather they need a large staff to man every station. Sigh. A- "Could do better". Toy itself is awesome, though.

Got my OD Tomahawk yesterday (yeah, I couldn't wait, so kill me). Quick question: Is it supposed to come with two sets of stickers, or just one? I only got the special OD sheet with all the white stickers on it, but the main ones like the triangles for the missile hatches and UN Spacy markings weren't on it, so it seemed to me that they would include the standard sheet too, but it wasn't in there.

Not to worry: I read a while back that the CMs series 1 would be reissued this year. Anyone got any more info on this?
-
Yeah, I think this is closer to what he's trying to say.

Ah, man! I misread the same single letter. OK... so he DOES want to settle it. I take the sentence to mean that there is a question of admirability if Alto remains stoic and does not choose either, like in the show. Anyway, that's a real bi*** of a sentence because actually it doesn't say anything concrete. Basically, Kawamori would probably like a resolution but choosing one would put Alto in a tough light.... I guess half of the MacF fans would hate him no matter whom he chooses. Hell, I don't care, I hate him anyways. I'm just looking forward to more Valk on Vaj action. EDIT - Clarity

Model. The DX ones will be out in March (Alto limited stand-alones, and Michel and Luca bundle packs). -
Love that one. At least he got the "kyuuu-don" part right.

This is the text in question: 2009年中 「ROBOT魂 VF-25F」価格未定 「DX超合金 マクロスF(フロンティア) VF-25F メサイア アルト機 スーパーパック装備」価格未定 2009 [it is not mid-2009, 年中 means "within the year", so it could well be late in the year] "Robot Tamashii VF-25F": Price TBA [isn't this one of those PVC poseable robot lines? This'll probably be a non-tf toy. "DX-Chogokin Macross F VF25F Messiah Alto-type Super Pack Equipped": Price: TBA [sounds like a bundle set to me...] I am not sure as to the credibility of this, either, but a lot of people going through the hoop-jumping to obtain the standalone FPs will be pissed if it's true. -
You mean this?: 眉毛は三角関係に決着は着けたいけど、はたしてアルトに甲斐性があるかって問題ですから…とな The conclusion of the love triangle will be included in the movie, hoping that Alto will have more resources. How did they come up with that? That is an awful translation. The real translation is totally the opposite, something more like this: "Eyebrow" [sK] doesn't settle the love-triangle, but that's probably because Alto is kind of a dependable/admirable guy... So... I'm not holding my breath. EDIT -- Coloured things up for clarity

Aw, I thought it would be something that required CFW. I ended up getting a PSP slim with a G barcode, which means it has the newer, as-yet unhackable motherboard so I'm screwed for the time being. I was really looking forward to playing SNES games on it, too. Anyway, right now I'm on the SDF Mac mission called "First Contact: The Power of Kiss" or something like that. It's one of those two-part ones, where you have to blow up a couple of Zent battleships, then go inside and kill some Zent soldiers. The thing is, Britai keeps killing me. As soon as he grabs hold, he will keep pumelling until I'm crushed, no matter how much energy he or I have left. I even tried the "Minmay Attack" pilot skill, that special move which transmits the DYRL song so that the Zents stop fighting, but still nothing. I blame those narrow corridors, 'cos I can beat him in the missions where you're out in the open.

It's just a figure of Jonathan, it doesn't come with the actual bike. And the sunglasses don't look like stickers if you look at the close-up shots. Rather, the the glasses stickers you are probably thinking of were on the limited edition stickers that came with some boxes of the first batch of Megahouse Ride Armors. EDIT -- Somehow, I think I'm a little late in my reply.

Wha? Explanation, please!!

Modellers and Customizers: Check this out. http://bandai-hobby.net/macross/pc.html It's a competition where you have to enter photographs of your own original customized valk (has to be a Bandai MacF one) and the top prize is that you get to meet Megumi Nakajima, give it to her (the valk, you gutter-dwellers), and in exchange she will give you her own original valk. Kinda sucks that you gotta give up what you worked so hard for, though. There's no guarantee that what you'll be getting is of comparable quality, so I guess it really depends on how much of a Ranka fan you are.

What, so basically, you cannot have Misa as the operator and play normally?
-
That is actually what the magazine is saying, that there will be a movie, an event, and an "OAD". It does not say anything at all about the theatrical release being cancelled. Odd that the very same image used to confirm the movie a month ago would be used again on these boards to spread rumours that it's been cancelled. EDIT -- Happy new year!!

Just got the game yesterday, so I'm still crap at actually playing. As far as the screen grabs go, though, you can take screen shots when you use the replay function. Every time you finish a mission, you have the option to record it as a "Replay". Then when you watch the replay, you have various options such as changing camera angles, zooming in and out, and watching the different fighters' actions. One of the buttons (I think it's the circle) lets you take screenshots which you can later save on the memory stick, but you can only take 4 per replay. "Here's one I made earlier": (It's of me killing Basara) EDIT -- Be warned: If you put the PSP into sleep mode while playing a mission, you cannot save the replay afterwards.

Emilia... Jenkins?? -
One of these days I'm going to post a photo of the Angel Birds valk on display in the Osaka branch of Yodobashi Camera. That thing has transformed into a cannon fodder due to years directly under a fluorescent tube.
-
Wow, how did you get the director in this? The day you get Mamoru Oshii as a guest will be the greatest day ever. Anyway, I remember seeing this movie a few years ago, it was really trippy (and I saw it in French with Japanese subtitles, adding to the bizarro-meter), but it was on very early in the morning and I had to go to bed before the end. I always intended to see the ending.

I have a Miria/Millia 1/48, but never got a Max. I seriously to this day detest the shade of blue that Yamato (and supposedly Kawamori) picked out for it. I much prefer the 1/55 editions in terms of colour. And I have both M&M 1/55s but the great sin is that I have never displayed them together, as they are apart in different countries. Alas, perhaps someday, the twain shall meet... EDIT for spelling again (boy I'm on a roll today)
