Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Archer replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Sure, some added gimmicks such as the cockpit hatch on the -19 maybe superfluous, but I really think those are the things that set these toys apart as collector items compared to...oh say a transformer or something (not the best comparison lol). The simple fact that they CAN achieve some crazy stuff like that really appeals to me in that I am getting what I pay for, and that in itself can convince me to purchase something, even if I don't even plan on extensively using it. And yes, they are great for dioramas as well! -
I think the -F model is supposed to be an "attacker"/junior officer grade model (which is weird, cuz a newbie kid gets it). I think, compared to the other models, it has improved close quarters functioning, as well as thruster output (though I easily could be wrong).

Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Archer replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Exactly. I'm not looking for extra parts or stand additions, but rather, really minute details and features put into the valkyrie itself, much like the battroid hatch for the VF-19, which, I think many of you would agree, is ingeniously designed. I like the VF, but I wouldn't buy it if all it was was just a solid plane with no actual "refinement" as Uxi mentioned. The thing costs just off $300, I hope I'm not asking for too much lol -

^The image isn't working (unless the translation you provided literally means that there is no pic atm lol). I have been anticipating pictures of gimmicks, as that is really what will sell me on this toy. -
I know but.....I CAN'T wait! AHHH! lol, truth be told, my birthday's coming up, and I'd like confirmation of a v.3 YF-19 or something just as good so that I can save up some money or get family member to save birthday money for a future purchase.

Sorry I can't be of much more help to you, but I wouldn't expect much back from over drive. I believe that they have really moved away from managing their web services and what not, and rarely respond anymore. Beyond that, a lot of members here on the forums recieved extra arms for their broken VF-1's a while back, so you could ask around and see if anyone was willing to sell them to you or what not.

I'm fairly new (noob!) to toy customization, but I was considering picking up one of those new plain white 1/60 VF-1 w/ extra parts model kits that Yamato is putting out (anyone know when those are supposed to be released?). For those that got the first edition release of this kit VF-1s, can anyone tell me how durable and how solid they feel in comparison to a standard Yamato VF-1? Are they just as nice, clicky, and solid, or more akin to a regular model kit? Lastly, how well does paint stick to the plastic? I know some toys are just terrible with paint adhesion, but I would think that due to its model kit nature, this release would be better. Thanks guys!

Thanks for the anime-export link! Unfortunately, with the money I have to spend atm for a yf-29, super parts is just way too expensive. As for the Ozma, I'd gladly accept a DX release! I love the new head and paintscheme! -

Is there anyplace still available that offers the armor parts for sale (the web exclusive ones?) -Thanks -
^^Doesn't he say that his stuff has TONS of primer and multiple layers on top of the paint to protect it during transformation? But yeah, I can see where you're coming from. A single scratch, and with those prices, I might have heart failure...

The only SEED gundam in MG form that I would even consider getting would be either the Aegis or the Blitz. Besides those two.....meh

I kept my research going, and was wondering from experts if HLJ still offers replacement arms for the VF-0 as they have in the past? If so, I might go ahead and buy the Shin

So, a surprise mystery SEED MG model is supposedly going to be revealed in the near future at some upcoming hobby show (forgot its name lol) to commemorate the 10th anniversary of SEED. As if we needed more MG's from said era

I wish I could get a fig like that. But even @ commission prices, it will probably be $3000+, and that is $3000 that even I am not foolhardy enough to spend on a single item, a toy at that.... Macross toys at $250 is pushing it, but this would be overkill Epic *sigh*

IIRC, there is actually a thruster on the back plate on the ventral side, which acts as a thruster for forward momentum in GERWALK mode. Actually, if one takes a look at the VF-25 in the anime, you can see some vector thrust coming out of the back plate where this thruster should be. So I guess its like the Vf-1, just not a separate piece

Darn it Homura, you tease with those pics! Gosh, it only goes to show how desparetely we actually need a v.3 YF-19 from Yamato. Yamato should know it will sell, lets go!

Haha, I actually think it would be quite comical if it got made....though I'd buy it -
I decided to wait it out for a decent priced -0S. Might as well get a solid toy at least if I'm gonna drop that much money on one. I kind of got scared while continuing my google searches and seeing sheared arms. Someday, on MWF, there will probably be someone selling one at a decent rate that I can buy. Until then, no -0S for me Now, while waiting, on to finding a YF - 21 original release

I'd love to just fix on if an issue arises too, but alas, I'm probably as good at fixing toys as I am cooking, and I can't cook for my life (ok, that was a bad analogy). Anywho, I'd probably end up breaking the toy further in my attempts to fix it. I did a little more research, and I *might* just go ahead and buy one, as fighter mode easily looks like the mode for display anyways Awesome shot btw Eugimon! EDIT: Eugimon, are those the actual color hues of the -0A, or have then been adjusted in anyway. They look a lot darker than in some other pics I've seen, and I like!

Thanks for the replies guys. Just wondering, but where are you guy's getting re-released 0A's (unknown solider types) for that cheapt ($170?). I can't seem to find anyone re-release 0A for that cheap, but I would jump on it if I could fin one (considered the ghost booster is only a nother $30, seems like a better deal to me). But yeah, this seems like a difficult gamble to play.
