Oh, guess you did get it, then, eh? It's been a long time since I last transformed this thing, but I thought I remembered that part of the heat shield staying up on this particular model once snapped in place. Did you try yanking harder as suggested earlier in the thread? But yeah there was a reason I kept it stored with the heat shield deployed. Plus, I kind of like the look of the fighter mode with heat shield deployed (especially on this valk).

Well I definitly see a hand on the inside of Vortex's left leg. Also, Blast Off looks awesome but I'm not crazy about Vortex's coloration. Edit: Got beat on the hand spotting

Funny thing: those were the original colors, back in 1998.

*Facepalm* We went through this with MP Hot Rod, too Come on, Mike, don't be so anti-social. You know you want that gorgeous piece of red-ish plastic. (I was not a fan of their color choice after seeing him in person) PS The Marshalls in Monroeville has never had much in the way of Generations/RTS so I'm not sure you'll have much luck by Sams Club. I got an MP Skywarp at that TJ Maxx a year ago though

Try the Marshalls (or is it TJ Maxx?) behind Westmoreland mall. They had 3 Perceptors less than a week ago. I've never seen a single Junkion at retail, but managed to get a Wreck-gar and Junkheap at decent prices in the aftermarket (and wouldn't mind getting a few more of either) I'd like a PCC Heavytread, too, while I'm at it. KOToys.com perhaps?

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
jwasko replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I don't know why everyone needs a reason why the clones "betrayed" the Jedi. There's a reason why Order 66 was simply referred to as Order 66: they had known what it was since early on in their training, when they were given a list of potential "worst case scenario" orders. I can't particularly recall for sure, but I believe it was Rex who said that the clones were serving a greater cause: to serve and defend the Republic. They weren't bred to serve the Jedi. In fact, Order 66 specifies that the Jedi needed to be executed because they are traitors/a threat to the Republic to which they were made to be loyal. There are some clones whose personal loyalties made them hesitate or even refuse to execute their commanders, but not all Jedi were as friendly and respectful toward them as Anakin (see: Krell). Also, some clones (like Dogma in these episodes) are more likely to obey orders without hesitation, over personal loyalties to their Jedi commanders and even fellow clones.- 1217 replies

Yamato 1/60 VF-19 Fire Valkyrie (v2.0)
jwasko replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Only until he finds someone selling a $10 transformer that he just has to have for $100 -
1/60 YF-21: I wasn't a fan of the design/lineart but got one "just to have one." I actually like the look of the toy's fighter mode, but gerwalk and battroid are still huge mehs. And the transformation makes me cringe anytime I attempt it. Revoltech (transforming) VF-1: I saw some pictures that made it look good (in battroid and gerwalk) and it was on sale cheap...it turned out even worse than people said it was (both the design and the build quality/qc), and makes me wonder why people buy any revoltechs at all

I just got a 0A (mass production), and I lucked out and got the safe(est?) release of the mold for a pretty good deal here on MWF (Thanks, Dreadpyrat) There are parts of it that feel a little looser in fighter mode than I might like, but it is drop dead sexy in all three modes. To me, it's a more realistic and "perfected" representation of the VF-1 design, and is actually my favorite Macross toy I own right now.

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
jwasko replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
There's a fair amount of crappy episodes, but if you want to see some of the best examples (in my opinion) watch: -Season 2, Episode 5 "Landing at Point Rain" (cool battles) -Season 2, Episode 17 "Bounty Hunters" (Seven Samurai homage) -Any episode involving Cad Bane (end of season 1 and beginning of season 2, I think)- 1217 replies

There wasn't really any trooper action, but I thought this episode was quite good. Anyone agree?- 1217 replies

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series

Agree. The first half (or somewhat less) of the episode I reapeatedly asked myself why on earth they thought it was a good idea to focus on Jar Jar/the Gungans. Then Maybe Jar Jar is the mastermind behind all this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ovO7lmFYCc- 1217 replies

Pretty sure he means the difference between the various V2 releases, not V1 vs V2. Here's Jenius's review that contains the details you seek: http://anymoon.com/blog/?p=4599 (scroll down to the "Charm & Collectability" subsection) And this list from the review shows which valk is which version: http://anymoon.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Yamato-V2-Table-1A.jpg

I got skyhammer based on various positive reviews. Aside from his lack of a mid-thigh swivel, I really like him...especially his 3rd mode (excuse the messy background)

I don't particularly remember the "D-Do I eat the flashlight?" part, but I do vaguely rmember him picking up the pistol during the fight in the palace, using it to make a big explosion, and basically saying "cool." I didn't expect it to become his primary weapon and find it odd that he is pretty much exclusively using a ranged weapon while all the other Thundercats are using melee weapons. I sort of forgot he even had his trademark whip until the race to the top of the Tower of Omens. Also: I think Episode 4 (the Petalars, right?) may have been my favorite of the series so far. Thank your friend for me.

I don't remember where I read it (except that it was in an expanded universe novel), but the answer is effectively: Yes he could use the force just fine, but no he was not as powerful as (pre-Mustafar) Anakin was. In fact, I think I even remember something being said about Anakin losing some raw power when Dooku cut off his arm in Episode II. On the one hand, I don't particularly like the idea of midichlorians. On the other, I do like the idea that having portions of one's body replaced by machines severs (part of) your connection to the Force.

You know, none of the other changes really offended me..not even Han not shooting first (I never even noticed it one way or the other until someone pointed it out to me). But this RotJ change seriously ruined the moment. I was almost prepared to accept the first (sort of muttered) "no" but the drawn out "no" killed it. Looking at it objectively, Lucas probably wanted to reflect back to the end of EpIII when Vader found out Padme died and cried out "no." And I guess that sort of works: Anakin isn't going to make the same mistake twice and put his faith in Palpatine while a loved one/family member dies. But it still ruins the moment. (And the new Krayt dragon call sounds stupid, too)

It was only five out of ten, and it wasn't at the end. The deaths started at the beginning and continued all the way through.
