I managed to get lucky during the second round and snagged two.... That's the first time I have managed to score a Bandai standard release without largely inflated prices. Good luck to whomever is searching for one (or two or more).

Battroid looks great!

it's very cool to know that a completely new VALK is on its way! Don't get me wrong, I like the Bandai offerings and I think the YF-30 will be cool, but it's going to be great to have the new YF-19 this year and a completely new VALK next year (assuming we get the VF-0D). Thanks Arcadia!

1. Minmay Guard Paris 2. Minmay Guard Moon 3. VF-1D as a non canon scheme - say low viz or stealth. I thought this would be cool to mix things up a bit. 4. Black aces Apart from the guards versions, I think the VF-1D would be the most interesting release. We have only had SDFM VT-102 and the virgin road. Hell, even a fodder scheme VF-1D would sell but add the low viz and it would really move.

About the V3 discussion, I wouldn't feel compelled to re-buy all the VALKS. Even if the gimmicks were unique and plentiful, I wouldn't go about selling my V2 VALKS in favour of an update. I would say the same thing about a DX VF-1 from Bandai, I just wouldn't feel the need to buy repeat VALKS from another manufacturer. On the other hand, I would buy ANY unique paint or "never seen before" scheme. If a new larger scale VF-1 were to come out, that would be difficult to say no to...... Happy New Year!!

Received my two copies today. I need to echo Mommar''s comments, not one but both copies were mis-transformed resulting in legs almost hanging free as I removed the VALKS from their packages. It seemed to be the rear locking tab from the back of the wing which plugs into the leg. But when I attempted to lock the tab in I could tell that the leg was not aligned properly. Nothing serious, no stress marks or damage. It's funny how disappointed I felt, luckily first impressions don't count for much when you have already paid for something.

Ignore my TV SDF-1 Comments...I'm just "wishing"
-
A TV SDF -1 could impress anyone. Even though Kawamori didn't design it, I'm sure he could be "impressed" seeing it brought to mass production life as a beautifully detailed and finished piece. Let's not forget the amount of colour and different details the TV SDF-1 would require. While I would be really happy with a TV SDF-1, any new VALK design would be terrific. There are so many cool designs that haven't made it to toy form....only time will tell.....

TV SDF-1 would be EPIC!! My DYRL SDF-1 needs a friend, the wave figures are just too small and unfortunately I couldn't shell out for the 1/2000 scale beast...
-
Had to think about this for a while... VF-1 VF-19 VF-25 Love the designs, with or without "add ons" honorable mention to VF-4.
-
I seriously doubt that I will receive my two copies prior to Christmas, but you never know......
-
I think this is becoming my "most anticipated" release, at least for the past 12 months or so....
-
Love that fighter pic!!
-
Love the detail, opening missile hatches on the pod....very cool. I'm not a massive fan of the "over head" weapon system, but it certainly adds some serious fire power without adding any super packs.

I was really undecided about grabbing another VF-1S, I have 2 x DYRL and 2 x TV versions. Having said that I was thinking of grabbing one of the new releases BUT I don't think I will spend the money if there is less tampo applied. I love what other members here are able to do with weathering, and adding additional decals. Truth is I don't have the skill or the time, so less tampo from the start is a negative for me. Once it's released, I will see what the reviews say.

I grabbed two sets, I have transformed my two CF's a few times and I think they are the best Bandai VALKS to date (purely in terms of fit and finish). Not sure if I will display them both with super parts but at least I will have the option.
-
I'm going to keep my two on order, still think it's cool to get a fodder scheme for the VF-25. It's a long shot, but it would be cool if Bandai included some decals for some custom versions. Either way, I have a few naval 1/72 decals that may find their way onto these birds...

I think the key is what you intend to do with the VALK. I have the three variants, they have been on display for years now. I transform them and rotate my display every six months or so, I agree they haven't aged the best but once I set them up they don't move, droop or sag. If you want a VALK that you can frequently transform this is not the best one, nor is it a good buy at that $400 level. However if you want a mean looking fighter and you can get it below $200, go for it - you won't regret it. If you intend to transform the VALK and handle it a lot, go for the 27. It's not perfect, but it's a much newer design and looks rather aggressive in fighter and battroid. I have echoed several other members comments, but I think you just need to assess what you really want - display piece versus a transformable toy.

Man I wish all the Bandai releases were Tamashii exclusives! I went with two, setting some cash aside for the YF-19...

Already received a "preperation in progress" from NY
-
Nope, no payment requests just yet.

I have a few of them, fairly straight forward but only suitable for smaller Valks and even then they are not really secure. You essentially plug in the stand adaptor that came with your chosen Valk, use the lever arm to adjust the pitch of the Valk and then the entire adaptor can rotate to give you a "banking" pose. The problem lies in the lack of secure fixing, Esspecially around the rotating connection. I know some members have used various materials to semi fix the positions making them far more secure. I traded up to flight pose stands, but I still have a couple of mighty blocks displaying some cool battroid poses.

I still think the VF2SS is a Great design, I would love to see this in a 1/60 toy someday.

Very cool, going to grab two! Isamu's 29 with a couple of canon fodder 25a's flanking him will look pretty cool in the display cabinet.
