Thanks, MacrossJunkie. This is my first attempt at playing a "news reporter." LOL! I'm starting to hear crickets in the background.... I had a feeling by the time anything gets on a blog, it the news would have already started to become stale. I'm curious about that, too. Notice the two clear plastic cubes that look like they're holding up the nosecone. Loose joints on the early prototype? I'm sure they'll get around to fixing it. I can't imagine they'd release a fig that can't stand in GERWALK.

Mecha Guy's blog just posted an announcement for the 1/60 Macross 7 VF-19S Blazer Valkyrie Emerald Force Unit. Release Date: November 2011 Price: 22,000 yen Pretty bird, especially the battroid mode. Thing is, I've never been a fan of Mac7's more shounen anime theme, which makes it a pass for me. Anyway, enjoy the pics...if they haven;t already been posted somewhere else in this site.

LOL! Can't argue about the potentially exploding shoulders. But yeah, if I had the extra cash to spare [and I'd have to abstain from buying any figs for the next three to four months to have that kind of cash] REX would definitely make an awesome centerpiece for my mech collection. Frankly, that thing is detailed enough to be more than a mere toy or figure, but a sculpture or a piece of articulated pop art. It wouldn't look out of place if you displayed it among a shelf of legitimate metal sculptures crafted by bona fide artists.
-
I remember someone mentioning that price back in the first page. Or was it 30,000 yen? Which is somewhere around the same as 400 US. Either way, I agree that it's an awesome fig. The LED's on the railgun is pure win. Personally, though, I just don't think I can spend that much on it. I guess you could say it's just out of my self-imposed budget.
-
Yeah, but that's two triple-changing figures for one non-transforming fig. I realize that the REX is really well-built and all, but that kind of price for a single figure, even one at that size...to me, I personally find it rather expensive. Trust me, if I could afford it, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
-
At 400 USD a pop, it's WAY too rich for my blood.
-
Hoping they take their time with this one. Totally maxed out my fig funds pre-ordering Alto's renewal version VF-25, and buying MP-10 Optimus. Q2 or even Q3 2012 would be perfect.

I should try that. Ironically, he's pretty stable in exaggerated poses. Seems like the direct opposite of Sentinel. Stands well in neutral stance, but can't hold an action pose. In a way, Sentinel has the same problem. Only his toes and heel are in contact with the ground.

I AM seriously going to try those transformations on Sentinel! But damn, I should really consider buying one of those HA Basics figs. Whirl makes a pretty kickass mechtech weapon for the leader class toys. As for bot mode stability, I blame the batteries on Sentinel, and the fact that his feet are about as stable as a two-legged chair. Megatron? I wouldn't know, since I don't own him. But he doesn't look that unstable to me in bot mode. Sentinel's notorious, though.

Arrrgghhh!!! They're everywhere! Yeah, Sentinel's my favorite, too. If the arms were a little longer, it might even pass off as a legitimate GERWALK/chicken walker mode. Megatron ain't too bad either.

Is it just me or does nearly every flight-capable Transformer have some hidden GERWALK mode?

You're right. Fortunately, I came to my senses just a minute after posting that. It's just a tiny speck that you can only see when light reflects off of the windscreen. I dunno, it's like an itch you just have to scratch. I guess I was expecting perfection after all that money I paid for the fig. In a few weeks, it'll probably stop bothering me, and eventually, I'll stop noticing it altogether.

I noticed that the texture of the clear plastic is also kind of "wavy", unlike the smooth polished finish of MP-01's windscreen. WTF Takara.... I wonder if there are any ways to polish off the air bubble/nub with polishing compounds or fine grain sandpaper?

Just got my MP-10 from the store last Saturday. Anyone notice the windscreen has some slight imperfections on the plastic? There's a tiny nub the size of a grain of sand on the left windscreen, which is only visible when light reflects off of it. I'm probably a bit of an OCD case, but that tiny imperfection is starting to bather me the more I look at it. But if it's a QC issue on most of the figs, then I won't bother going back for a replacement. Damn store is pretty out of the way.

This doesn't/shouldn't apply to the renewal version and the DN & BoP...right?

Awesome work! I'll have to content myself with looking a pics of the Thunder Hummer set, though. Not sure I have the patience and eye for detail to fix up a complex kit like this one. There are easily over fifty individual parts on that thing!

@ Ghost Train, War Maker, BeyondtheGrave, Thanks for all the info. Made a decision to buy the game. Will be stopping by the mall either today or tomorrow to pick up a copy.

Thanks for the replies, people! One more thing before I buy it; how's the replay value of the game? Unlockables, extras, multiple endings...or is the game fun enough for repeated playthroughs like RE4 and 5? To be honest, I'm not that big of a fan of FPS's. Is the ratio of third-person to 1st person balanced? Thanks.

I'm tempted to buy Deus Ex - Human Revolution. Thing is, I've never played any previous Deus Ex games before. Would I be lost in the plot if I just went ahead and played Deus Ex - HR? Also, what is this game supposed to be? IGN calls it a FPS, while a review I read in a local newspaper said it was a RPG[???] NOTE: I posted an identical post on another thread. Not sure while one I should post this one. A thousand apologies, mods.

Watched it, and I can only say that it's a mixed bag. The plot is nothing groundbreaking, but definitely better than Endgame. Basically, it's set in a futuristic post-apocalyptic New York, and begins during the Roman invasion of Britannia. A Britannic rebel named Colin seeks vengeance against a Roman general named Marcus [who achieves immortality after being assassinated by Colin's wife Moya] for the slaughter of his village and his wife. Colin is made immortal after being captured by the Romans in a botched camp infiltration and killed by Marcus. The rest of the story involves him tracking Marcus through the ages and getting his ass handed to him every time until the final showdown. Character-wise, it's not bad. The key characters are sufficiently developed, and Marcus being the arrogant Roman that he is makes for an interesting antag--dangerous, stuck-up, and almost playful in his treatment of Colin. That said, he's also rather cliched in his villainy. The English voice over is mediocre at best with quite a bit of inaccuracy--the Britannic rebels sound just like the Scottish warriors Colin later acquaints himself with, and the Roman soldiers speak with a Cockney accent. Go figure. Overall, it's worth a watch. If you could stomach Endgame, this is well above the decent line.

Childhood memories getting crapped on left and right. First it was Conan, and now even Highlander. I would've liked to save judgment for until after the movie comes out, but the new Conan did not exactly fill me with hope about 80's reboots. I'll stick with the DVD's of the original movies, thank you. #edited for typos.

Thanks for all the great advice, guys! Good to know that I can still spray outdoors in relative safety; it's pretty unlikely that I'll be able to find a respirator since I've been searching everywhere for the past two months. I think I'll see if I can find a spray booth or exhaust fan and use that outdoors. Should be safe enough to use even on a windy day. Either that or I'll just save myself some money and just try to stay upwind. Thanks, all.

Sorry for the newbie question, but my last post got me thinking, and a little paranoid. So far, I've been priming and clear coating outdoors with only a dual layer of surgical masks topped with a Kleenguard NIOSH N95 dust mask for protection. I hold my breath and step away from the area once I'm done. Still, I've got a feeling that this might not be enough. Currently, I'm having a hard time tracking down a respirator mask that sufficiently filters organic vapors [to any fellow KL-dwelling Malaysians out there; if you know of a place that sells these, please do tell]. So, do you think what I'm currently using is sufficient, or should I stop until I've bought a respirator?

@ Negotiator, Keith and Gaijin, Thanks for the tips, guys.
