yeah, big problem with trade is it isnt regulated, when you have 3rd world countries whier the government forces them into slave labor, but then again you dont get caught unless your Mrs Stewart (you cant compete with that), All the econo kids here think the same thing your talking about and that all the americans are going to do is have the management jobs and "controll" information and all the labor is going to be done in another country or with foreign labor here. It is happening, but the products/services are suffering. thats whier you economic meltdown is going to happen. and unless your dealing with high end product and a high end market, your suffering. The old saying is doing a back flip, sell one thing for a million bucks or sell one million things for a buck each, which is easier? for those who think a world economy is the way are gravly mistaken. what do you think is going to happen when wages in Mexico are the same as here and have the same opertunities, your cheap labor just got bit more expensive hence hyper inflation, then Mexicos economy falls. hyper inflation is a real thing, its happening in china right now, they cant print money fast enough and thiers no controll or backing too it edit; sorry guys this probably isnt the place for a political grip, and A1 I have no doubt to your expertise on the subject -

I know what your saying, just that when people cant even afford the $300 model, what happens then? I worked on my garage this past weekend, and not to say that we (Americans) are doing it too ourselves, and between me and another guy (skilled trade) we put the roof on from 7:30am to 3:00 pm, and its 900 square feet. most foregn laborers cant get it done in 2 days with a crew of 3 for the same price, its just the company owner is too lazy to do the work himself, so he takes a small cut and highers migrant workers so he has least input for maximum output. For me that equals lazy,,, now putting that to a big business, most campanies want to subcontract the work and have a straight profit, for example playstation, designed here/Japan,, tools made in Japan/here (quality), Parts molded in china and assembled thier. Even though they have a government program that forces cheap/slave labor, they still have to buy the raw materials which is at the same price of all the other countries for the same quality. the only thing thier saving a bit of money on is the assembly. I have no doubt that a global economy is coming, but if you dont have a product that caters tward the rich or are rich to begin with (multi millionaire) you will be forced into poverty. then and only then will people realize the harm in not establishing and maintaining thier own economy. Look at China that place is heading for a major depresion with super inflation. its by the book, if economy isnt maintained when inflating it will crash. I agree with you in portion, but most companies are out to mazimize profit, not stay alive. do you really think that it would cost double to manifacture the same product here?,,,Japan doesnt think so when they open an assembly plant in Ohio. The rise of bankruptcies is the ignorance of thinking that your company and business will grow at the same rate every year or quarter and that if you dont meet that projection its considered a loss even though your still making profit or positive flow or whatever they call it IE, my company made 13.5 billion last year, one division only turned a profit of $.25 a share,, so they sold it and dont want to quote anymore business in that sector cause it isnt "profitable enough" thats just greed in my eyes and it will eventually lead to the downfall of my company and others like it (lear) -

Dude, have you ever taken an Economics class? It has nothing to do with "wanting" cheap labor... American businesses are FORCED to get cheaper labor to keep their products competitive in the marketplace. American workers demand more, therefore if one manufactures here, the product may cost the end consumer twice as much. NO company can stay in business for long manufacturing here. The white house can't do a thing to stop this, its just a global economy. Thats the way things work. 350412 eh, mostly BS that companies want you to think, my company sends stuff overseas to maximize profits for stock holders (cause it looks good in the paper), thier not even worried about product till it gets pulled from them. I can do the work of ten of them in half the time and thier only saving 30%, your right a bit though, the major corps push the supplliers to save money, but its mostlly they dont want to give up thier 13million dollor bonuses at the end of the year,,,oh, and the mans 3.4 million salary. I will say those days are numbered cause a global economy puts everyone in poverty level and only people with a lot of cash will be able to buy products, your not going to buy a caddy if you can barlly afford your mortgage (which will be going to 60 years soon) anyway, thats my rant, I hope it goes to survival of the fittist, Im an alpha male if you believe in that kinda thing, Ill stay away from your territory A1 -

I'd send them to George Bush or Dich Cheney, they get things done. 350391 only after about 10,000 people die and america losses 1/3 of the job market to green cards -
I actually don't mind it. I've always had odd tastes though. I used to want a opal gt and/or a bug eyed sprite. Even though they were pieces of c I thought they looked cool. I need a pick up more than a cool looking car that can't make dump runs at the moment so it's moot regardless 350025 I allways liked the Opel's, a good freind of mine restored a GT a few years back for his dad. I like how the headlights work
