Another thing to worry about is creasing when posing the figure. I can't even place my TDKR DX-12 Batman into the Tumbler because the rubber parts on the hips will crease if you bend the legs far enough to sit. You can pretty much forget about putting the fig in a crouching position. The best I can do is pose it on the Bat-pod, and carefully, at that.

Nice! They look like solid, single-piece prints. How much did they cost? 1/100 scale?

Wait what? Jon/Arya/Tyrion love triangle? Well I'm glad that bit the dust.

Yup, turning Eddie into an eco-terrorist kinda ruined the movie for me, not to mention the whole "T-Rex in LA" thing.

Thanks! August doesn't sound so bad. As long as nothing else threatens to siphon more money out of my wallet, it shouldn't be a problem.

I think you'll enjoy it--it's nothing like the movie, and in a good way.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
GU-11 replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I agree. I heard that the Oshii movie isn't anything like Masamune's manga (which I've read about, but never actually read), but I still like it the best among the later anime. The second movie was decent, but it felt overwrought affected, and more like a side-story resolving around Batou. As for whether 2nd Gig is less episodic than SAC, it's been a while since I watched either seasons, but IIRC, it's got a somewhat more unified storyline than SAC. It still has the occasional one-off eps, though. -
Awful timing. I'd just bought a PS4 and a new monitor. But depending on when the release date is, I might be able to scrounge up enough pennies for it...hopefully.

Thing is, you can't ship solvents (not internationally, at least). That's why HLJ only sells Vallejo paints.

Hi! Gunze Sangyo's Mr. Color paints are lacquer-based, and you can get Tamiya acrylic paints to act like lacquer paints by thinning them with their own brand of lacquer thinner (with emphasis on using Tamiya's OWN brand of lacquer thinner; other brands might produce unpredictable or disastrous results). I think most automotive paints are either lacquer or urethane based.

Well, getting two airbrushes is probably a good idea, actually. One double-action one for the more complex stuff, and one for base coats, silver and primer. After having to do a deep clean on my HP-CS the few time I used metallic paints on it, I'd since switched back to my Tamiya basic trigger-type airbrush for metallics and hard-to-clean stuffs like primer. The Tamiya is far easier to clean, as you can strip it down to its component parts and just soak the central block in lacquer thinner without worry.

And I thought the guys at Capcom were a-holes for locking content that's already inside their discs. I'm holding on to hope that maybe the space battle levels still aren't presentable enough to add to the trailer, or they just neglected it. But if there are no space battles, that's really going to be disappointing. I was totally addicted to the space battle levels in Battelfront II.- 6831 replies

Yeah, as far as Hollywood's come in the realm of CGI, you just can't beat having an actual working prop right there. Somehow, you can still tell whether something is CG in certain instances.

I have to agree with Derex here. Double action airbrushes allow you to do so much more with them. The HP-M2 is a good airbrush, though, as far as single-action goes. While I'm using an HP-CS myself, I've seen Dr. Cranky use one of these in his youtube tutorials, and he seems pretty satisfied with it.

I can't believe they actually made it work physically in the real world. That's just awesome.

I suppose ignorance is bliss. I've never played a game by DICE before, and I really enjoyed the last SW Battlefront game for the PS2 (which was probably not made by DICE). I'll see what the reviews say before taking the plunge. Well, it's not too bad if you take the time to grind levels. I treated the game as one big level grind and took my time with everything, and it really helps to even the odds. Of course, there are tons of players who have done "base-level" playthroughs and speed-runs, which is fine, but if you want to avoid getting frustrated by the game, leveling up as much as you can before a new boss is the way to go. And in true karmic justice, one of the game producers got his ass handed to him when he tried to play Bloodborne in new game +.- 6831 replies

Nice! I've been waiting to talk Bloodborne with someone! Just a few basic words of advice. Don't be afraid of dying or level grinding--it's an inevitability. Also, never underestimate Father Gascoigne or werewolves in general--they can be worse than any other enemy in the game due to their speed, agility and ferocity. Here's some evidence of just how unfairly over-powered Father G is in comparison to other bosses, especially since he's the first compulsory boss. At level 60, I whooped Cleric Beast like an angry dad with a belt--took him down in less than 30 seconds. I was just 3-5 level less when fighting Father G, and it took me 3 retries, and I had to employ every single exploit I could find on youtube. Secondly, don't be afraid of rushing into a fight with the first boss (Cleric Beast or Father G), as it's the easiest way to gain 1 Insight, which is necessary for leveling up. Even if you die from the fight, you'll still be given an Insight. Without at least 1 Insight, the doll in Hunter's Dream who uses your blood echoes to level you up won't come to life. Also, patience, level grinding and upgrading weapons are the keys to making Bloodborne less "impossible."- 6831 replies

Finally made some progress on Bloodborne today. Took me 3 tries and over a week of grinding, but I finally killed Father Gascoigne aka Daddy G. His human form was nothing special, but that damn werewolf form could rip you in half almost without effort. I'd have never been able to defeat him, if I hadn't seen that youtube clip where you can "cheese" him by getting him to attack you from the other side of the stairs. I heard that even compared to the later bosses, he's considered one of the tougher ones. Well, they're not kidding. Even at level 51-53 (which is apparently considered way over-powered for hunter to fight a first boss) and exploiting the environment to "cheese" him, it took me 3 tries to kill the SOB. Then again, games like these were never my strong suit. Either way, I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself for that achievement.- 6831 replies

Just started Bloodborne. They weren't kidding about the difficulty; the fact that you lose all exp points after death makes it all the worse. Hell, even the act of leveling up is a chore, becuse you have to to through a huge amount of trouble to even unlock the ability to level up. What's crazy is that I don't even mind. The gameplay is so good that I don't mind level grinding and making myself that much stronger with each play session. Given the level grind addict that I am, I'll probably be farming blood echoes for weeks before I even want to explore any further.- 6831 replies

Huge monster? You mean that red dragon thing? I think you can just run past it or take a detour. Once you start leveling up, that thing's a breeze. Yeah, one playthrough of FF13 was more than enough for me too. I spent 4 frakking hours on that one final boss fight, and I never want to go through that ever again. Those elephant things were too hard to kill even with the death spell because it never sticks. After a couple of tries, I just gave up and never played again. BTW, I can't even use my backed up save files on my new PS3. No matter what game I play, it keeps saying that the file's from another user, and either can't be loaded, or once loaded, it refuses to save any progress in that session.- 6831 replies
