  1. Taking it seriously made it far my goofy IMO, it's still the same absurdity, but they tried to make it edgy, realistic and cool in the same setting with the same characters, it made me laugh as much as the Van Damme film. I will never not laugh at Ryu staring down a giant villain then they start shooting off fire and lightning, you just can't escape the stupidity and over the top nature of the source. It's cool, and a fun movie, but goofy as hell. Attempting to adapt the source material seriously won't just make audiences take the absurdity of this franchise more seriously, it's just another avenue that leads to the franchise being goofy and over the top, trying to take it seriously is cringe. I think that the only decent balance was the YouTube Legacy and Assassin's First series, even then, it still fell into the trappings of trying to take an absurd series seriously. It looked real, they took the source more seriously and attempted to ground the characters, setting and fighting, but it was still dudes fighting and shooting multi colored fire balls at each other. Better to just lean into the chaos.
  2. Oh yeah fun will be had, I saw the rivalry between this and the second Mortal Kombat movie is picking up, that first reboot movie was just okay, I'm looking forward to Street Fighter far more then MK2.
  3. It was a good movie but it was still dumb, goofy, over the top and the story and characters still can't be taken seriously. There's just no avoiding that when adapting Street Fighter, it's still a dude in a white ghi shooting fire balls at either a seven foot muy Thai fighter, an Uber Nazi looking super villain dictator, or any one of the various full on over the top monster final bosses.
  4. Those third party sellers are absurd, who knows, it's not the least or most shady thing I've seen from an Amazon third party seller, it's like the wild West sometimes. I see no benefit so who knows what they're getting from it, I see no end game, just a really odd listing This listing was a bit different though, it's for a product not even officially announced by Hiya themselves, a third party seller took it upon themselves to make a listing for something that hasn't been pushed back, just not actually announced as in production and there hasn't even been a prototype shown.
  5. As far as I can tell that's a listing for a product that isn't even announced, I can't find a single other source for even an announcement of a Hiya Male MUTO so I don't think that listing is anything genuine. As far as I was able to look up Hiya hasn't even shown off a prototype.
  6. I'm in for Tiamat and all the other B and C rank kaiju from the Monster verse. I'm glad someone is taking a crack at them, just wish Hiya would've done a male MUTO to go with the female.
  7. I'm guessing they're saving him for a potential sequel villain, then clone Bison for part 3 if they get there. Street Fighter is weird lol. My only worry about the film so far is there's a really big cast, maybe too big, I'm guessing a few characters will just be fight scenes, no way they can focus and put actual character time into a cast this big.
  8. Definitely excited for more House of the Dragon, Lanterns, and Dunk and Egg! Finally adapted after years of just being talked about, and it looks pretty good.
  9. Yeah I think Drinker reviewed Superman, not Supergirl, which obviously isn't out yet, he may have done an opinion video on the trailer. I think it looks just fine, I liked Superman overall, I'll definitely be checking it out. Momoa finally playing the DC character he was always meant to is a huge bonus for me, I've loved Lobo for years, dude is insane, THE MAIN MAN!
  10. This looks awesome! Cast looks spot on, I'm excited, my buddy and his wife did some stunt work on this and they said it was a really fun project. Street Fighter is dumb, and weird, and there's no way around bringing some of these designs to life without looking goofy, so I think the tone they chose is absolutely the right way to go, trying to adapt Street Fighter with a straight take is a fools errand. This looks like a lot of fun, I love the energy and tone, plus the car beat'em up mini game is pretty hilarious, definitely interested in seeing a full trailer, this was a nice teaser.
  11. Hot damn, that's a pretty perfect E Honda, Jada is absolutely murdering with this line. Out of all the companies that have put out Street Fighter figures, this has gotta be my favorite line, good sculpts, accessories, price is right, and the scale is right about where I'd want it for a line getting this large and diverse.
  12. The CG in the show is quite spotty, but somehow, still works? Like, it's not great, but I can accept it because of the performances and the whole surreal nightmare reality-warp thing IT can do. Very solid last episode, for anyone that has read the book, and King's other work, it's been pretty fun to watch and catch easter eggs here and there, Dark Tower, The Shining, Shawshank, etc.
  13. I'd love another film, the first one was great. Loved the eyes too, worked for me and looked great, wouldn't have the same personality without them IMO, helps sell the non-human other-worldliness of Alita.
  14. Yup, that looks like Link and Zelda to me.
  15. https://atomicmuseum.vegas/coming-soon-world-of-fallout-exhibit/ Pretty easy to get to too, right on Flamingo.
