The computer and electronics super geek thread

Consoles are far to limited, four buttons or so is just not enough for some games yes but for the majority it is extremely limiting. There is no growth there, for example I may not use all of the buttons on a computer this year in a game but next year when I become much better at a game then I would be able to access them. And yes I know a lot of people say you can add a keyboard to your console but guess what you are basically making a low grade desktop..... -
I think Gundam is for the younger crowd, it is definitely good; but just doesnt fully satisfy the Robotech crowd. Robotech is a quite a bit more technical than Gundam in my opinion, it is little more possible in the future. Plus we love missile tons and tons of missiles and being able to dodge them with technical flying moves and there is so much more. The game Muf was hands down such a change from the routine crud that has been placed on the gaming market that I could not believe it was actually produced. I am anticipating many more coming; I hope that there will be a multi player for psp coming so we can fly squadron missions. Maybe just a multiplayer site were you have to have a psp to play online. It would run from your psp to your laptop you could see the action on both screens and ... ohhh man I could go on and on lol.

If you take the hard drive out and you dont want windows to go funky on you then; keep the hard drive that is running the laptop as the first harddrive then take the hot computers harddrive as the second or external hard drive that way the computer will not boot on with the hot laptops drive and windows will not recognize it as the booting harddrive. lol in windows 98 i would always do this so that I could get rid of a virus or any other problem that was holding my old hard drives back but I was doing it on a desktop; but i know almost as a fact that i will do the same on a desktop. -

It seems as if there is not enough money in the desktop gaming for companies to keep investing, so they spend their days in console game making and console building. Also it difficult for many people to deal with many technical aspects of computer building and instead of denying that they seemed to just rid themselves of it. But I am with you I still like the desktop gaming and there is still plenty of gaming to do. And it will be back desktop gaming has to make a come back because gaming will improve Just as hard drives took a long time to improve so will desktops -

Which company makes the best pc for gaming? And is it a reasonable price? -
Very true, But wow I have never seen such great detail and close ups in replay as the archives for your missions are shown in the game. It is almost as if you can literally pick up pieces in the replay. It is true that it is hard to get the just the right angle or any rewind.

Any word or has any one heard of the next part of this series coming out. Cant wait

How is the solid state drive? Is it instantaneous or how fast is it. This is a area that I have very little knowledge. -

Its funny you say that becuase usually I do surf the net playgames and listen to winamp agent. And if your computer cant handle crysis core and you are making it a ultimate machine then hmmm... I mean they are not going to go backwards in game making. I see you slowly making your way to the four gig mark... come on you can do it. -

You should get four gigs of ram period 2 gigs is not enough unless you want to just play pac man; trust me your computer especially a gaming machine eats more ram than it say officially. I knew to use four gigs in a gaming machine four years ago, itz cheap so go overboard. -

If I were you I would go to four especially with the prices being not to expensive. There are many things ram are used for in many matters, its a little more complicated than just saying one bold statement, it is more as to how your ram is diversified. I run three gigs of ram on a laptop lol and it cost only three hundred and fifty bucks, would you want to run your gaming machine on less? -

Check to make sure your bios is recognizing the hard drives that is one good place to play around and get them working. You might have to plug your sata cables in different ways to get the hard drives recognized by the bios. Also you can try and manually plug the information into the new hardware screen since plug and play is not finding them. But first I would try to see if the bios is recognizing them. Also you can check the jumpers on the actual hard drive, most of the time they are set correct and work without any help, so I would leave them to far far last, i mean last past calling the company. Of course this is all coming from my head and I am a little rusty so listen to the other folks first. -

I guess after playing some many games in the past I am more a judge of their engine before I actually touch them. I read reviews watch some vids of the game and past knowledge of remade games and their engine types tell me what I am getting for the buck or rom down load which I actually havent done for whill hummmm. I played god of war the second one reminded me of God of Mario; picking up coins... hoping and skipping... I did extensive research on the underwater doom... you can guess which one I speak of... Ratchet and Clank were kids now they are teens so I will leave it for them... Dragon Age okay I give you a point on the engine and system. I dont do batman... Some of the movies were okay... and just to cover the gaming in the past for batman has not been impressive hence no major sequels. Basically what I am getting at is the market is getting smaller of course we alll know that. There used to be much more variety; strategy games, rpg's, mmorpg's such Aion and farther, more space like Eve Online. Oh and watch the new Star Wars carefully I have heard and seen that it was not put together as well as the trailer showed. I know every one is looking forward to it another reason to have a good vpu that naturally works well with AMD. lol It seems like when we dont put down our toys the world starts slapping our hands with "rulers." Pun very intended!!! -

hey hey calm down calm down; This is a not push and pull You are right I have studied Effects for a while and it is a good game and better than the first one, I was thinking the same thing before I wrote the last post, but you have to admit some of the other titles are definately not of the same caliber as Mass Effects two. In fact it is not fair to put the other titles in the same line as mass effects two. The engine for mass effects two is far superior to some of the other titles. -

A honest person you are; I am speaking to all the hardcore gamers out there they know what I was truely asking and why I put "lol" at the end. Because generally gamers dont have a ton of money, therefore, making us focus, using our scrupples instead of money to make machines. And true gamers know that when building, AMD is the ultimate; giving you specs for cheaper price. AMD generally have the market on bus speads and compatibility with gpu especially sli. Its funny that some will still try to throw out a possible reason to buy a intel, as shown above but they know the truth. lol And for a general gamer it doesnt matter what you buy as long as you get the general specs you want. Your category is different from some of the others. But your on you way it seems to becoming a gamer; just ignore your girlfriend, and become obsessed with worthless specifications that most people care nothing about. And know one thing that tickkkks all of us gamers offf right know!!!!! WE ARE IN A GAME DROUGHT OR GAME RECESSION
