  1. pretty cool actually...
  2. the vf-1 is about the same size as teh current mp-11 heightwise....so a starscream height figure in robot mode (though the mp seekers are much larger in alt mode compared to the vf-1 fighter mode). mp-3/11 is bulkier than a vf-1 and MP-10 is much bulkier. if you're looking for a jetfire....1/48 will be more the right size (even then a bit undersized if going by the "holy scale chart" at about 1.5-2 inches taller than mp-10).
  3. anyone notice that the hikaur is the "movie version" while the roy is the "special movie version"? what is up with that? ***edit*** i realize what is is. its the "roy focker special", movie version and the "hikaur ichijo", movie version. i forget that its called the "roy focker special"
  4. sorry thats ridiculous. at the end of the day arcadia makes the call. they can reject issues back to the factory. they can also have people on the ground at the factory. you're name is on the box, you signed them off as "ok for sale". this is the same in ANY industry. We cannot let the blame slide downhill. its got to go straight to the top. crooked skulls are not ok despite the fact that the issue is a non issue for the majority of fans....is IS an issue for some people as it should be. i hold arcadia 100% responsible. i'm pissed even if i won't see see it 99% of the time (DYRL valks get super/strike parts for me...nake dyrl valks just look wrong to me).
  5. figs look great. who is gonna be the first to paint them? :-P
  6. never been so excited to see a silhouette! as far as magnus beign quartered like that, someone actually made in animation from the original storyboards that show it. magnus is supposed to be such a badass but he got decimated in seconds of being leader so i always thought he got punked bad. still i like what magnus stands for. a fearless perfect soldier type.
  7. looks all kinds of awesome. definitely will be seeing this or getting it on bluray. one correction though...journey to the west isn't originally a novel but a folk legend. its possible novels were written later and this is based on it though so if thats what you meant than my apologies.
  8. that last shot is a sweet photo. i remember reading books about military planes when i was a kid and they always had a drawing of a plane with all its ordinance laid out like that for each plane.
  9. you sure its not in your spam folder? i got a notification email from them when mine shipped.
  10. wow that is REALLY close. i wonder if it is down to piece to piece or run to run variation. you can barely see it putting them together like that and i'm sure you needed good lighting to see it too. i think unless everyone's is like that its "too close to call" the shot with the wings close up its easy to see....but then look at the body of the valks...not so easy. seems it could be a lighting issue but again..i trust your judgment as yoyu have compard in person. in box....he looks rpetty white. not planning to unbox mine for a little while.
  11. i'm with the magnus is white prime (or similar) robot with armor camp....which is more than a "couple years ago when that issue came out," Dreamwave has been closed for what....close to a decade? Wasn't it them that showed white prime inner robot first in fiction? Also its odd that when magnus dies in headmasters....he doesn't turn grey like any other dead transformer...i think its because the exterior is just his armor. Lastly (firstly), the G1 toy obviously. The toon never shows the inner robot but it certainly looks as if the trailer forms around the cab in certain transformations. Anyway, i don't begrudge anyone from what their own interpretation of magnus is (i think both are valid)...titanium style transformation or G1/city commander style (which are different btw).
  12. 1. VF-1 2. VF-0 3. yf-19
  13. is it just the photo are is the eye a brighter green than the old yammies? (i haven't unboxed mine yet lol)
  14. uh that auction is still on going. cheapest "sold listing" is $440...everythign else is north of $500
  15. if you're talking about the lambor mold KO's they weren't half the price...i think cheapest they could be had was $35 and thats a really good deal. retail price plus shpping of the mp car bots....$50 shipped from japan. KO's of modern stuff are annoying if you ever want to resell your things because people will be afraid of KO if they don't know what to look for.
  16. yes mp insecticons would be awesome. need more early non seeker decepticons (as much as i love seekers we need the other guys!). i'd have a nerdgasm if reflector was planned too.
  17. nice pick ups david. time to get on feral rex and giant/hercules now. :-P i can't wait from smokescreen to arrive. that alt mode is so awesome and his head is soooo toon.
  18. someone did those mods and engineered a superior mp-3.....igear. lol. kawamori didn't "want to make the same toy" he did 30 years ago when he helped with some diaclones....at the time of mp-03 TF aramada was a recent memory..starscream was a swordsman....the kibble on the hilt was suppposed to resemble scabbads a samurai might have on his belt. i think though if they went with that idea and deviated so far from the G1 source material they might as well have included a damn sword that fits in there. that would have been really cool and have really pissed peple off. haha. back to the topic. i don't see why you couldn't have horizontal stabilizers on a vf-1...they'd just need to be on a hinge to mofold up and then anothe rmecahnicsm to fold into the legs. its not really that hard to hide stuff if you want to. imagine the vertical stabilizers on the arms of a mospeada legioss..with an added hinged joint to fold them horizontal. yes i did jump trom TF to macross to mospeada back to macross in one paragraph. lol.
  19. call me when 60% of retail sales happen in the span of 2 months leading up to christmas like it does here. haha
  20. while some observe and celebrate it, christmas is just not a that big holiday in japan...the target market where the great majority of the product is sold. even so, i think the vf-1s roy came out in perfect time for gift giving purposes if thats what you meant. the hikaru...is a bit late for that but in the end....its irrelevant mostly.
  21. other than the size of the carbots, thats the biggest problem i have with FP's take...its got the cars backwards. its a modern idw influenced take vs. something more g1ish. the head looks great though. overall, it seems a well executed version of that design...unfortunatley i don't like the design its based on. :-( i'm hoping warbotron's take will be more to my liking.
  22. unless they made new shutoffs in the mold i'm sure this thing will be molded the same way. however ,this decos seems to need less paint. i cancelled my order for this months ago but i may be drawn back in....it looks so good!
  23. yup i've always thought so too. something about the wings also reminds me of the f-111 more than the 14 too though undeniably the f-14 was the main inspiration. one thing i've always found odd about macross valks though is their complete lack of horizontal stabilizers though. kind of jarring actually...i thnk thats why the vf-1 (and most valks) while ageless looks better from some angles than others.
  24. interesting, i was talking more about the panels and normal parts etc but i guess i never looked at the joints on FP's stuff too closely.
