My main thing is I hope they did something about those crap wings in high speed mode. If it were up to me I'd have ditched high speed mode altogether for more sturdy wings, but that ship has probably sailed.

It's weird, the 31 shows two different battroid pod storage poses in Delta - one where it's completely retracted, and another where it kinda just sits half way on the back. They both seem to serve the same function.

Oh god is that the v1 VF-25. Forgot how ugly that thing is, especially standing next to all the pretties.

Re: charger pods on VF-31A's- I like to think they may have some other function or other hardware contained in that housing than just drone charger. It's not infeasible, despite no on-screen evidence. Even the charging thing was only shown once ever.

The only valk I threw was the Version 1 VF-25S with armor parts. Right against the side of a dumpster. Got so mad at thing.

What Is the advantage of having the VF-31 gunpod be attachable as a turret, instead of just being held like other valk models? Seems like a lot of wasted space in the weapon container.

So... an answer for this probably doesn't exist, other than it looks cool, but: Why do Battle class and Quarter class Macross ships use gunpods ("gun ships") instead of integrated main guns like SDF-1? I would assume having an integrated gun allows a lot more of the main reactor energy to channel to the gun. Also - why do those ships transform?

This really bugged me too. But I sort of justified it in my head-canon that holding the gunpod allows faster aim but lower power, whereas sticking it on the container makes it sort of an artillery mode with lots of power drawing directly from the fighter's thermonuclear reactors but with poor aim, so the container kinda has a use. Of course this has no basis in any actual source material as far as I know.

I agree, having the weapon pod so broken from the spine was an odd design choice.

Life after Delta - if I could describe in one word, it'd be "deflated". Although if they release a DX VF-22S it would all have been worth it!

Yeah I dunno. I'm not a toy engineer but I would think there must be a few better ways to have made that. At least they're not laser swords. Oy.
