It is most definitely a holy grail. But for me I think it'll just stay that way. I'm perfectly happy with the 1/3000 and how it displays and just don't have the skills to do a 1/2000 justice. Not to mention I don't have enough dipslay space. That thing is as big as a coffee table. There was this one post some time ago where someone fully painted their 1/2000 and even macross city with a little minmay painting on a movie theater. THAT was pure awesome.

Great! You sir just made one of the best purchases of your (macross obsessed) life! Just remember to pay close attention to the antenna section while transforming it so as not to stress the thin plastic while transforming and you'll be fine. Watch Graham's video for tips and watch out while taking the cruiser mode out of the plastic storage bag for the first time. There were some reports of people pulling the cruiser out of the bag and having the antenna "catch" on a bag hole ripping the antenna off. Make sure that doesn't happen to you. Also use super glue to attach all the little bits on. Trust me, you'll thank yourself later.

Eh. It's not a deal breaker for me though I can understand how it can be to some. Actually I hope it's not a deal breaker to most since I want it to sell well enough for Bandai to warrant the cannon fodder.

Nice. Going for the alto "hime" sama pose?

Doesn't HLJ give you a grace period to pay? You could just put in an order then sit on it till the very end of the grace period. Just put in an order now and e-mail them to see how long that grace period lasts.

Get the toy. Get the toy. Did I mention the toy? Seriously, you have better things to do with your time than spending weeks assembling this thing. Benson's right. If you really took the time, got the materials, painted it to make it look halfway decent the cost would be comparable to buying the toy anyway. I'm a model builder too and I gotta say taking on huge projects is such a turn off now with the limited time and extra responsibilities I have now.

Sweet. Almost makes me wish I didn't get rid of my CM's patlabor toys..

I am really looking forward to this one. I also like the way the loadout looks and how all the missiles still fit on the wings in battroid mode. Anyone planning on doing another group buy?

Wow, that Mazinger is so intricate. I hope that this "DX chogokin" line is not a one-off but a continuing sub division of the SOC line. I'd love to see new interpretations of older releases with this same level of detail. Having said that, I'm still waiting on things like an SOC Golion, SOC Gaoigaigar (obviously), and an SOC SRX (That would blow my mind!)

Awesome Kicker. A wall of classic macplus valks... It's like a trip down memory lane. That VF-11b was the very first Yamato valk I ever bought back way way back in college when it first came out.

Kicker, do you have some photo's of your collection room handy, like on flickr or something? I wanted to see your macross display again but didn't feel like clicking through 25 pages to find it.

Don't sweat it Kicker. That's my own personal opinion regarding display aesthetics. Everybody likes displaying their things their own way and that's cool. Besides, I guarantee symmetry doesn't matter to your visitors when they're getting sensory overload from the ridiculous amount of cool stuff in your display room.

Monster's display is attractive to me because of the symmetry. I like displays where there is an item that serves as a focal point for a shelf, with the surrounding toys making the focal point look better. For the DYRL shelf, the SDF-1; for Mac Plus shelf the vf-22; and for the TV shelf, the GBP; etc.

Nice fleet you got going there

I saw this trailer yesterday. I thought it was hilarious. My childhood is basically in that Bad guys anonymous meeting. Zangief, M Bison, Kano, Pac Man ghosts, Dr Robotnik. Great stuff. This pushes all the right buttons.

This is the most amazing transformer repaint I have ever seen. It makes the regular toy release pale in comparison. Why can't you get THAT for 250 bucks? That would be soo worth it.- 16945 replies

I finally received a VF-25S, the first renewal that I can actually play with. Can you guys enlighten me about possible break points or areas I have to look out for while transforming? For example, my ver 1 VF-25 that I recently sold had paint that came off around the hull near where the head sat in plane mode. I don't want the same to happen to this bird.

1/60 VF-1 Accessory Parts from Yamato displayed at Wonder Fest

Murphy, that is such a great display. I love it. Looks like I'm not the only one that likes the GBP without the clown hands. -
I see two separate issues. Simple answer to the above....Do you get the yen price that Nippon Yasan listed it at when you preorder it even though they raise it right after? Yes you should. It is locked it place. I don't know of ANY online webshops that would be so unscrupulous that they would raise your price after you put a preorder for it. That would just be bull@#$. My yen price listed for my VF-25G perorder is still 16000 yen even though it is now 17500 yen on the site. Second issue is this...How much you will actually pay depends on when you pay it due to the exchange rate at the time of payment. Now the exchange rate is 78 yen to the dollar. Who knows, maybe in September it will be better so that those (in the US) who pay in September will get a better deal. The decline of the dollar compared to the yen seems to have leveled off somewhat so the above could be a valid gamble.
