Big stretch on that transformation sequence. However... Blizzcon a couple of years ago: "Because 'Top Gun' wasn't the only thing that made us want to grow up to be fighter pilots." They used a picture of Hikaru/Rick in his VF-1 as a backdrop to that statement. I'm sure that they do acknowledge Macross/Robotech as an influence while growing up.

Dammit. I know some spanish, but it's a daunting task to try to read it so I can get the general gist of what's going on in your story. On a related note, I'm going to try to update this week before the semester starts. It's been over a damn year now

Flashback 2012 Megaroad 01 Poster Recreation

We had this problem a while back when I had asked to get some screencaps from Sayonara no Tsubasa as desktop wallpapers. Even though they weren't the right size, I still use 'em. Thanks, Zinjo!- 26 replies

I was literally upset when I watched OVA 3. You're right that a lot of the story was non-sensical and it got even worse as the series came to an end. Masaki Kajishima even promised to resolve the love triangle and he LIED! I think I can sit through OVA's 1 and 2, Tenchi Universe, and the Tenchi Muyo in Love movie. The manga authored by Hitoshi Okuda was also pretty good. Still, that show will always be an important part of my past. Back on topic, now...

Mmm... Ayeka... Good times.

That's an interesting concept about the virus thing. I hadn't thought of it that way. However, I've asked about that thing next to Brera at the end of the Frontier series and nobody here had any explanation as to what it really is. The fact that they put it in a quick scene at the end doesn't really tell you that it's something all that important. I could be wrong, though...

Che! Are you going to be doing some more work on this soon? I'm guessing you've found some free time out of your ultra-busy schedule, huh?

I'm sure it's a couple of things: First, I think she was attracted to him because she didn't seem to have an "effect" on him. He was a challenge to her and there was a bit of a thrill of the hunt going on, there. Second, I agree that she probably did like him because he didn't act all weird around her just because she's this ultra-attractive megastar with a deep pocketbook. Just like she told him in Episode 5, "You don't treat me like 'Sheryl'." I think she appreciated that she can be at ease with him, since he was anything but some fanboy-toy she probably would use during her trips to various venues across the galaxy. I'd have to say a little bit of column A, a little bit of column B. They were definitely attracted to her singing. Even Brera told her not to tell anyone that it was her singing that brought the Vajra to their fleet.

All Things Videogame Related: EXTREME VS!!

Just coming back to give you guys a head's up that Planetside 2 is releasing on November 20th. It's going to be free-to-play, but you can use SOE's Station Cash to buy new weapons and sidegrades and the such. Planetside 2 is the follow-up to one of the best MMOFPS games ever. Featuring three distinct factions constantly at war with each other over territory, there is always a fight going on somewhere. Battles can include hundreds of players fighting over a base or strategic resource node. Vehicle combat is a major portion of the game, including tanks, troop carriers, ATV's, light assault aircraft, bomber/gunships, and troop dropships. Outside of the vehicles, frantic first-person shooter action takes place inside and outside of bases. Certification points are earned through experience points and are the alternative to buying Station Cash for upgrades and sidegrades. Each troop class (Heavy assault, light assault, medic, engineer, infiltrator, and MAX unit (powered exosuit)) has a plethora of customization options that can be purchased with certification points. Want to add a reflex sight to your assault rifle? Want to increase your shield recharge rate and delay? Want to add grenade carrying capacity? Vehicle upgrades are purchased the same way, such as adding armor piercing shells for anti-vehicle specialization, or high-explosive shells for infantry ownage. You can equip your tanks with side, top, front, back, or mineguard armor. There are soooo many other upgrades that can be considered that all have their specialization and usage. I'm a Planetside 1 veteran and I've been playing Planetside 2 in its beta stages for the last couple of months. The game is thoroughly enjoyable, especially when you are in a squad, since the game is very much team-oriented. Outfits are like guilds in MMORPG's, and instead of raiding, they perform ops missions. Nothing like rolling out with 25+ of your outfit mates to assault the nearby tech plant. Check it out!- 6831 replies

I'm just asking, in case you need one of us to help you get those files. I have a lot of the episodes and movies saved on my computer, as do many others, I'm sure.

Yep. That one went right over my head, then. I had to look it up on the internet.

Are you going to need to replace the lost files?

Are you being sarcastic? Am I mistaken on his name? I don't think it was a translation error in the subtitles... Episode 18 right when they're about to fold the fleet to get away from the Vajra.

The computer and electronics super geek thread
frothymug replied to azrael's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Dropping in this thread to see if you guys can offer some good advice for me. I built my computer over three years ago with top-of-the-line components and it is now starting to show its age. I am considering an upgrade and I want to know what you guys think I should do: I have been playing Borderlands 2 and the Planetside 2 beta and I've been getting frustrated with the performance of my computer in heavy combat situations. In most low-action parts, the games run just fine at 30-40 FPS. However, when the sh** hits the fan, the frames drop to 10-15 and it's darn near impossible to perform well in combat in these cases. In Planetside 2, it typically either gets me killed or allows my target to get away because my accuracy drops. I have difficulty tracking movement since the frames are so choppy, so I usually lose track of where my target is, or I have to lower my sights to see the whole picture before raising up my gun again. The same issue pertains to Borderlands 2. I been playing with my girlfriend, but I end up getting frustrated with the game far earlier than expected. I recently dropped ALL of the in-game settings to medium and lower and the frames are now more manageable. This tells me that my computer needs a shot of performance increases. My specs are as follows: Intel i7 920 @ 2.66 GHz CPU Asus P6T Deluxe V2 mobo 6 GB Corsair DDR3 RAM @ 1333 MHz (if I remember that clockspeed correctly) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 GPU HT|Omega Striker 7.1 soundcard All other specs are irrelevant, unless I'm horribly mistaken. Even the soundcard makes little difference, IMO. Anyway, I am on a very tight budget and I have been considering buying a second GTX 295 off of eBay for 100-200 dollars. I have the expansion slot for it and I have a kilowatt power supply to support the power usage. Other friends have suggested I spend 300 or so to get a more modern video card, but I don't think I can justify that expense to myself and (more importantly) my girlfriend. I've also considered throwing 3 or 6 more gigs of RAM into it, since I have three unused RAM slots. What do you guys think? -
The bio-neural chip was the source of simulated psychosis, for lack of a better term. It was Sharon's intent to give Isamu the ultimate feeling of ecstasy by pushing him to the brink of his death, which is, she claims, is what pilots seek to achieve. This is probably a gross perversion of Myung's feelings for Isamu caused by the chip. So, it's a combination of both.
