  1. amazing as usual Xigfrid!
  2. yes, there's the for sale & trade section
  3. that's what? 1 release a month over 45 years?
  4. We'll miss you, Vir
  5. My Spreadsheet the only way I know precisely what "mount holy-@!#%$-that's-a-lot-of-kits" actually consists of... [speaking of which, I actually started two kits today... I'll have to note that.] along with what my future collection will[may] one day contain. This also allows me to see the money value my dreams represent in no uncertain terms... which assists me in resisting my "GOTTA HAS IT!" impulses...
  6. One man's nightmare being another's Goldmine...
  7. it may be simply a new "better" blend of plastic. changes may have been made due to environmental regs, or any number of reasons. it very well could be that this is just a cheaper blend with the same or close enough properties Yamato's plastic.
  8. Very Nice.
  9. that is a big issue for me slogging through this series... as far as "war is hell" not being the message: you can make a series where the characters deal with an ongoing war in an adult manner [instead of ignoring it], and said war is presented as costly and destructive. thereby re-enforcing said message without becoming Gundam Thunderbolt [as entertaining as I found the series, you're 100% correct about violence > story]. as for the PMC vs Military: is this a purposeful move so as not to court any controversy in Japan? how are PMC's viewed there? how's the military looked at there these days? I haven't seen or read anything that would make me think the Military is seen as incompetent or incapable. the other thing is that a PMC does not have to deal with Military bureaucracy in combat, or out of it, and are therefore far more flexible in their tactics, equipment, and deployment.... as regular civilians become more and more acquainted with how the military works in the modern era [see "military-industrial complex", and "ROE so asinine you might as well have stayed at home"] it seems less and less likely that we will see heroes get written as military personnel themselves.
  10. test aircraft and service-aircraft do not share the same numbering scheme. The real Russian designations for those airframes translate as "object xxxxx" or "project xxxxx", much like their experimental tank numbering. Also the Russians do not like the idea of the west knowing what's up with their armed forces, so there's a lot of PURPOSEFULLY confusing nomenclature that gets out to us.
  11. close: most of the time there's a "new variant" of Russian machine it's an avionics/computer/internally upgraded model [usually these changes/upgrades filter back into older models to bring them up to current standards, which makes nomenclature even MORE ridiculous] or a straight-up MLU. Su-30 is SUPER complex because of all the export variants [see the chart from a little earlier in the thread]. this means externally, there's little or no difference. and since the Russians tend to use test/eval airframes to also try out new paint-schemes [at random], there's a new model/new scheme crossover that we westerners don't normally have to deal with, what with NATO aircraft all being boring [but effective] grey.
  12. lol, jk bud
  13. I'm having visions of a similar frame-by frame or at least beat-by-beat of Max's 1-on-3 Battlepod-Beatdown at the beginning of DYR:L? ...what?! A guy can dream, can't he?
  14. Indeed. I don't mind CGI or odd choices of style [Gankutsuou is one of my underground favorites, very avant-guard costume design], but as you say, consistency.
  15. That Hi-Nu Ver.Ka though........................................................................................................................
  16. I'm just gonna leave this here... and agree with you.
  17. avant-guarde jazz isn't everyone's gig, but since I go into DCS, Warthunder or Elite: Dangerous jaming out to similar stuff, I dug it. the Zeon's taste in pop-music was gut-wrenching lol... I'm right with you on the planes/pilots dissociation... they just look so different from eachother... I noticed it in frontier, but i'm up to ep 9 of Delta and it's beginning to get to me.
  18. on my brand-new LG monitor, the Arcadia VF-1S looks like he's holding his HAND up to that light when compared to the Yamato... that's an interesting conundrum. the Angelbird looks VERY cream-coloured [by comparison] in those side-by-sides as well...
  19. That would be a missed opportunity to completely discount it. Bring on some interesting Side-stories!
  20. I think that's exactly what's going to happen... or is this going to be more interesting than I thought?
  21. how does one make an order without crackbook?
