What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
Marzan replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
After the dissapointing Lunar Legend Tsukihime I decided that I wanted to watch something were no one says "oni-chan" 5 times an episode and no there's no maid outfits. After a bit of research, Black Lagoon it is. -
Have always though that "13th Floor Elevators" was one of the coolest sounding band names.

Me too! Gotta wonder how the actual humanoid inside the Space Jockey is like. -
It doesnt quite fit with Renton and Eureka's world does it so I guess you're right and we're getting an alternate story. Still wouldn't be surprised if there's some sort of cameo from the original series.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0

Ok. Thanks. Well I watched the series so I might as well pick this one up later on. And yeah, the "Gattai" scenes are hilarious. While waiting for the next episode of Nisemonogatari I'm watching the so far very dissapointing Lunar Legend Tsukihime. Some potential in the story, but the pacing and the dialogue are horrible. -
LOL...175 episodes..Those were the days for Harmony Gold, huh?

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0

Is it a sequel, prequel or a reload of the Aquarion TV series? I'd heard the name but thought it was a videogame or something...he he, I have to inform myself better. -
Saw Robotech probably around 86 or so and was a big fan, although even at that early age I was confused by the jarring changes from storyline to storyline. Sometime in 96 I guess, I caught a screening of Macross Plus at tiny sci fi movie festival at a mexican university. I was curious about what relation it could have with Robotech. I was utterly blown away by the story, visuals and great music and just had to find out more. Had a word with the screenings organizer who then slipped a couple of bootleg Macross II VHS to me and told me all about how the original SDFM had ended up as part of Robotech. A couple of years later I by chance found a copy of Kiseki films release of DYRL at the Virgin Megastore in London. Been a fan ever since.

Seriously bummed out at hearing that Turn might not get a subtitled release after all. I had put off watching it in order to catch it properly... Sigh...- 3717 replies

Got the pleasant surprise that the first episode of Nisemonogatari (sequel to Bakemonogatari) came out. Very happy to see that it keeps the aesthetics and wonderful dialogue of Bakemonogatari. -

Wow. The trailer looks awesome. And I'm definitely intrigued by how they will link this with Alien. -
The moustaches and beards look a bit attached but who cares! Wanna see it now.

Wow! I can't read a word of what the website says but the kid looks suspiciously like a mix of Renton and Eureka. Really hope to hear more from this soon.

Building that VF 1 out of snow must have been a lot, and I mean a lot of work. I wonder if there's no photoshop involved? Loved the crashed AT/AT!

I've seen RGU the series but not the movie. Is it very different? I've heard that they take the symbolism aspect of things to the max for the film. -
From Sigur Ros' recently released live album (concert film) Inni. If i wanted a sountrack for space travel it'd be Sigur Ros. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiZ_mdbN1yE&feature=related

Done with Baccano. Great series. Highly recommendable. -
Wow. There can't be that many in the West who saw SDFM before Robotech. You must have been a bit confused when you first saw Robotech thinking it was just Macross but dubbed. "Protoculture is a fuel source??"

Some of the heads look like they were photoshopped on. Michael Fassbender's in particular looks weird. Are these scans legit? -
They're actually pretty close in the running for worst idea ever. Cars and gold just don't mix in my book.

AKIRA LIVE ACTION MOVIE = Life Support?

At the very least they could keep the bike being Japanese. I mean, it's not like they don't make fine motorcycles over there.
