  1. I think we just got a 1/20 scale preview of how big the box will be at the latest Macross Modelers stream
  2. Wait, which one? I have like 4 of them in progress....
  3. Still waiting for a Hasegawa VF-27....
  4. So it costs 800 yen more than a regular VF-31 because of the mobile game AR crossover?
  5. I have found no molding issues with my kit. As far as scale comparison, it's smaller than 1/72. Only have a Hasegawa for comparison:
  6. I don't own the Figuarts to do the try myself, but here's a height chart for how it compares to other plastic model waifus. Also how a few of them fit on the Gerwalk. Did these tests to see if any of them would be useful smaller/bigger starting points for the Walkure because there is some height variety to the cast. Frame Arms Girl and Chinagguy don't have good enough neck joints to look forward unfortunately, so if you're gonna use them for this it's gonna need neck surgery. After a side by side comparison, I'm still very much pleased with what Aoshima delivered. Now I just want more variety of the kits.
  7. Mine took a leisurely 50 days to arrive by SAL, but now it's finally here I'm quite happy with it. The only issue as already has been mentioned is that it's not one of the characters from the show, but that can be fixed with a bit of putty, sweat and tears down the road
  8. The new Ebata Risa artwork is absolutely gorgeous. I really, really need a high-res version of this in my life. http://macross.jp/news/?id=863
  9. Well, the kit comes with all 3 heads, A/J/S, and the decals for both Hikaru and Focker. The figure runner themselves are only labeled Pilot Figure and not by name, but if you look at this shot of the visor, those are some big, tall eyes. They definitely look more like Hiraku's than Focker's.
  10. Runner preview of the sitting pilot figure: https://plamax.exblog.jp/29802407/ It looks like Hikaru's face is molded on in the inside surface of the clear helmet visor
  11. Don't use the mobile url. If you paste the plain url the forum software will embed it automagically I didn't actually notice the extra ponytail on the 35th Anniversary version, just assumed it was decal/sticker spam
  12. Vanilla Valkyrie is on display at Shizuoka Hobby Show. No date, no price, still listed as DYRL version.
  13. One of the Max Factory staff is testing out the VFG EDIT: Very nice review of the waifu aspect of the kit http://blog.livedoor.jp/hobisima-rittai/VFG_VF-31J_2018-04-28
  14. Waiting for HLJ to charge me for mine. I am actually contemplating making mine Mirage, but I have so many heavy mod projects already.....
  15. Manual scans are up on Hobby Search https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10510958
  16. Vanilla Valkyrie kit still happening it seems
  17. On the plus side, it's so huge that masking off the emblems should be easy Ended up pre-ordering from amiami. Gonna paint it Max colors :3
  18. hrm, actually, is this a licensing issue? OG Macross not allowed on the english store? And looking at the math GSC store => 39800 + 2000EMS = 41800 Amiami difference from that is 8820, which would probably cover the EMS shipping anyway?
  19. So I decided to try out the GSC store for their 2,000 yen flat rate EMS shipping, the only problem is I can't find this thing on their english site https://goodsmileshop.com/ja/p/MAX_PLA_JP_00056 The japanese site works, but it doesn't seem to be listed on the english one. Halp?
  20. What the heck?! Mirage Custom Draken III Source: http://www.hasegawa-model.co.jp/event/shs2018/ Product page: http://www.hasegawa-model.co.jp/product/65843/
  21. If that includes ALL THE THINGS (both Strike and Super Gerwalk as well as plain Valk legs) then it's fine by me.
  22. Well, I'm not really sure if the minimum factory prices are comparable to a large mechanical kit. If you start looking at their bigger stuff, the Pacific Rim kits were in the 7,000-8,000 yen range, and they're taller than the average Bandai MG. So it's 3-4 times the price of a minium factory figure, but boatloads more plastic. Then you have the 1/12 Panzer IV, which is 490mm long, 220mm high and 3.2kg packaged weight but still only ~16,000 yen. Plastic-wise the VF-1 probably has at the minimum double of what the Panzer does. If we're placing bets on price I'd says 25,000-35,000 yen for just the fighter release. 40,000-50,000 yen for Super/Strike Gerwalk. After that add the EMS/FedEx/DHL only shipping due to massive size and obligatory customs charges that larger packages have a harder time escaping. Definitely still under one thousand dollary-dos, but still hard to explain to your partner
  23. The fighter mode parts are still there, lower on the display There's also some event on the 22nd. Maybe holding off the spicy details until then?
