  1. Wow, Yamato should change names more often. Scored themselves a fortune with this one
  2. Gah, I'm tempted to pre-order, but i'm a n00b modeler. This tempted me with its bold claims of assembly without tools, but if they screw up, i'd rather not end up with a 200 dollar box of parts
  3. The Gundam Origin was actually the first GFFMC that I ever purchased, and you're right, it was a very phenomenal figure. Sadly, I had to let it go a few months back The origin was a lot smaller than this Unicorn though, but I guess that's due to the actual mobile suit differences than anything else
  4. Finally got it!! First of all, the GFFMC unicorn is a ROCK SOLID piece, save for a few armor parts that flail around. At the same time, it was SOOO tight that I abstained from transforming it for the time being. I think I'll transform it once I have more patience after my tests are completed. Beyond that, you guys were right that it's fairly unposable, and can generally only achieve static standing poses (albeit, the joints were so tight that I didn't really experiment too much). My piece also had a bit of yellowing on the right calf piece. Beyond that though, it looks AMAZING. I'm happy I bought it for the display value alone!
  5. Gah, the GFFMC unicorn I've bought has been sitting in customs for a good 3 days. Why is it taking so long, I'm so anxious to finally be able to handle of these holy grail unicorn figures. Day 7 since shipment day with EMS, and counting >
  6. I mean, I guess it does have LEDs to somewhat justify the price, but they haven't been very clear as to if the LEDs are built in, or if we have to do that ourselves, and only the batteries are built in. Regardless, I'm going with the assumption that LEDs are optional and you'll have to do the wiring yourself if you want. I know what you guys mean though, not wanting to be a guinea pig for a first run product claiming to par Bandai in terms of injection molding.

    Vf-0 vs SV-51

I agree with you there man! Hope this Yamato Arcadia fiasco sorts itself out soon...
  8. I know I said this before, but please don't let this end here. Why would they forego macross? I actually thought they were gaining in sales in recent years with the better stuff they were putting out, not the other way around. Let's hope it doesn't end here
  9. Haha, I JUST noticed that! Btw, would you happen to know if the Persona anime is on par with the quality of the game? Sorry if this is a little OT!
  10. I thought Yamato toys were selling fairly well...it would be sad to see them go at a pinnacle of their engineering genius.
  11. Wow, I didn't think it'd be this bad. PLEASE O PLEASE do not let Bandai be the last source of transformable goodness. All of us with lives and the inability to check the internet 25/7 will be doomed to an eternity of paying scalper prices on ebay or bloated prices of NY.
  12. Just started Person 4 Golden. I have never played a Persona game in the past, but a friend recommended it, saying it was the best game on Vita. Fun so far, hope it only gets better!
  13. I think they do separate in one seen when Marida is about to enter Industrial 7 in episode 1. I agree though, this does look pretty cool! Sorry man, I didn't mean to link to a site filled with viruses, it just popped up first in my google search! I'd suggest individuals to click that link at their own risk. It doesn't pop anything up for me (I'm on Norton), but it may affect others, so careful!
  14. Yeah, I was actually with you and fairly skeptical about this and the whole "build w/o any tools semi-assembled" thing, but then I saw this: http://www.gundamkitscollection.com/2012/11/elyn-hobby-products-1100-kshatriya.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+gundamkitscollection%2FJfVa+%28Gundam+Model+Kits+Collection+Blog%29#.URfQBKV8vww Seems fairly legit actually, and I myself am surprised. Batteries/LED are built in, the frame is pre-assembled, and everything is plastic injection molded, not gunky resin. All parts don't even have sprues. It literally seems like all you have to do is tack on the armor pieces to the frame, and booya, 1/100 kshatriya. I'm sure this is a very idealistic view, and i'm sure you'll have to do a little sanding and what-not to get things to fit, but it is supposed to be snap-fit. The last thing I'll say is they are re-pouring the plastic as they don't like the lighter colors. If this works out, I might just go ahead and pre-order one....I need me some kshatriya at this scale, and the LEDs built in only helps
  15. I'm pretty sure the name change won't affect their toy production. Why would they just up and leave a market they've been so successful in? I'm more upset that they didn't really show anything in the way of new toys for this year
  16. So, anybody buy or have thoughts on the Elyn Hobby 1/100 Kshatriya? It's supposed to be injection molded, and semi-assembled in nature, and you're supposed to be able to snap it together without any tools, and it's injected in color, so paint isn't necessary as well. Is this too good to be true? At $172, it's not SUPER expensive as well. I might just order one for the heck of it. They're saying even non-modelers can put one together... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ptu90wsTf24
  17. We need a metal build or GFFMC shining gundam O_O
  18. I don't understand how the YF-29 got 2nd......it just doesn't make sense Also, I'm not surprised that the VF-1S got 1st, it deserves as much Lastly, I thought that the VF-4 would beat the VF-2SS, not the other way around, lol
  19. I'm not much a builder myself, but I'd ask the guys over in the Plamodel thread (this is the action figure thread ). Anyhow, I would get into master grades if that is what you want. THey tend to be fairly cheap (well, cheap for those who are used to forking over 200+ on each toy like most macross collectors), and are easy to build as well. They look pretty good too, and the new ones are almost as complicated as some of the old perfect grades But if you want something ready for play, get into the robot damashii, gundam fix figuration, or metal build lines. Those are action figures, and come built out of the box, and many feature diecast as well. Good stuff!
  20. I'm pretty sure I ended up watching ZZ before watching either Zeta or the Original Gundam, so it has a special place in my heart I agree that it can be silly at times, but it's nice and a bit of a breather for a Gundam series that doesn't take itself wayyyy too seriously, but can still maintain a fairly coherent and somewhat involved storyline. And the ZZ gundam is pretty cool regardless
  21. i really hope they go back to UC fix figuration metal composite. The line was so good...
  22. I'm not gonna let this thread die! I purchased a GFFMC unicorn, something I've been wanting for quite a while now, the other day, and will hopefully be posting a short review if it shows up on time. I'm quite excited to get it, it'll be my first Unicorn in any shape or form. Also, any new announcements regarding the Fix Figuration line? I hope Bandai doesn't let this line die...
  23. I know, and I've played it, and it was 'alright' I guess. Just wondering how the rest of the game plays, and if it is worth it. Dead space attracted me with it's scare tactics, and forced me to a crawl, taking check of everything before moving on. In the demo, I just kind of blazed my way through.
  24. Hearing all the negative reviews about Dead Space 3 is keeping me away. Anybody play it yet, or have thoughts about it?
  25. WOW! This brings back so many memories, I might just shed manly tears. I grew up on DBZ (thanks to toonami), and it was one of the first anime's that me and most of my generation got into. Looking back, DBZ was pretty....jouvenile in terms of plot, but I'll be watching this, if anything, for pure nostalgia alone
